Estes Services - HVAC Plumbing & Electrical

The service went extremely well. I have used Estes for over 10 years now and I am happy with their service and honesty. The technician pointed out the need for preventative maintenance regarding contactor replacement, but said that it could probably wait until spring.

It went well. The technician was extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They identified the problem right away and look care of it within 2 days.

We have a maintenance plan with them. Overall, they have good customer service. They are punctual and address issues professionally.

At the time we had the system installed we had them install a humidifier. It was a Honeywell, that cost over $1,000 and its never worked exactly correctly. I have complained about it many times when they were out hey would attempt to clean it up and so on. But last time they were out they said they don't sell that model any more and don't have any repair parts and and they really arent servicing it anymore. It really struck a nerve with me and I am canceling my contact that i had kept up for 6 years for like $300 plus for the annual maintenance, I am going to find someone else that can rip me off.

During my appointment window I was called and told there was an emergency involving a gas leak at another property and I was asked to reschedule. Fair enough, accidents happen. I told them I was available Friday morning. I was given a 9:00-12:00 window and told I was first on the list. Estes called Thursday to confirm the appointment - but didn't leave a message. Luckily I called back because I was told it was Friday afternoon. I could take that appointment or reschedule. Rescheduling means taking another day off work.

I have a maintenance contract with them and have had for about 22 years. The price is for the annual contract.

There's an annual fee. The price is reasonable. I have no complaints on any of the services that they provide.

Estes arrived in a timely manner. The plumber was very nice and did a great job.

They are punctual, they always provide all the products. They are reasonable, and the workers are clean cut and very polite people.

AVOID THEM I had a coupon found here on angies list for $50 off and no service charge. Their regular service charge is $79. At first they said they might not take the coupon, then when the technician got there he said they would but guess what he said they would charge $80 to cut the drywall. and this is for EACH cut. And he does not not how many cuts would be needed. And of course this does not include any repairs. It's not like it is cutting through steel or cement it's just flimsy regular drywall. This is not hard to do and certainly is not worth $80 a pop. So I feel like they are just trying to recoup the coupon value. So this is a BAIT AND SWITCH TYPE RIPOFF

We have never had a problem with any work done by Estes, or any new heating or a/c system they have installed for us over many years. This is a great outfit, and I highly recommend them if you want things done right the first time.

They were here when they said they would be and they installed it the same day. Good, professional work done in a timely fashion from beginning to end.

When I decided to use Estes, I contacted the service agent Sam Rhone and he scheduled the installation. It was only a short time and the crew arrived on time, went about the job with gusto and accomplished it all within one day. That included removing the old system, setting up the new one, doing all the additional ductwork necessary to deliver the proper amount of heat and cooling to the house, installing the thermostat and explaining everything as they went about the job. I enjoy learning about my home's systems and asked a lot of questions. Everyone answered my inquiries cheerfully and with obvious knowledge of the subject. The entire process left me with confidence in the Estes services and product. The services included several expensive options including a service contract for the system, spray foam insulation in the attic, and additional maintenance contracts on two carriage house units on my property. I look forward to working with Estes.

Outstanding Service, Value, Product, Lead Time, and People!! Complete review of Estes Service major “services”. Electrical – New Service Line, new power supply from street, new electrical box on house, new breaker box, new/additional lighting, fixing general electrical issues. Plumbing – New Water Heater, emergency water cut off in house, moving gas line behind new stove to fit new stove, fixing frig water line, unclogging drainage pipes on property. Heat/AC – New Heat/AC, installing Nest Thermostat, relocating where the new AC Condenser was outside to better spot, new power line for system, emergency shut off for AC/Heat, new pump to take condensation water outside, and full duct cleaning service. My wife and I purchased an older home in the City of Decatur that needed a lot of work on the systems in the house. We quoted out to a few different companies. We made the decision to go with Estes Service on everything due to the overall package they offer. That is best Service, Value, Product, Lead Time, and People. I want to focus on “Service” for a moment… Service is trouble shooting any unforeseen issue that comes up, building confidence with the customer, being open and honest about work, and working with the customer to complete the job the RIGHT way that will last for the long haul. Estes Service was that company for my installation. Some of the quotes I received were slightly less than Estes, but those quotes were from companies that have no vested interest in quality work (Service). Those companies may not be open tomorrow, there work could cause issues down the road, and in general did not want to work with me… they seemed to just want to come in and bang out the work, then get out. Estes really wanted the work to be how I wanted it to, build a relationship for the long run, upfront pricing, and worked out any outstanding issues I had. When you are doing major work like this above, there are always little things that come up. Estes will work with you to resolve those and other guys will cover that up and hope you are not smart enough to check there work and/or figure out what they covered up. In the long run, those “cheaper turn and burn” companies will cost you more in pour quality of the work. You will likely have to have a company like Estes Service come out and fix those issues after a few years. The intangible part that you cannot put a figure or value to is the PEOPLE at Estes Service. They are truly passionate about their work, care for the customer, and want to do what is best for YOU! And yes, you can call Estes Service and ask for these individuals specifically by name to come out and hope you. Mike Mendez – Electrical - #1 Electrician in Atlanta! Very well. I called that morning, They were there by lunchtime, when they said and stayed until done. Explained everything to me. Fair price. Great job and great plumber.

They were very good. They came out and gave a very detailed estimate. I was very impressed. The price seemed to be in line with everybody else. I'm considering them.

It went very well. They worked under difficult conditions without complaint. They did a great job, and gave us peace of mind along with cool air!

We had the maintenance agreement with them for several years and found the technicians very capable and professional until the last visit (in the spring). At that time the technician (Andrew) informed me we had a freon leak and he discussed several options (none of which were simple/cheap). Option #1 was to replace the freon at $206/lb., with the cost rising each year due to scarcity. I was asked to sign a form "IMPORTANT NOTICE" that he had discussed the various options with me. The form says in bold letters "Don't delay, time is on the essence!!!" It did seem, though in fairness he was careful not to push it outright, that over the long run, the most cost-saving option would be to replace our cooling system, upgrading to the new type that does not require freon. We do understand that eventually we'll need to do that. He said there was no telling whether it was a slow leak or a quick one, but we might consider taking action before the 90-degree heat sets in and he wrote the name of a salesman on the back of his card, should we decide to go that route. We are getting older and my husband thought this was possibly a play made on the elderly, so I researched other services here at Angie's list, found a service that seemed very reputable, and had them come out and basically do the same type of check-up on our system as was done by Estes, looking for any indication of a freon leak. This technician found no indication of anything at all amiss. That service call was about $60, but we consider it money well spent. It's now late Aug. and we have had no issues with our system throughout all the hot summer and I have engaged that other service (Bartlett, if I can say that here) for our next annual maintenance agreement. I recognize that maybe next year there will be an issue with freon, but maybe not. Estes may not have done anything wrong, but in any case, they have now lost our trust.

As normal, technician arrived on time, installed the equipment and explained the benefits and functions again. After some discussion, I added the unit to the annual maintenance contract. We have been customers of Estes for over 30 years and have always been very pleased with their professionalism.

I thought I was to pay a total of $89 to include the inspection and the media filter as told to me by the person I set up the appointment with but I was charged $174.00 instead. The service person kept pushing the service plan which I had no interest in and which was confusing in terms of pricing. All in all, the heating and air conditioning unit that was installed in 2009 has worked great, but we had not had a service inspection or filter change in 5 plus years. I mainly only wanted the filter change and to inspect the heater. Although I like the product, I may have to look elsewhere for servicing.

Always send a postcard saying it is time for the inspection. Easy to schedule. They are in and out. No problems.

Salesman took the time to explain options and gave us a couple of choices. He was very detailed and explaining what was being replaced, added and removed. He was available several times after the initial meeting to answer any other questions we had prior to use selecting Estes. When the technicians got there to install the new unit, they were on time and very knowledgeable about what had to be done. Once the job was done they cleaned up their area inside and out and ran several tests to ensure all units were performing correctly. I had used Estes in the past but stepped away for a few years because of the service man that would come out to do our checkups and his attitude and gruffness as well as the cost of getting a 2nd opinion. He is no longer with the company and the gentleman that is now in place is knowledgeable of his trade and has customer service techniques.
