Very unpleasant experience. Like the other reviewers have said, the owner was rude and full of excuses, and the installers did a very lousy job. My major problems with them: 1. The liner was too tight, which will certainly impact the life-expectancy. 2. The installers did not prepare the floor well (just patched 1 or2 potholes). The whole time they spent on preparation was no more than 10 minutes. I was there and asked them to do more, but they simply refused and said it won't matter. The result is you can feel lots of debris after the liner installed, some are quite sharp. 3. The cost for replacing the whole wall foam was $225, and before we signed the contract they said no need to replace the whole and it's free to do patching. I would rather pay and have the whole wall foam replaced but they said they will see. Then on the installation day, they found it difficult to rip off the old one and decided it's easier to put the new one on the old one. But the wall foam they brought with them could only cover half of my pool wall. I asked them to get more but they were not willing to and said the other half was not bad. They also said it's considered to be patching and won't charge me anything. Well not a surprise, in the end the office charged me $225! I was not happy that only half of the wall foam was replaced, it's because the installers would not get more foam plus they offered free of charge so I accepted it. As I communicated with the office it was a terrible experience. I offered to pay half of the price but after many excuses (they tried to claim that my pool was too large so they had to charge more but my pool size is actually under the size they claimed), in the end, they offer to give me $50 store credit, which I would never use!

Extremely stressful experience. Took 9 weeks due to mistakes and lack of communication. Installer was unprofessional as was owner. While liner was finally complete, the experience was horrible and the owner was rude and full of excuses.

The job went good. Weather played a major part in delaying the work. I am happy with the finished product.

This company promised a liner install in my pool by July 4, which was about 2 months from when I first made contact with them. Not only did they not make the date, they were 9 days late and I missed out on being able to have my son's family of 5 on the 4th and the next week my daughter's family of 6 swim in my pool. They strung me along for the last two weeks promising that it was going to be the next day then the next. The work seems to be fair to good quality, but it took 5 days.

I have a very old pool that needed various repairs as well as a new liner. The representative from Factory Direct Liners came out to inspect and give me a quote and I was impressed from the get-go with his honesty because he gave me suggestions on how to save money rather than selling unnecessary services. I did have other company quotes for comparison but chose them because the company is family owned and they have been in business in Atlanta for many years. They have a beautiful selection of liners and everyone there is so nice and easy to work with - from the office workers to the guys in the field. They showed up when they were supposed to and completed each task to my satisfaction. Practically unheard of these days! It was very interesting to watch how they go about taking out the old liner and installing the new one. They have a system that worked 1,2,3 - I thought it was going to be a nighmare of a mess but they worked so quickly. The new liner looks fabulous and I feel like I have a brand new pool. I appreciated how neat they were during the whole process and they completed all the work on time which is also surprising these days! I also purchased a pool cover which I did not previously own so next Fall they will come out and winterize the pool and cover it for a nominal charge. I have been busy for years each Fall trying to keep the leaves out of the pool and should have purchased the cover a long time ago. They sell chemicals too so it is one-stop shopping for your pool. I can't say enough good things about the job they did and how incredible my pool looks. Can't wait to have a pool opening party and show off my 'new' old pool. It was a great value.
Description of Work: They installed a new inground pool liner as well as other repairs. I had valve issues.

Factory direct liners came to my home and were very professional and involved my husband every step of the way. They allowed my husband to make choices on whether or not we wanted other repairs. While the pool liner was off although they thought the repairs were not urgent they still allowed us to make the decision on what was right for us! They also honored our coupon for $100 off even after it expired. Thank you, Factory Direct Liners-good job!
Description of Work: Our pool liner was removed, the walls were repaired and a new liner was installed in less than a week.

In May of this year, I called the company to let them know that the liner had completely faded. I had to call them for over 3 months. They asked that I take pictures of the problem, I submitted pictures to them twice and was told they were not good enough. They then sent an ex-employee, and friend who happened to be in the area, to my house to take pictures of the liner with his flip phone. In July, no one from the company had come out to our house, and there was no resolution. I called again and insisted that someone from the company out to look at it. In October the finally sent an actual employee out to the house, causing me to delay closing my pool. He, Brad, agreed that there is something not right with the liner. He also took pictures. Their final decision is that the liner fabric came from the manufacturer in Canada, and that company doesn't feel that they owe me a new liner. I explained I bought the liner from Factory Direct Liners, and there is no reason I should have to deal with the manufacturer they bought it from. I have even offered to pay for the labor to have a new liner put in, just not pay for the actual liner itself. I have owned this pool since 1982, I am not a beginner at pool maintenance. All I want is the same liner I have, and I will even pay to have it put in.
Description of Work: We had them come and replace our in-ground pool liner, for our in-ground salt system pool.

Response from Factory Direct Liners Inc
In response to our customer, Member’s review dated 11/8/12, I respectfully submit Factory Direct Liners’ history of the issues with Member’s pool liner. We are a manufacturer of swimming pool liners. Our warranty specifically states that we warrant the seams of the liner, which is the same as all other liner manufacturers in the country. Our company seals the seams of a vinyl pattern to form a pool liner. Any defects of the vinyl material itself is guaranteed by the manufacturer of the vinyl, in this case a company called Canadian General - a company known for some of the highest quality material in the industry. Our first record of Me’s phone call to our office is on June 18th of this year. The end of June is the busiest time of year for pool companies. We prioritize our customer job schedule to make sure all of our customers have use of their pools for the 4th of July. Since the Members had use of their pool, they agreed to an appointment after the holiday. When we first spoke to Member's in June, we asked if she could take pictures of her liner so we could send them to the manufacturer of the vinyl material, Canadian General. She did send us pictures, and we did forward them, but they were of very poor quality and you could not see the issue she was complaining of. We went back and forth with Member's trying to set a time for someone from our company to look at the pool…Member's has a very busy schedule. After much time trying to find a time that was convenient for the Member's, we sent our contractor (who yes, is also a friend) to look at the Member's pool. Unfortunately, another set of photos turned out to be of poor quality. We then sent another tech, who met with Members. Member's offered to take pictures with his camera, saying he knew the best time of the day to take the pictures so the light would not distort the photos. He was extremely annoyed that he had to get involved at all. Had Member's taken the pictures back in June as we requested, a resolution would have come much sooner. His pictures were perfect, showing that the liner had faded on the floor and just a slight bit onto the walls evenly around the pool. Upon receipt of his photos, I immediately sent them to Canadian General for consultation to determine if there was a defect with the material. I received a review of the photos from the product development specialist at Canadian General. His reply was that the bottom few inches of the pool wall pattern had been bleached in addition to the floor material. This effect can be produced when the liner material is exposed to high levels of sanitizer, (i.e. chlorine) combined with insufficient circulation of the pool water. The chlorine settles, creating a region of greater chlorine concentration close to the pool floor therefore bleaching out the pattern on the liner floor and the bottom of the wall, more than the remainder of the wall material. The Member's have a salt water generator on their pool. Salt water systems are in fact salt water chlorine generators which produce free chlorine at a specified rate depending on the setting and salt concentration in the pool. As such, pools with a salt water chlorine generator still require regular and frequent testing of the pool water to make sure that the recommended level of 1 – 3ppm of free chlorine is maintained. Member's was asked to produce his water maintenance records. He indicated that he occasionally took his water into the nearby pool store, but had no records of this. Please note that Factory Direct Liners did not install the Members’ salt generator. When we do, we explain how to care for your salt pool and provide a printed guide. Less expensive salt systems do not have an automatic free chlorine monitoring capability; therefore the homeowner has to be diligent in maintaining the setting. In summary, the Member's are responsible for what happened to their pool liner by not properly maintaining their pool chemistry. We do stand behind our warranty, but under this set of circumstances we are not responsible. We have offered the Member's a discount on a new liner, as is our company policy when such a mishap has occurred for any of our customers. We are proud of the thousands of satisfied customers that we have served over the past 30 years. We are happy to provide testimonies and referrals from the many happy customers that return to us for pool care, over and over again. Sincerely, Evelyn Shanni, VP, Operations
