+ -1 moreMr. Ostrej has done an excellent job to date. We will continue to engage him as our project requires. He is extremely knowledgeable about the early obstacles likely to be encountered in a complex project like ours, rehabilitation/renovation of a 110 year old house to a rental property. He had excellent design and re-design ideas that made spaces more efficient. His attention to details, that as an owner I would never know about, were impressive and appreciated. Mr. Ostrej was professional, thorough, and punctual. He ended up locating and communicating with the engineers who were charged with creating CDs for the mechanicals, electrical, and plumbing. I would never have been able to articulate back to the engineers what the City told me we needed to revise. His "registered" certification gives him an added level of knowledge and experience than a non-registered architect, and this has been helpful in our project. Thank you.
Description of Work: Another architect had created an initial design for our multi-family conversion of a single family house to 5 apartments. We needed a "registered" architect when we started the permitting process b/c our project was considered commercial not residential. The services performed were expanding the design drawings to a FULL set of CDs (construction drawings) that would be submitted with the permit application. This required knowledge of the commercial building codes. In the process there were some design enhancements/changes that were made to improve the original design of the project and also to reduce anticipated construction costs. The architect's attendance with the owner at meetings with the different City building departments was performed to add integrity to the process.
