 + -1 moreWent well. The work was completed on time and well for the most part. The salesman was much more organized than the actual crew. He said they would call the day before to remind me, and they called to find out which day to come instead. They also provided financing and I selected 18 months same as cash, they brought paperwork for 12 months same as cash. The guys did a good job installing, but didn't clean up after themselves as well as I would have liked. There were about 25-30 small screws left on the ground (we have dogs who eat crazy things) and lots of insulation left laying around(odd dog treats, but they eat it anyway). All in all, a good experience.
Description of Work: Estes added a new furnace and air conditioner to the basement which is unfinished.

 + -1 moreWe would not use them again. They were so difficult to get in contact with and they were bad about following up with us. They took forever to return our phone calls. I think they were completely overpriced. Also, it took two months just to get filters. Overall, it was just too much effort on our part.

 + -1 moreThey were very responsive to my needs when my air conditioner went out during a heat wave this Summer. They came right out and got the system working. I have not had any problems with unit since. I have had the service contract with them for 8 years now.
Description of Work: They came in the Spring to inspect our central air conditioner. I have a yearly contract with them that includes inspection and cleaning of the furnace in the Fall and the air conditioner in the Spring.

I have a very big unit so they said it was a large motor they were installing. They did it with no trouble and the unit has been working terrific.

 + -1 moreThe electrician they sent to do the work was not professional at all. He found every excuse not to come, and when he would show up he would leave the house unlocked when he would leave. I was very disappointed with his performance. He came without a generator! The attitudes of the workers were disruptive. The other people I dealt with in the company were fine but the electrical contractor was awful. I would give this company another chance because of the politeness of the sales and management staff. I had paid them up front but the company returned all my money promptly after having all these problems.
Description of Work: They were to do the electrical and HVAC work in a house I was remodeling.

 + -1 moreEverything went very well. However, I failed to review the completed invoice in detail until later, and note the listing of a part, a filter, which I was unaware was used, as my own are in good condition. I shall telephone the company tomorrow, to inquire about this matter.
Description of Work: Mike inspected and my 2 ac systems, added refrigerant, and made several recommendations for improved efficiency in the future.

 + -1 moreWE were given a 4 hour time for tech to arrive. He called ahead arrived promptly and did an excellent job. He explained why one of the A/C systems was not performing, corrected the problem, changed filters, added freon and then checked our upstairs system. The tech was very informative, polite, neat, and did a thorough job. I was extremely pleased with the work. Our system is not top of the line and is 13 yrs old. He recommends eventually replacing it, but did not push or oversell. He fixed what needed to be fixed. A few days after the visit a person from Estes called wanting to know if we were pleased with the work. We were and would recommend them highly. We have had several other A/C repair companies work on our A/C, all costly and pushing us to replace, but EStes did the necessary work efficiently and for a fair price. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Checking A/C systems, changing filters, adding freon, and making sure the A/c system was performing better.

 + -1 moreThere was 1 person that came out to do this job. He identified the problem and then replaced the thermostat. I was pleased with the knowledge that the technician had. He was done with the work in about 1 hour. He also checked the rest of the unit to make sure nothing else was wrong.
Description of Work: We had them replace the thermostat that is connected to the heating unit in my 1600 square foot home. The unit was not turning on because there was a short in the thermostat.

 + -1 moreThese men took 5 total visits to fix something we feel they should have been able to fix in two visits at the most. The person that came the first time told us that the piece we needed wasn t under warranty, and as I knew it was, I insisted that I get the Presidents number in order to contact the company and find out. The President informed me that the service man was mistaken and that he would get someone out to replace the piece ASAP. After 3 more visits the dehumidifier is finally in and the unit works fine. I am happy that Estes stands by its word and that they only charged me for the first service call, but I feel that because of the extenuating circumstances having us wait so long to get this finally done, that I will be using one of their competitors next time.
Description of Work: They replaced a dehumidifier in my unit, as the heating wouldn t turn off. My home is about 2700 square feet and I did not purchase the unit from Esters originally.

Your list had Estes rated a #1 in the industry and the sales person, Mr. Jerry Johnson saved us thousands of dollar for comparable equipment. He was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous and sold us the best system for our needs. Thank you, Angie's List, and thank you, Estes, for your honesty and service. There were some minor complaints about cleanup, but overall the service and the overall performance were exceptional.
Description of Work: Recently we had a new HVAC system installed in our home. We had two dual fuel Estes elite heat pumps installed and air handling system installed in the attic. Also there was a dehumidification system installed. To control the new system we had two new thermostats installed to control the upstairs and downstairs to control the newly installed systems.

The problem was remedied quickly and the installer said an even better air handler was installed. The company has been slow on providing for the needed inspection of the finished work. I contacted my rep. the day of service, but didn't hear back until a second contact was made. He explained that the installation dept should be in touch about the inspection with the county.

 + -1 moreI noticed that the house was chilly on a Saturday morning. After investigating, I determined that the furnace was not turning on. After making several calls to vendors in the Yellow Pages, I turned to Angie's List and found Estes Heating. Although it was a Saturday, the company assured me that a technician would come out that same day to look into my problem. The technician arrived around 5:00 p.m. and immediately went into the attic to assess the furnace. The tech was very professional and took the time to show my husband and I the source (cracked hose) of the problem. He had a spare part in his service vehicle and completed the repair within one hour of arrival. Overall, my husband and I were very pleased with the service we received.
Description of Work: The technician evaluated the furnace and identified a cracked vacuum hose - the reason why the furnace would not ignite. The tech replaced the hose and corrected the problem.
