Service tech showed up on time and did exactly what was expected. The job went quickly than he expected and he gave me a 10% discount. I would recommend Good Electric and will use them again in the future. Thanks GOOD Electric for your professionalism and honesty.

They were able to correct inside outlets that were not working, but had to pay for initial examination of pool electrical work, and then when they came back out to actually correct the problem they were unable to fix it. My husband knew more about the problem than they did. but they had the nerve to charge me anyway for work they could not perform.
Description of Work: Repaired outlets in our sunroom that did not work. Put in a new GFI outlet in master bedroom. Examination of electrical on pool. (initial visit) Examination of electrical on pool (second visit w/owner/master electrician)

They always stick to the estimate they give. They stick to their job without giving us surprises. They have always worked perfectly. They never had to comeback for anything. Their punctuality is perfect.
Description of Work: They are my electricians and I used them last 2 years ago. They rewired part of the house, installed new service panels and installed some lighting fixtures.

Called them to tell that during kitchen renovation the fan on my cook top stopped working. Probably needed reconnecting and was probably a small job. They told me it would be $30 to diagnose. Two electricians appeared on time. They looked at the cook top and told me that the diagnosis would be hard and it would cost $200. Did I agree? I said yes. Five minutes later they found the loose wire, connected it. I paid them and they left.
Description of Work: I had a loose wire in my cook top. They reconnected.

WE LET EVERYBODY KNOW OF OUR $29.95 CHARGE TO COME TO YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS TO GIVE YOU A QUOTE. WHEN YOU APPROVE THE QUOTE WE APPLY THAT AMOUNT BACK TO THE JOB. WE RARELY HAVE TWO ELECTRICIANS TOGETHER. THE SECOND PERSON WHO WAS THERE IS AN APPRENTICE WHO IS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN AN ELECTRICAL SCHOOL AND IS EARNING A PORTION OF HIS REQUIRED 8000 HOURS OF ON THE JOB TRAINING. EACH OF OUR TECHNICIANS HAVE EITHER A FORMAL FOUR YEAR EDUCATION IN THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY, AN ELECTRICAL STATE LICENSE OR BOTH. THAT MEANS OUR TECHS KNOW HOW TO LOCATE AND REPAIR PROBLEMS. ON THE OTHER HAND, IF THE PROBLEM TAKES MUCH LONGER TO FIND, THE QUOTE DOESN'T CHANGE, YOU WON'T PAY A PENNY MORE.

Evening of August 8, submitted a request for an appointment. I was contacted promptly the next day and an appointment was setup for August 13. The technician arrived on time and ready to do the work. After he listened to my story, he wanted to replace all of the underground wiring without doing any testing. I thought that the fault could be located and fixed for much less than it would cost to replace 100 yards of underground wire. He agreed to my request to replace only the distribution breakers and we would proceed from there. He did the work in less than one hour and was ready to leave, but when I checked his work there was still no power at the electrical outlet. Turned out that the wire from the breaker to the outlet had burned in half when the breaker fried. He then replaced that wire and conduit (2 circuits). Several days later, I found that he had once again failed to check his work because the second circuit that he replaced was disconnected at both ends.
Description of Work: Replaced breakers in an outdoor distribution box. Ran new #12 wire and new conduit from the breaker box down to electrical outlets - about 6 feet away from the breaker box. This breaker box feeds (10) 150 watt outdoor lights that are installed in trees that line the 100 yard parkway entrance to the subdivision. These lights have been out of service for years, but the neighborhood wanted to get them working again. Before calling Good Electric, I had replaced the light fixtures myself, but an intermittent short in the circuit had drawn so much current that it damaged the distribution breaker.

They give you a guarantee. They are very polite. The price was very reasonable. There was work that I asked them to do and they informed that it was something else that didn't really need to be done. I thought that was really great of them. They could have just done the work. They have had great ratings before and they definitely lived up to that reputation.

The incoming circuit breaker kept tripping after the A/C had been running for 10 minutes. We called two contractors from Angie's List Good Electric is closer but never called back. The only contractor to respond was Mister Sparky. Ultimately we used Mister Sparky and were very happy with the work performed.

Company charges $29.95 for an estimate, but applies it to the bill if work is done. It turned out that the estimate was actually a flat rate to complete the work. It was likely the work would cost less if done by the hour.

My experience was excellent. They were on time. The window of when they're coming is fairly small (two hours) and the office called before they come. The people who came were very courteous. They also worked efficiently. They aren't cheap but the prices are I believe fair and a repair that they'd estimated that turned out to be just a switch, they told me honestly and reduced the charges. They also warranty their work and the warranty is transferrable. I recommend them highly.
Description of Work: They fixed two chandeliers, a switch, put a bathroom heater on its own circuit. Fixed a circuit breaker panel so that it was up to code and put a light into my crawl space. They also checked the whole house to see that the electrics were up to code.

This was an absolutely positive experience! Starting with Ruth who answered the initial call, upbeat, informed, competent and able to schedule an appointment within a day (based on our schedule). Brian was the electrician who came, on time and with a new assistant. They were professional and courteous. We gave Brian the list and he checked each item, gave us a proposal and even suggested we would probably be getting a couple more proposals. We were so impressed with him, we just went with Good Electric. We were not wrong. He was the best and this company is top notch. All the things we used to take for granted but find so little of now: Supreme customer service, competency, professional, straightforward and HONEST. These guys didn't mind getting dirty or working in hot, yuky attic or basement crawl spaces which they did with good attitude and aplomb. Brian went above and beyond. The final bill was actually a few dollars less than proposal. Beautiful work- Super company.
Description of Work: Multiple electrical items based on a real estate contingency list to do. Troubleshooting and corrections; circuits, splices, panel, replacements. The list was about a dozen items and was scattered throughout the house from basement to attic/inside and outside.

I was scheduled an appointment within three days of my initial call. The receptionist was very courteous and made me feel like my problem was important. The technician who came out (Brian) was a very pleasant, courteous, professional, personable and engaging in conversation, just a wonderful personality. He explained what he was doing throughout his process of eliminating/detecting the cause of the problem. He did an excellent job, cleaned up after himself, made absolutely sure that the problem was corrected before leaving. In addition, I thought that the switch for my garbage disposal had gone bad and had him check it out. After determining that the switch was good, he proceeded to check on other possible causes, which he certainly did not have to do as it had nothing to do with the electrical side of things. However, with a couple turns of an Allen Wrench, my problem was resolved, Kudos to Brian and I highly recommend Good Electrical.
Description of Work: Performed tests to determine problem with overhead (recessed) lights not working. The technician (Brian) first tested all the minor things that might be causing the problem before testing the more time-consuming and potentially more costly causes. When the problem was detected, he made the repair and tested other areas to ensure that he had corrected the problem and that there were no more existing anomalies creating the problem.
