EARTHLINK

I would warn people not to use Earthlink. I just did away with them. You have to start the process online. First, they are not very competitive price wise with the service they are providing. They have taken all of their tech support, which you are going to need. They are not the people that are running the wires to your house, they subcontract with like AT&T. The problem that you've got is their speeds are slow. Then when you start talking to tech support everybody that you talk to is in India. They all have a script that they have memorized and their English is not very good. They don't understand it. Having a discussion with them is extremely painful. You are having 2 different discussions. They are trying to talk to you about something and you are trying to explain to them something else. They fail across the board. I just switched over to AT&T and it is a vast improvement.

Earthlink provides adequate service. I suppose there are cheaper services out there but they are a decent speed, and I have had a few minor frustrations but I think it is worth the money to have something reliable and fast. I have frustrations with their tech support in India but I suppose that is the same case in most communications companies. They did get it resolved.

IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE TO DISCONTINUE SERVICE. TRIED 6 TIMES BEFORE FINALLY GETTING THROUGH THE HOLD TIME TO SPEAK WITH A REPRESENTATIVE TO CANCEL ACCOUNT. REPRESENTATIVE, A SUPERVISOR, FINALLY DEACTIVATED ACCOUNT, BUT I AM STILL RECEIVING PHONE CALLS FOR FURTHER PAYMENT AND TO REINSTATE ACCOUNT, THOUGH I HAVE INSTRUCTED COMPANY TO NOT CONTACT ME.
