I made the mistake of trusting he did the job and paid him before checking the job. A month later the grass in that zone was dead and when I tested the heads none of them were lined up to water the zone of grass they were supposed to be watering. The heads were not adjusted for spray nor direction. Two were spraying across the entire street (literally) and watering the neighbors yard. (Of course he swears they were tested right after the job was completed. But if that was the case how could all of the heads be misaligned only 45 days later? Hmmm..) Understand that the entire system has five zones and George only worked on one of those zones. The other zones have not had any issues, only the zone that George worked on is causing issues. There are other issues with that zone now, which I don't know how he could have anything to do with, but it isn't worth having the discussions with him as he will talk your ear off and explain how you don't know what you are talking about, thus "trust" him. I agree with the other report submitted that this guy is a great personality and salesman. I believe that he brokers out the job and takes half the money for himself and when it is done wrong he has all kinds of "expert" reasons as to why it isn't working. He isn't anyone I would use or trust to do any other jobs around the place because I cannot count on him to take responsiblity for the job if it isn't done correctly or if there are unforseen problems. You only see the integrity of a company when things go wrong, not when things go right. Again, if the work is done correctly by the sub contractor, then you will be fine.
Description of Work: George was recommended by another company that I trust and respect and thus let him quote and do the job thinking it would be taken care of by him with no issues. It was a simple move of about half a dozen sprinker heads.

Trees were removed by a separate company as he could not do it. He ordered 1/4 the amount of sod required, had day labor lay sod and attempt to build a retaining wall of which they had no idea what they were doing. He did not pay them or the provider of the timbers so both continually call me seeking money. Never finished wall, stairs, back fill for wall, sod or removal of debris from fence line. Paid 60% up front and the tree service showed up- felt good about. Became very hard to get on the job in the coming months. I gave just under 9 months for him to complete the work (of which he never laid a finger on) and even tried to settle with him for a fraction of the cost. He continually pushed, getting me to pay another $1000 here and there showing up occasionally to get started again, only to disappear. I had numerous expensive personal items stolen from my backyard coincidentally during this time- specifically the last day he was 'on the job". I do not know and can not say if it was him, the unqualified day labor he didn't pay or simply coincident- just a way things happened. I have tried to settle with George for the last 4 months for a fraction of what it will take to finish my backyard- he has finally stopped taking or returning my calls... or leading me on. A neighbor employed him at the same time and had a much larger amount of money stolen as he got no work at all done on his property. I have since installed cameras on my property as the day labor and he have showed up numerous times. BEWARE- Maurice George Dixon is a scam artist and quite a good one at that.
