They were a hundred times cheaper than three other providers, for the same thing, pretty much. We were like, and you're gonna do what? We walked it through twice; my husband was under the house in the crawlspace making sure they're gonna do X, Y, and Z just like the other quotes. So we went with them.

From start to finish this company did a fantastic job. Jordon inspected our crawlspace, took pictures, and then talked us through what needed to be done. He took a no frills approach and didn't try to oversell the job. He was very knowledgeable and well-spoken. We were given an onsite estimate and a start date before Jordon left. The crew that completed the work was on time, worked continuously, cleaned everything up, and were just as polite! One of the best things was that the owner of this company, Jim Briley, worked right along side his crew. He answered .all of our questions in detail. We had a few questions after the job was finished and he responded immediately. They even left their work lights. We would not hesitate one second to recommend this company. Fantastic warranty! Oh and our resident black snake had to find a new home!
Description of Work: Mold removed and crawlspace encapsulated. This included removing the insulation under the floor, installing a sump pump, and a dehumidifier. New crawl space door installed. Area to be completed was around 2100 sq ft. We did not have to install new insulation as it was not needed. All unwanted junk was taken away too!

It went very well. Jim Briley sent out Jordan to initially look at the project. He was very punctual and nice. They got back to us quickly with a price and several options to consider. We agreed on a plan and the work was done very efficiently and professionally. Jim, the owner, came to finish up the project with the custom made crawl space doors. He was very nice and we have been very pleased with all his work and communication. We would definitely recommend crawlspaces.com of Georgia.

First off, I am a female homeowner in Gwinnett County that couldn’t stand the issues underneath the house any longer. I had to fix my dark, small, uneven, and smelly crawlspace to make it ... less scary. I started the crawlspace project about 2 year ago, and dropped it after gathering estimates that did not make any sense when putting them side by side - issues, solutions and prices were all over the place. Then, In April 2016 I decided to give it another try and called three companies that could provide a solution and a fair price – however, I am willing to pay big bucks for high quality solutions and exceptional service. My biggest accomplishment was selecting CRAWLSPACE.COM to manage my project. You should see what CRAWLSPACE.COM crew did to the space underneath my house … it is amazing … so white, clean, even, mold free, well lit and functional. A special thank you note to the owner “Jim Briley” that provided me with an initial itemized estimate that was easy to read and understand highlighting the right and necessary elements to fix and forget about the crawlspace for many years I am a very happy customer.
Description of Work: Lights, a sump pump, a dehumidifier, the encapsulation, a new door, the grading of the ground and vapor barrier were the solution. A complete success!

The crawlspace in my 1927 built home had many issues. There was no vapor barrier at all, just exposed dirt so it was always humid. It had mold on the floor joists. Every few months in a very hard rain I would have water getting in turning the dirt to mud. Worst of all, we had rats! Jim and his guys took care of all of these and turned the crawlspace into a usable space. The three man crew that did the work is very hard working and professional. I liked that once they started the job, they were there everyday until the job was done. My crawlspace needed a lot of work, so it took about two weeks to finish. Jim is very knowledgeable and was great to work with. I have had a lot of work done to this home in the two years that I've owned it. This job was by far the most satisfying thing that I have done! I can tell a big difference in the humidity levels of my living space. I would recommend them to anyone!
Description of Work: Cleaned out crawlspace, installed lighting, leveled dirt, built retaining walls, installed vapor barrier, installed french drain and sump pump, poured concrete, installed spray foam insulation on foundation walls.
Jim is busy so he doesn't always respond right away. It is seemingly due to the fact that he does great work at a competitive price. He totally solved our problems with water settling in our crawlspace, which casued mold and mildew. He has many creative options. I didn't think I could get concrete until he mentioned it. Now I have a dry and expansive storage area with no issues. He also strung and left lights, which is a subtle point but makes a material difference. He also put the sump pump on a separate breaker. The lights, breaker, and concrete are all things that no one else offers.
Description of Work: Graded dirt in crawlspace, installed lights, installed hard pipe French drain, installed sump pump, install vapor barrier and then poured 3.5" of concrete over top, killed and removed mold, removed fiberglass.

I have already written a detailed summary.
Description of Work: French drains and water proofing outside.
The whole project was great. Jim is a really smart and competent guy. He started the job within a week of me first calling him and was finished in 2 working days. My crawlspace looks great and stays dry. I recently had plumbers come work on our pipes and they said it was the nicest crawlspace they'd ever been in. They really appreciated being in a clean space without bugs, mold, or standing water. They also appreciated how warm it was (around 60 degrees) when it was about 35 degrees outside. There are several reasons to seal your crawlspace: more usable space in your home, preventing moisture, mold, and pest damage, or improving your home's energy efficiency. We wanted all of these and think it will be a worthwhile investment over the years. I highly recommend Jim and Crawlspaces.com of Georgia.

The crawlspace under the house was flooded after the recent period of heavy rains. We pumped out the water but it was flooded again the next day. Time to call in the experts! After reading all the reviews on Angie?s List, we called Jim Briley, owner of Crawlspaces.com. Jim came out the next morning and looked over the situation. He determined that the water was percolating up through the ground rather than a leak in the foundation. He recommended a solution, breaking the process down step by step. He quoted a cost for each step and made recommendations about what needs to be done ?right now? and what could be put off until later if the budget was a problem. He even pointed out several things that we could probably skip altogether. Ultimately it made sense to buy the whole encapsulation package. After we agreed on the work to be done, Jim said he could have a crew out the next day and that everything would be completed in only three days. Jim?s crew arrived right on schedule and immediately went to work clearing everything out of the crawlspace. Next they removed the insulation from under the floor, sealed the vents, and treated the entire area for mold and mildew. They dug a French drain around the inside perimeter and installed a sump pump. They put down a ground cover and sealed it to the foundation walls, leaving just enough space above the cover for termite inspections. Next they brought in fill dirt to fill in some low areas around the foundation. Finally they installed a new insulated, lockable crawlspace door. The crew installed lights in the crawlspace for their use while working under the house. They left the lights in place for our use in the future. The water heater needed to be replaced. The crew removed the old water heater and installed the new one . . . no additional charge. The job was completed at the quoted price; no additional charges or cost overruns. Everything was completed on time exactly as scheduled. The job site was left clean and neat. The crawlspace is no longer a scary place to get into. The encapsulation system has a transferable lifetime warranty ?against water intrusion into the crawlspace.? The warranty stays with the home even if the home is sold. There have been at least three heavy rains since the installation. No water has accumulated in the crawlspace and the top of the plastic liner has remained dry. The water is being pumped out automatically through an underground pipe that drains out at the side of the road and down to a storm drain. We are very pleased with Crawlspaces.com?s encapsulation installation. Jim Briley is a true professional. He knows what he?s doing, does what he says he?ll do, and gets the job done on time and on budget. We highly recommend Crawlspaces.com to anyone with similar crawlspace flooding problems.

The two employees who worked on the project were very knowledgeable. They talked through several different solutions and pros and cons of each. The scope of the project grew immensely from what was originally quoted due to the discovery of a moisture issue, but their prices remained reasonable. I did have trouble getting a hold of anyone for a couple of weeks during the project. They were nearly done, but needed to install an exterior door to the crawlspace as well as provide drainage to prevent water from getting in the door. I was considered when I was unable to get a hold of anyone, but once the door was ready for install, they promptly came out and did a great job with both the door and drainage.
Description of Work: Crawlspaces.com dug out created an entrance to a crawlspace that prior had no access. Upon entering the space, they found a moisture problem. They encapsulated the space, reinforced the floor joists (some had rot), and treated the mold/mildew.

Update: My call was returned today and he came out today. Nice guy. Veryinformative and helpful. Spent a lot of time going over my options and giving me ideas. Due to the great reviews for crawlspaces.com I contacted them, twice. I have never heard back from them.

We got three estimates -- two from name-brand crawlspace specialists, one from Crawlspaces.com of Georgia, Jim Briley's family-owned service. We chose Jim based upon our personal impression of him, his knowledge and experience, Angie's list recommendations, and his more than competitive price. A big plus was that Jim took care of plumbing problems himself, saving us big bucks. Jim and his crew were prompt, efficient, and professional. The finished job not only looked good to us but received rave reviews from our termite man, who knows the crawlspace industry first-hand. I have waited until now to write a review because I wanted to be certain that the mildew problem, which has plagued us for several years, had been successfully addressed. I am delighted to report that we have had not a hint of mildew this summer, even after the house had been closed up for an extended period of time. One of the bonuses of going with Crawlspace.com was getting to know Jim, a first-rate human being.

I purposefully waited these 2 months to put my review into Angies list because I wanted to make sure that I was giving a truthful recommendation. I would definitely use these guys again if needed on another home. I say another home - because I shouldn't ever have to use them for this home again. The work was done for the most part without me there - I wasn't worried at all about my house being vulnerable to theft - because it wasn't. I offered for the guys to go into the house - but if they did, I have no idea because it wasn't messy at all. Back to the work - everything was done correctly and the basement hasn't had any issues. The quote was accurate and our emails back and forth provided additional information later when we had a bit of miscommunication. It however was quickly cleared up and all was great. I've already recommended them to a few other people and they are in the process of getting a quote now. Again - no issues at all.

Due to my prior experience with an Angie's list highly recommended contractor who took my money and did not remediate the mold which he contracted to do, and and caused another problem which caused fiberglass and mold to get into my heating and air conditioning systems, which caused me to have eye and respiratory infections, me the contract was contingent upon a mold inspection. . At the start of the remediation the mold levels were around 9900.. The mold inspection disclosed a level of 160 (all levels are for penicillium aspergillus)I after Mr. Briley completed his work. I cannot speak too highly of Crawlspaces.com. Another factor in its favor is that Mr. Briley has been in the construction business and often point out little things that need to be fixed, which would eventually cause a big problem., even thought he is not required to do so under his contract.. His work crew is knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to please plus has exceptional technical expertise. Working with him was a pleasure.
Description of Work: After a highly rated contractor on Angie's list failed to re mediate the mold in my house and created another problem by improperly installing fiberglass insulation, which caused me to have eye and respiratory infections I hired Jim Briley of Crawlspaces.com. He removed all of the dirt from my crawlspace, put in support columns and beams, treated the crawlspace and adjacent rooms for mold, removed all of the moldy fiberglass insulation from the lower level of my house and replaced it with foam insulation, installed lighting in the former crawlspace, which is now unfinished basement, took the dirt from the crawlspace and spread it over my lawn and covered it with straw.

I had a seepage in my basement on one of the walls. I had three contractors come and give me estimates. Two of the contractors went straight for the high end solution to the problem. Crawlspace gave me a much simplier way to fix the problem. The others could have, but, as I said, went straight for the high end solution. I chose Crawlspace for the price. They were very professional and customer service was A+. It took us three times to get it completed mainly because of the weather not the contractor. They came and tore off the sheetrock and exposed the crack. They drilled holes in the crack and inserted hollow plugs. Then cemented the exposed crack. Then injected expanding filler/sealant into the plugs to fill up the crack inside. After that was complete, they replaced sheetrock and baseboard and got the wall ready for me to finish painting (my decision to paint myself). I repainted and you can't even tell where it was removed. This work is guaranteed for the life of the house and is transferable if house is sold. I am totally happy with the work and feel confident of the work due to the warranty. I highly recommend this contractor for work. I will definitely call them again if needed in the future. But hopefully, won't need them.

Having this work done is not inexpensive and because you don't see the results daily (it's in the crawl space), I wasn't eager to have it done. I bit the bullet, am glad I did, and am glad I chose this company. I met with two other companies. One much larger and I felt like I was meeting with the classic used car salesman or aluminum siding salesman. That company's presentation was quite slick and the meeting lasted a very long time. I did not appreciate their sales approach. The other company I met with was a small company and the owner was very nice but I felt that his knowledge was not as extensive as Jim's. In fact, when I talked with my cousin who is an expert in this field, he told me that Jim's recommendations were absolutely correct. Jim is a top-notch professional. I liked that Jim would be here personally to oversee the work and help do parts of it with his team. His team was also top-notch. I was very pleased with the team's dedication to detail, keeping the worksite clean and working hard in pretty tough conditions (very cramped crawl space and very cold weather). Working with Jim felt like working with an old friend who had my best interest at heart. He charges a fair price and does excellent work. What more do you really want or need? One of Jim's team members accidentally chipped and cracked a piece of trim work on my house. When Jim learned about this, he fixed it immediately and never complained once. I know that may not seem like a big deal but it is. I've had many companies work on my house over the years, and accidents happen. Perhaps you'd be surprised how many times contractors don't tell you about it, seem indifferent about it, or gripe about fixing it. Jim immediately made things right. While Jim was working on our crawl space I asked him if he could replace my cracked concrete carport floor. His price was great and he did a great job. I love how it looks. I am not easily impressed but I was very impressed with Jim, his team, and their work. I highly recommend Jim. You will be more than pleased.
