Description of Work: They installed a top of the line heat pump and furnace. Old furnace died on New Year's Eve. They worked on it all day and got it done before the holiday.

Description of Work: Installed a single 120 outlet; took 30 minutes and charged $975.00

Description of Work: Estes was called because we were concerned with a smell coming from the A/C. The service Tech came - took the whole coil unit apart, said that there was no smell that he could find but that we needed a new A/C. There is nothing wrong with the cooling ability of our unit but this tech went on and on about everything wrong with our current system. After he left we noticed that our bedroom was not cooling like it had prior to Estes tech's visit. After a week of not being cool in our bedroom I went down to the basement to look at our unit and discovered that the tech had taken off all of the duct tape that sealed the unit and never bothered to replace it when he was done. So all of our cold air was flowing out into the basement. |Sealing a unit back up after working on it is basic A/C school 101 and not doing so is unforgivable. These guys were simply trying to sell us a new unit! We will not use them again.

Description of Work: I was initially upset because the first technician did not communicate clearly to me that he was going to pour 500 dollars worth of refrigerant into my broken AC system without checking for a leak first. Unfortunately I also signed a waiver afterwards that "I was aware that I had a leak" - even though he never did the leak test. Why did I sign this waiver? Good question. I didn't read or think about what I was signing, I just trusted that what the technician was asking of me was in my best interest. Dumb, I know - he was merely covering himself. The question is, why would it be Estes protocol to insist that a customer sign such a waiver, even without doing a leak test? I certainly was not insisting that he pour refrigerant into a leaky system - I wanted the opposite - as good sense would dictate, I only wanted refrigerant poured into the system if a leak was NOT found - but perhaps I did not explain myself well enough. Anyways, I was forced to schedule a second appointment to have the leak test done. Maddeningly, the 2nd technician found the leak in five minutes, he didn't even have to do anything - he could simply hear it leaking - and for this they charged me another 100 dollars. Despite the fact that the first tech looked at the same issue , he apparently did not have the same fine sense of hearing that the 2nd tech had. Perhaps if I offered him 50 bucks under the table his hearing would have improved. In the end, I needed a new evaporator coil and condenser, and since Estes really wanted that sale, they gave me 500 bucks off in discounts and warranties on the backend. I was fairly satisfied with this, as I'm willing to conceded that I did not explain myself well enough to the first tech, which probably caused the confusion in the first place. And despite the shiftiness of the first tech, every other tech or person I talked to at Estes after that was very communicative and seemingly interested in at least meeting me half way regarding my issues. I almost left them over this, but the customer service I received through the whole ordeal was good enough to rebuild my trust and confidence in their service.

Description of Work: Checked HVAC system after another company told me I needed over $3000 worth of work done to mine. Estes was far more honest and let me know areas that were weak and might need attention in the future, but said the system checked out and was working properly.

Description of Work: One of two AC units would not function in the house we rented out. Based on Andie's list, we selected Estes & they were extrememly prompt is responding the day we called: July 5th! The Estes technician was able to quickly pinpiont the problem & resolve it. Our renters had cool air within the hour! We will use Estes for all our future HVAC concerns!

Description of Work: I would like to say that I was very please with the service. I received today there were very professionalism.

Description of Work: I was having a big party at my house and my air conditioning went out.

Description of Work: Heat went out on very cold day. Of course it was a Sunday. Called ESTES and they dispatched a tech (Jose) to repair the system. He called 20 min before appt and was on time. He repaired the problem and I signed up for the Maint. program (2 visits per year) for all 3 systems in the house. Tech was professional and did a good job.

Description of Work: The agent was on time. He was very professional and courteous. He finished preparing the furnace for winter quickly and cleanly.
