Furnace installed within two days of initial contact. Installers were on time arrival and stayed for approx. 7- 8 hours. Quiet, polite - professional installation. So far so good. Furnace is running so quiet - we don't even notice it is on. Furnace has 20 year warranty on heat exchanger, 10 years on parts.
Description of Work: Replaced 19 yr old furnace with modulating gas Carrier furnace. Brought installation up to code by installing a drip pan, new insulating ducts, pipes, water pump, honeywell air filtration system.

He did an excellent job, but charges were totally out of line for work performed and time it took. They were double what we had paid on a previous occasion with the same provider. At the same time, the technician lowered the water pressure in our system to unacceptably low levels, necessitating a return by a different tech to fix the problem caused by the first guy. We contacted a supervisor at Estes, and they lowered the charges for us, so we were happy overall with the outcome.
Description of Work: The plumber fixed an overflowing drain pipe in our basement floor, where condensation from the HVAC drains.

The work only took 2 hours, they came right on time and worked quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. Estes installed two new HVAC systems in my home last year. The contractor grade systems I had were costing me a fortune in Electricity in the summer. My new systems have cut my power bills in half. I have always been well treated by Estes.
Description of Work: I had mold issues in my ceiling due to improperly vented bathroom exhaust fans. Estes came and vented all 4 bathroom exhaust fans on my second floor through the roof vs. the eaves of the house.

The service rep showed up on time and performed the needed service. The reps always are in uniform and very professional. They answer any questions we might have about the current or potential service. They are not cheap but seem to be very well trained.

AC running hot. It was determined that I need a whole new unit even though the Carrier unit is ONLY 9 years old. The original installation of the compressor by Estes was horrible 9 years ago with exposed wires which caused unit to blow fuses. The compressor is on the roof so every time it rained my system would blow. I purchased fuses since I was tired of unit going out and having to call. Plus I figured I would save the installation charge. They resolved years later but still left a bitter taste. I was also told that the warranty on my system expired in April 2015...surprise, surprise! Because of that experience I wonder if my unit really needs to be replaced now OR do they see dollar signs and another sucker to reel in. Bought the service contract and had to have Freon put into compressor. By the way the system sold 9 years ago was the old phased out machine rather than the new government approved freon system so the Freon cost is quite high...$250!!!!. Why wasn't new technology system put in at that time? Good question. Plus, this is not covered by service contract...another $270!!! I asked the tech some questions about my system and he simply put it that I have bad luck. I wasn't pleased with the response. I suppose Carrier now makes inferior products which is why I feel I will shop around for a more reliable company with a local service company to back it up. I asked neighbors in my condo building who have other units and they all seem to not have the issues I have. It must be the company I am using. Your thoughts? They were responsive and did have someone out the next day so that part is good. The technician on this visit knew his stuff so can't fault his work. My gripe is with original installation which was shoddy and probably caused the issues I experience today. Fool me once shame on you. There won't be a repeat!

Longtime customer. Profoundly disappointed. I will never use this company again. For years, we used Estes for both heating and air, taking advantage of their service contract.. I was very high on them, recommended them, and once they even came out late at night to replace a motherboard on our air conditioner in the hot summer. I was grateful for this. My only complaint about Estes, which was really nothing, was the upselling of certain services or devices by the service technician upon each inspection. But, I did not think that was a very big deal and I always dismissed this sales ploy as being typical of the industry. But recently, Estes came out to take a look at our air conditioner which was not operating well. The unit is about 14 or 15 years old--a Trane--and it was struggling to keep up with cooling the upstairs. They quoted a price upwards of $2000 for repair but they could not "guarantee" that it could be fixed. They really wanted us to buy a new air conditioner and add new lines in at a quoted price approaching $10,000.00. I couldn't believe it. As I understood the quote, it did not include the furnace portion of the cooling system. All of this sounded way too high a price and I decided to call a second contractor out (a well-reviewed one here on Angie's list). The second contractor came out promptly and inspected the system. I did not cue him in of what exactly was diagnosed by Estes. I wanted his inspection to be independent. After his inspection, he told me that it could definitely be fixed for about half the price of Estes' quote! (FYI, he did not know what Estes quoted.) This contractor told me the Trane Unit that we had was an excellent unit and was no where near being "finished." And he did fix it! It is running beautifully right now, it seems better than ever! Worse than that, he told me that our air conditioner had not been properly serviced for years (even though Estes was paid for supposedly doing this) and that the main problem was that the outside unit was incredibly dirty. He could tell by the condition of the surrounding dirt around our 2 units -- that they could not have been appropriately serviced. I had no idea that Estes was not doing proper inspections and servicing of our units. I always assumed that you pay a contractor for work that is properly done. Essentially, for the service contract, Estes was replacing our filters--and that was about it. My wife had just renewed our service contract with Estes before I called for a second opinion. I called Estes to cancel that service contract--they obligingly did so--but they also asked why we wished to cancel. I told them in detail. Yet, they would not give us a full refund on the rescinded contract because the "service" call they were called out on had been "discounted" due to our renewal of the service contract. They wanted to charge us the non-discounted service call price by deducting the difference from our refund. I told them ok, but again, I felt like I was getting ripped off. Talk about being nickled and dimed! Is Estes that desperate??? I told them to expect a negative review. BTW, the person I dealt with on the phone was very nice and pleasant, but a person who obviously had not discretion on handling these sorts of calls. I do not think this is a situation of a rogue technician. We have had different tech persons come out from Estes over the years. The problem, to me, is more of a systemic nature. My experience with Estes turned 180 degrees. I wish I could say something more positive. But I cannot. I will not use Estes again.

I've used these people for a number of years, but I was disappointed in the last service that I got from them. My disappointment was that what they did, did not last. They had to come back out and ultimately I found out that a part that they had replaced previously was not the right part or shouldn't have been. Basically, I paid for some additional parts. They came out and said I needed this and this and that's going to fix it. It did not fix it. It fixed it for a very brief period of time. What ultimately had to be done is I had to get a supervisor to come out. A part that I had paid to be replaced previously turned out not to be exactly the right part and that was the cause of it, so my feeling was that I ended up paying for two parts that probably I did not need to pay for. They replaced the part and then when they came out again "Oh, this is defective. Geez, I don't know why." They told me I had a short or something that was burning this part out and they said I had to order another one because they didn't have it in stock. I went probably four or five days without any heat. I ended up paying for some very expensive parts that I think if the repair had been done properly that I already had paid for before I would not had needed it. I've worked with them before. They're not like a shyster company I don't think, but they didn't do a good job for me at that time. I don't think they have the best prices, but I don't think they have the worst either. In this particular case I had a problem, but they said they had ordered the part. Generally I can get them out here, but in this case they just misdiagnosed it. When they say they're going to come, they're usually pretty good. I think that they acted in a professional manner. I'm still using them as my service. Basically what they ended up doing is they comped me on the service contract for this year. It didn't make up for what I did spend on those parts that I may or may not have needed, but they did do that for me. When I had the problem, I had the technician here, he couldn't fix it, so I called them up and said "Look guys I need to have something done." His supervisor drove all the way across town in the evening, in the traffic, came here personally and he resolved it. I suffered through some things, but I don't feel like the company was trying to rip me off. The part that the guy put in is like an ignitor for the furnace because they auto-ignite. They don't have powerlights. They auto-ignite the burners. Well apparently they broke. When he replaced this before, he replaced it in the Spring because I had some other things done. He identified that I needed a new ignitor. He replaced it in the Spring and of course I didn't need heat in the Spring and Summer. It showed up apparently in their book that it was an acceptable part for that furnace, so when the supervisor came out who is much more familiar with some of these systems said "You know what, there's the problem because this is not reliably igniting these burners. Even though the book says that, we really need to use this part." He was able to diagnose it and figure it out based on his experience. So the service technician that had replaced it before, it's not like he put in a part that wasn't specified. It's just that specified part really didn't perform correctly. It was a technical error and what happened is when the furnace wasn't heating the service technician that came out missed diagnosed it. He said the problem was that the gas valve was not turning on to let the gas in, so they had to put a new automatic gas valve in. That probably happened because the circuit board had a short in it and so that's causing the thing. Had I had the right part in there probably all those other things would've been fine. This misdiagnosis cost me a lot of money that I don't think I should've had to pay, but how do you check that after the fact.
Description of Work: My furnace was not working and it kind of quit heating. They came out and replaced some parts on the furnace. He replaced the circuit board, replaced a gas valve and replaced a thermostat.

I’ve had them out a number of times. I’ve had them install an air conditioning and then they’ve been servicing it for the past year and a half. The service went great. I have them on annual contract so the cost was included in what I paid for. Only one worker came out to service the air conditioner. He is friendly, courteous and professional.
Description of Work: I used Estes Air and Heating. He did a routine service. He replaced the filter, checked the Freon level, cleaned out the coil and he did general service.

10 to 15 minute valve replacement; fairly easy and quick. The problem is that $359.00 charge. I have used Estes for several big jobs including 2 HVAC systems and hot water tank. I won't be calling Estes again. I am not challenging the quality but the cost is way out of line. Then recommended to pull up the toilet to reset it at $530 + depends if flange is broken or not. This is a new toilet installed in 2014.
Description of Work: literally a 15 minute job to replace toilet stop valve at $359. Once they are here you are obligated to pay the $79 service call. Then I get the recommendation to pull up the toilet to reset it at $530 or more. This is in addition to the $350 stop valve cost. This is a new toilet that was installed 6 months ago. Something doesn't smell right here.

Were to begin! Needed a plumber ASAP for a leak in the bathroom, then I noticed there was cold air blowing from the heat vents - no heat. I have a contract with Estes for my HVAC so I contacted them immediately to address the lack of heat, only to find out they too do plumbing! Fast forward to bottom line. I called them at 6 p.m. on Friday night, I had Elliott (plumber) and Hank (HVAC) at my house on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Talk about service! All repairs were explained to me in full detail, costs up front, and neither were trying to sell me services I don't need. I really trust these guys. I've had Estes out previously for heat and A/C problems and they always did a great job. Servicemen are professional, prompt, and always have time to explain to me what needs to be done, and what to consider for the future. Never have I ever felt any pressure to take one option over another. Truly a great organization and I would recommend and use them again. Thank you to the entire staff at Estes!

They are amazing. We use them for air conditioning, electric, heating, and plumbing. The county inspector was very impressed with their work. They are honest and upfront. They give you a great price at a fixed rate. They don't change the price. We were the general contractors and they did everything perfectly. They let us purchase all of the components and they installed them. They even gave us all the measurements for the components and even the brand of paint. They bent over backwards to work with us. We were gone for a couple of days to take care of my dad and they stopped working. They never complained. They put in extra studs in case of a tornado. They reinstalled a drain for a tankless water heater that they had installed at no charge. We are lucky to have found them.
Description of Work: They built a bathroom from scratch. The bathroom is our tornado shelter.

Met with the Estes salesman(Chase)on Monday of this week. He went through my home examining my current configuration and quoted me on what I asked for and what he suggested. He explained the differences and options for the two different systems and answered all of my questions at the time. After leaving, other questions came to mind and were answered with a simple phone call. After reviewing the 5 quotes I received from other companies, I awarded the job to Estes. The quote from Estes was not the cheapest that I had received, however I felt that I would get value for my dollar in the long run. The install date was set and I received a call the day before informing me when the install crew would be out. The following morning, the install crew consisting of David and Ryan arrived as promised, introduced themselves, looked over the job to be done and proceeded the installation with their knowledge, expertise and professionalism. They only encountered one minor problem which they quickly overcame with the support of the Estes home base. Approximately 5 1/2 hours after pulling into my driveway, they had removed my old equipment, replaced it with a Infinity System, gave me basic instructions on how the equipment works, and left my home in as good if not better shape then they had found it. Ryan and David are a credit to the Estes company. Seeing how this is my first piece of Carrier equipment in my home, the verdict is still out on that issue. Check with me in about a year and I will be able to give a rating on the Infinity System. But so far, so good. No problems, no regrets.

Use the company for annual HVAC maintenance. Blower/air would not come on . . . turned out to be a blown fuse within, the unit - likely the result of several electrical outages from recent storms. Repairman quickly isolated the problem, fixed at reduced service call rate and life moved on. Love the customer service

I had problems with my a/c not cooling and called for services from another local company. I was not happy when the service rep left because the unit was at least coming on before his arrival. We he left the unit wasn't coming on due to blowing fuse. I was told that he would need to replace all the wiring because an animal may have chewed through it somewhere and due to the short it was blowing the fuse. I felt I was being ripped off and called Estes Services. Micheal arrived on time and did an outstanding job troubleshooting the problem and repairing a small section of the wiring and replacing the capacitor. I was very impress with his attitude and professionalism. I would highly recommend this company for your servicing needs.

I looked up this company using Angie's List and thought I would give them a try. I called the company and a technician came out within a couple days. He stated that the condenser and the fan blade on our unit needed replacing. He told me it would take a few days to receive the part because my unit was a Lennox and the parts take some time to get. It took over a week for them to get the part and when they got it, it was the wrong one! I was charged for the full service even though I hadn't received the part. The technician told me that the part could be in on Saturday even though the day he came was a Friday. I called the company the next day on Saturday to inquire about the part and they told me that it would take a few days to get the part. The whole time that this was going on, my family had to live in overwhelming heat in our house! I had to deal with heat the entire weekend because at that point the a/c unit was no longer pumping any cool air. I ended up canceling everything and finding a new company who informed me that the part company for Lennox is based in McDonough, so why did it take over a week to get a part that I could have had in a day?!? They have very poor service. Everyone there acts like it's no big deal that the part took so long or that it was wrong. I requested a refund for the fan blade that was never installed but I was charged for, however, I am constantly being told that the supervisor will have to review it and call me back. It has been two week and no response. Poor service and they don't value the customer. DO NOT USE!

We had 3 quotes, Estes had the best price for a Rheem 16SEER unit, all companies did a good job explaining what products were so we could make an educated decision and didn't pressure us to get something we didn't need. Installation was smooth and professional.
