I signed up for HVAC maintenance service with Cool Air through their affiliation with Costco. The service was on schedule and excellent quality. Very good value for the services provided. The service provider was pleasant and professional. He had a few adjustments to the systems.

We had a new Lennox syatem put in; heating and air, last February. They were very efficient and quick. They worked all day. We have two years of maintenance. We had a problem once, which wasn't totally their fault. They came out and were very efficient, they came immediately. They already knew the problem because a couple of other units had already the same problem. They came out, fixed it and didn't charge us.

We were originally approached by Cool Air because they are the preferred HVAC company for Costco. So immediately we trusted the company because of the Costco connection. However, the Costco offering wasn't exactly what we were looking for - - but Cool Air was able to install the TRANE systems we really wanted, at an amazing price. Their service was excellent. They were always on time. AND.... part of using Cool air is that your first 'maintenance' check is free (1 year later). And guess what... it's been one year and THEY just called to schedule our free maintenance. Great company. I would 100% recommend them.
Description of Work: Cool Air installed two complete HVAC units in our home - A/C and Heat. They also installed the NEST thermostat - - LOVE the NEST (expensive, but totally worth it).

I used this company due to their deal with Costco. I was able to get a better quality furnace at the price others were quoting for lower quality ones. The interface w/ the Costco rep at the Cool Air was great as was the sales person and installation staff. My only quibble is that I requested that the manuals etc be sent to me instead of being left at the property due to it being a rental and this has never happened. They also seem to have a real problem getting my name right. According to my property manager the install was good and went well.

I called them and they responded within a few hours arriving at my home. They assessed the whole house A/C system and quickly gave me my options. The units are 15 years old and probably need to be replaced in the future but in the mean time they added coolant and the problem was solved. They were very professional and knowledgeable. I am going to use them again in the future and to assist me with replacing my units.

I couldn't be happier!!! I though it was impossible to have an even temperature through out the house with so many windows. I had the original builder tell me that the size of the HVAC unit was adequate to the size of the house but I had too many windows; therefore, unless I'd change the windows the temperature of the house was not going to be the same........ It was frustrating because not only the temperature was uneven and it took too long to heat/cool the house, there was also lots of dust everywhere just couple of days after cleaning it. I called Cool Air Mechanical to see what other options I had. From the 1st phone conversation with the company I was impressed with their professional approach. The sale person as well as the installers were informative, always on time, respectful of my home and professional. And they wore booties :-) They installed larger size unit, dehumidifier, new filtration system and what my kids love the most, IComfort Thermostat that can be programmed from any smart phone of computer. We now have a very comfortable temperature everywhere in the house, better air quality, and we even safe money on utility bill since this new unit is lot more energy sufficient.
Description of Work: I have a 2 story house but only 1 unit that was undersized; therefore, it was difficult to evenly cool/heat the house. Cool Air Mechanical installed brand new larger unit, dehumidifier, hepa air filter, and I-Comfort thermostat.

Probably the best service company I have ever used. The sales person explained all my options clearly. The installers were on time, explained exactly how the day would go and even spent the time to set up the thermostat and let me know how to use them. The installers wore booties and put down drop clothes, vacuumed the house and actually left it looking better than when they came. Lastly, I felt comfortable knowing who was in my house since Cool Air does background and drug checks on all their employees. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.

I recently purchased a 3 ton AC unit, variable speed furnace, and steam humidifier from Cool Air Mechanical. I found out about this company via a brochure from my local Costco. The proposal process went well and they worked with me to get me the unit I wanted at a competitive price. I felt like they really wanted my business. The installation went smooth and except for the steam humidifier was completed in one day. They were professional and cleaned up both outside and in. The humidifier issue was that they had the wrong unit. They had a 220v unit and needed the 120v version so it could be direct wired. I was told the only difference was voltage. The next week Marvin and Nima installed the humidifier and completed the job. After installation I researched the humidifier settings online. There was a difference in the unit proposed and the one installed. Proposed was a 23 gallon unit installed was a 16 gallon. I contacted my sales person and was told that while the S2020 unit was proposed it was at the S2000 price so no difference in cost. He was unaware and found the issue was no room in my panel and the breaker needed by the 220v unit. I was told to monitor the humidity during the winter months and if the humidity was off they would make it right. According to the manufacturer website, the 16 gallon unit should be sufficient for the size of my home. Overall a good experience. Better communication on the swap of equipment would have gotten an overall score of A. If I could have I'd have rated this a B+.

The technician that came could not have been less knowledgeable about HVAC systems. My primary reason for hiring this company was to assess my system for proper function, as the humidity level has been elevated in my home. Upon expressing this, the technician insisted that A/C units humidify the air and not dehumidify it. This could not be further from the truth. A properly functioning HVAC unit will naturally dehumidify the air has air moves over the cold evaporator coils. The "assessment" was a joke. I was with him 100% of the time during which he checked the voltage on the HVAC transformer and the capacitance of the capacitors. That's it. He then went outside and checked the refrigerant charge, which was low. He did not measure the weight of the can before or after charging! I literally said it FEELS like a pound and charged me $55. He also had difficulty interpreting the chart of Lennox sub-cool guidelines. Given these guys sell Lennox systems I found this to be particularly alarming. A proper assessment of the system involves more than just hooking the guage up to the condenser and reading the temperatures. You should be cleaning the indoor blower, the evaporator coil and condenser coils, checking the internal duct static pressure and the amp draw on the blower motor, record temperature difference across the evaporator coil, etc. The technician didn't do ANY of that. You cannot accurately measure sub cooling if the system is not clean. These folks are just out to soak you for a quick $135 and not give you the service you paid for. Simple as that. Additionally filing this complaint with Costco where I heard about these bozos.

There were issues with our equipment but it wasn’t anything that they did wrong. They did a good job. They were open to alternatives; they gave me several different options on what I could or couldn’t do. They were very helpful. I had no problems. The big deal was $35 but it went way above that because they ended up replacing the unit.

I signed up at Costco for an air conditioning and heating service contract provide by Cool Air Mechanical. The rate was $159 for the first unit and $99 for the second; this is for two service calls per year (air conditioning in spring and heating in fall) and the company offered a second year for free. 4 semi-annual service calls... an awesome deal :-) I believe this was a limited time offer, but they're at Cumberland Costco regularly with a variety of deals. As promised, the company contacted me the day before to confirm my appointment. My service technician Fred showed up on time and did an awesome job! He cleaned the blower unit, changed the air filter, unclogged the drain tube, inspected the full system, checked the Freon levels, cleaned the outdoor fans, and much more. A very thorough job! I'm confident that my A/C will perform flawlessly this summer. Thanks Cool Air!

Great price quote. Salesman Stan was respectful of our needs and budget. He did a survey of our house, including all the vents, furnace, AC , and blower. The installation team, Todd and Elio, came the very next day. #1 ... they cleaned up completely before they left the job site. #2 They worked quietly and quickly, the complete system replacement was done in 5 hours. #3 Incredible attention to detail as they installed and assembled the units. The equipment was installed in a very organized fashion, very professional. #4 Todd and Elio were very professional and personable. They walked me through the finished work, explained the new systems to me. They even offered advice on how to relocate my natural gas supply line to my stove. Cool Air is one of only 2 vendors or service providers of any kind I would absolutely recommend without a second thought.

First, let me say this has truly been a nightmare dealing with this company. I was referred to them from a friend. Mr. Andrews was nice when he came to give his sales pitch on his dehumidifiers. It was a pleasant visit and I chose to go with him after he assured me that once I spent $6,000 on his unit, I would never have mold. He told me all I had to do was replace the filters once a year through his company. He sold me a bigger unit than my neighbor's house even though her house is twice as big as mine. They ducted my home where air would come from outside. For a few years I suppose it felt okay in the home air wise but in the winter we always had this cold air coming through the vents which to me made us have to turn the heat up more and the same way with the cooling. Hot hair is coming in and we are trying to cool if off. It really didn't make sense but I thought some how this was better. So, a couple of years ago, I called or sent an E-mail to Rob Woohouse. I have never dealt with anyone so rude in my entire life. If I start to question him about anything with the dehumidifer, he will speak over me as if I'm not even talking. I would ask him to stop and let me finish but he would continue to talk over me so disrespectfully. I admit, that man can get on your nerves and I yelled at him a few times over our latest issue. I have been asking for two years, "Why does it feel sticky in the house?" "I smells musty so what's this from?" "I have a spot on my window". Mr. Woodhouse would ignore the question and say, '"it's working." I asked him, "How would I know if it's not working?" Mr. Woodhouse responded, "You will have mold." So, stupid me went along with bullcrap. Well, about three weeks ago, I called Mr. Woodhouse and told him, "Guess what? We have MOLD! He could care less...I told him I need someone to come take a look and see what the issue is. Mr. Woodhouse told me, "We don't service the units." I told Mr. Woodhouse, "What do you mean? I was never told this? After an arguing over this because Mr. Woodhouse would just talk over me again, I yelled at him and said, ""Stop treating me this way!" He would play a game with me where he would say, "You are yelling at me and I'm not going to speak to you if you are yelling." He would say it when I wasn't yelling which in turn made me want to yell at him!!! What a sick game you play, Mr. Woodhouse. So, finally he tells me he can send another person named Ronnie Martin but Ronnie doesn't work for them. I was desperate and said, "Yes." Ronnie Martin came and handed me his business card that read HealthAir South Atlanta. That was confusing to me as Mr. Woodhouse told me they are no way connected. Ronnie Martin started to tinker with my unit and while he is doing so, telling me how bad HealthyAir is and that he has to service them all now because the owner (Mr. Andrews) son didn't want to do the service anymore and there were a ton of complaints. I was listening but no talking to much to get a feel for where Mr. Martin was going. Ronnie Martin told me I had three leaks and the compressor was kind of hot. He told me he could build me another one for $7,000! I said, "Why can't you fix this one?" Well, here is the big kicker. Mr. Martin told me they stopped making these units a couple of years ago and if he couldn't find the parts, he would look for a refurbished unit. I didn't get mad and said, "Okay, this is fine." Well, I was mad! Why was I not told this information during the many conversations I had with Mr. Woodhouse concerning the stickiness in the house and such?? Well, I suppose because he knew they weren't making them anymore and he would just keep ignoring me hoping I would not find out! So, Mr. Martin left my home and he did call me the next day telling me of course, there are no parts and no refurbished unit which is just wonderful because we have high levels of mold in our basement! This company which is a remediation company didn't even offer to help or offer for us to pay to come look at the mold!!! The very next day, my husband goes down to the basement and the dehumidifer is leaking everywhere and it has NEVER leaked before! We call the office and get Mr. Woodhouse. Again, he is not very interested but finally called Mr. Martin. Mr. Martin calls me and I am furious because there is water going everywhere and he had the never to blame ME that I must have touched or did something to it! We argued over it for a while as he could not keep his story straight telling me he must have left it on so that would make it flood and then he would say I must have turned it off for that could make it leak. It was so crazy, I hung up on him. We spoke to Mr. Woodhouse again and then again on a conference call with my husband, me, Mr. Woodhouse and Ronnie Martin. Finally, we figured out they had installed a breaker which we knew nothing about so we turned it off. On the conference call, I asked Ronnie Martin, "Why didn't you tell us there was a breaker." Well you guess it, all we heard was the dial tone where Mr. Ronnie Martin hung up. A few days later I call Mr. Woodhouse on a Friday and ask to speak to the owner (Mr. Andrews). He said, "He's not in but he would have him call me." The owner never called us back. I called that Saturday on a whim Mr. Woodhouse would be there and he was. I asked him, "Why didn't you have the owner call us, this is an emergency situation with all the mold?" Mr. Woodhouse responded, "Even Mr. Andrews deserves a Saturday off." Can you believe this is how someone in an office treats a family who is in a crisis. We have no idea how long this dehumidifer wasn't working! My family have had health issues over. My son gets rashes on his eyelids, itching, red rashes. My daughter is only 10 and gets headaches every day, sinus issues, itching. For me, it's a breathing issue and headaches. Luckily for my husband he travels all the time so it's not too bad for him. So, out of the blue Mr. Andrews call us. He was totally rude to me. He said, "I remember you. You are the pretty lady with a temper." I told Mr. Andrews, "What are you talking about? I've only met you one time and that is when you sold me your system and it was very pleasant?" He just started talking about something else. I guess they are going to try to pin this on the housewife being irrational. I think that is the new game the terrible companies play. They speak to my husband totally different but unfortunately for me, my husband is gone all the time so I have to deal with these totally inept, rude, uncaring, people. During this phone call with Mr. Andrews, I started crying. He didn't care. He told me he would try to find the parts and when I got the test back on how much mold was in the air to call him. We did get the results back and they were elevated! I called him, and again I reached Mr. Woodhouse. NOTHING! Mr. Woodhouse tell me he knows nothing about anybody looking for parts for me!!! He sends me a nasty email that even though they don't do this, he is taking the time to look for the parts. Mr. Andrews NEVER spoke to me again. I received an email that looked like it was from him, but I'm not sure where it came from. Also, Mr. Woodhouse will never sign an e-mail like he doesn't want you to know who he is. Very stupid. Anyway, to sum it all up the letter told me, they can't find the parts and pretty much to kiss their ******. Wow, unbelievable to me how owner of company that is supposedly allergic to mold, JUST AS I AM, could careless that his unit had not been working properly for years but his office kept telling me it was and now as I sit here today, WE HAVE MOLD MR. ANDREWS! I would love to blame it on a small amount of water that came under the basement door, but that's not the reason because way before this happened during a storm, I saw the dark spot on the window seal but thought it was dirt. Turns out it was MOLD! So most of the time this great HEALTHYAIR DEHUMIDIFER was in our home, it wasn't even working!!!! This is a very dishonest company. I can tell you this much. I DO NOT LIE. I CANNOT STAND A LIAR! YOUR COMPANY IS A FRAUD AS FAR AS MY FAMILY IS CONCERNED. We have been waiting over three weeks now for insurance to see if they will cover it. Well, guess what? it's a big NO!! SO, we have to pay for a new dehumidifier, hall this piece of crap off, replace a windows, floor, carpet, wall, etc., all because MR. WOODHOUSE would not listen to me with all my complaints over the years with this HEALTHYAIR DV400!! So, if anyone has this unit, beware..Make sure it is working properly. Hire an A/C person to look at it. I was told, "IT NEVER NEEDED TO BE SERVICED OTHER THAN WE BUY FILTERS FOR IT! A BIG FAT LIE! I have spoken to many people concerning this. A lot of mold experts can't believe a MOLD REMEDIATION COMPANY WOULD CARE SO LITTLE ABOUT THEIR OWN PRODUCTS OR CUSTOMERS AND LEAVE THEM WITH MOLD IN THEIR HOME AND NOT EVEN OFFER TO HELP CLEAN IT UP! I assure you this company is going to respond and say I'm some crazy housewife. I'm sure a lot of contractors might say this because you know why???? I CAN"T STAND LIARS and I won't just sit here and pretend YOU DID NOTHING WRONG! We are contacting the Better Business Bureau, an attorney, etc. My whole intention here is to warn people to be very careful when picking these types of companies. It can greatly affect you and your families health if these units are not checked to see if it is are working. We are paying the price now, healthwise and financially. This whole experience has taught me a great deal about mold and his health risks. Don't take it lightly. I never knew it cause this much heartache. I have had two companies out here to look at it and they both told me the same thing. IT WAS INSTALLED WRONG! People have to be strong and firm with these types of jerks. You have to protect your family. THEY WONT!

They did not do a full inspection. Within the month, two things broke. I do not feel that they did a thorough job inspecting. He replaced the condensate pump, and he put everything back except the line that the water goes out of. I also called him back to fix two things that he said I needed to do in the inspection but they never called me back.
Description of Work: He was doing an inspection on my four ac units.
