+ -1 moreThe repairmen arrived at the agreed time, he observed the work required and proceeded to service both garage doors. He fixed the cables and pulleys on the doors. He then worked on the garage opener and installed new door sensors. All issues were addressed and the garage door work properly. I have used Dunwoody Door Lift in the past, they are reliable, courteous and very professional. I will recommend them in the future.

Description of Work: When our garage door failed to open, we finally determined that we had a broken spring. We consulted Angie's List and chose Dunwoody Door Lift Co. because of the high ratings. We called them and explained that the door would not open, and they immediately suggested a broken spring. We set an appointment for the following day. The service man arrived on schedule, determined that a spring was indeed broken, and replaced it with a new spring in about half an hour. We paid him by check and he left.

I didn't believe what I heard in response: the lady on the phone said the price to have someone to come over and take a look was 80 dollars to take a look and that the company just comes to do the service. She said GASOLINE IS 4 DOLLARS A GALLON AND THEY DON'T RUN AROUND TOWN GIVING FREE ESTIMATES. ABSURD!!!! My response was: then you don't get the service!

Description of Work: My garage door is old, and although the motor continues to work, and mechanism that raised the door was broken. He fixed that, and cleaned the light. I thought that he was excellent. At the price was very good, and I would strongly recommend using this company.

Description of Work: Dunwoody Door Lift performed a general maintenance and lubrication in September 2011. I recently called them to see about another general maintenance checkup and was told that if I was not having problems, I didn't need to have this done for 2-3 years after the last maintenance. I first used Dunwoody Door Lift in the 1980's when I backed into my closed garage door from inside my garage. I was in a hurry to leave so, instead of pushing the button on the wall of my garage as I headed to my car, I decided I'd just push the remote after I got into my car. Well, that didn't happen, and I backed into the closed, double garage door. I contacted Dunwoody Door Lift and another company. The other company said that my garage door, which was wood, could not be repaired and that I needed to spend hundreds of dollars for a new one - I think over $800, which I could not afford. Dunwoody Door Lift was able to bolt my wood garage door back together using angle iron. The door worked perfectly and from the outside, no damage was visible. When I sold that house in December 1995, they installed a new garage door. Dunwoody Door Lift has also installed a new garage door on my current home. When I need repairs or just a general checkup, they respond very quickly. I recommend them highly and I am glad to see that they are on Angie's List. Please note, that the repair noted above was performed at my previous residence in Dunwoody, and since I no longer live there, I do not want to provide the address.

When I placed the call late in the afternoon (nearly 4:30!), the owner told me one of the company technicians was in the field and might be able to come by that day. The technician, David, called to say he was booked but could come by first thing in the morning. David was there right on time the following morning and was wonderful! He was very professional, courteous, kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable. While we were concerned that our buckling door needed to be completely replaced, something that we hoped to avoid due to the extreme cost and the fact that we are facing trying to short sale our home, David said he thought it just needed some TLC and went to work. He fixed the unraveled coil, reset all of the wheels, adjusted the rollers and the speed, oiled all parts, and thoroughly checked everything. Our old door is running like never before! Thank you, David, for an incredible job and for being a sincerely honest and nice person. We will definitely recommend the Dunwoody Door Lift Company and will definitely use them again, and will certainly ask for David.

He also inspected our other door and then billed me what I felt to be a most reasonable price. All in all a professional company that is a pleasure to do business with.
Description of Work: They came out and replaced a snapped garage door opener cable. The iron bar the cable was attached to also broke off from the ceiling joist and had to be reafixed.

It had a loud popping sound that frequently occured upon opening and closing, The company that installed the door had worked on it several times with the last service man man recommending a new door and opener for $2,159.95. Kevin came out from Dunwoody Door and said that a new door wasn't needed, He reinforced the hinges causing the problem and it has been fine since. It's good to learn of this company. their professionalism. honesty and excellent work quality. I will use them again and highly recommend them to others.

They had another customer not far from us, but they were already scheduled to go to and they finished their work and then took care of us and that was pretty wonderful. + -1 moreWhen one of the springs broke on our insulated double garage door, we called Dunwoody Door Lift company and talked to Ken, the owner. He answered the phone, listened to our explanation of the problem and let us know that they could fix it the same day. Since our cars were trapped inside the garage and we could not get them out, Ken offered to come over and help me raise the door manually. He and his wife made it over to the house and we were able to "free" the automobiles. The service was done quickly, and the quality was great. They were responsive and professional. I would recommend them to others. Thanks!

+ -1 moreI called up mid-afternoon to schedule a time for a garage repair, and they were able to come later that afternoon. Kevin came by about 5:30 to start working on the broken spring. Within an hour he had replaced both springs, and installed the new keyless entry pad on the door. Kevin spent the time to explain everything to me and made sure I was happy with how everything worked at the end. Price was maybe a touch on the high end, but that was more than compensated for with their quick responsiveness and great service. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely look to use them again -- though hopefully not for another 10 years!

Recommended replacing pulleys (they were probably 25 years old) on our doors, which has also definitely made a difference in the operation of the doors. Things now work great without having to replace most expensive parts. Cost was a bit more than i hoped for but good quality too.
