Georgia Technical Services was asked to run ethernet cables from my basement to my office, master bedroom, and media room. The guy who I think owns the company (Jesse) showed up with 2 guys "in training," while he left to attend to other things. Where do I begin with the things that went wrong? First of all, the cables were run through the exhaust flue for my furnace and water heaters. I later found out this is a fire hazard, and another company is scheduled to run the cables properly through an exterior wall. I've since had to hire someone to repair the exhaust flue to ensure it's not a fire hazard. One of the installers accidentally knocked a hole in the ceiling of my office, and for this, I received a $100 "discount" for their mistake. The ceiling was haphazardly repaired, but not painted. It actually looks worse now than it did before he tried to fix it. On the other side of my office wall (the ceiling of our foyer), there was caulking and paint all over the place from where the vibrations of the drill caused it to break loose. I'm not sure if this could even be prevented, but nothing was cleaned up after they left. There were parts left in the basement, trash left all over the place, and they were loud as everything. I'm not talking about their work being loud, I'm talking about the installers yelling at each other. Jesse (the owner?) was very loud and not very professional. I will never use GTS again. I wish I had a time machine so I can go back to that morning and tell them forget about it. I had a bad feeling about it before they started, and I should've listened to my gut instinct. Perhaps GTS does good work for commercial jobs, but I would not recommend them for residential work. Hopefully others have had much better success with them (as the reviews that showed up when I Googled GTS had great reviews).
