Roland (the inspector) showed up on time. As this is my first home purchase, he took the time and walked me through exactly what the inspection would entail. During the inspection, Roland would point out each and every issue and tell me (i) how serious it was; (ii) why it was an issue; (iii) how difficult it would be to fix; and (iv) a general estimate on what he thought it would take to fix if it was something that required a professional. Roland was very patient and answered all of my questions. He also gave me a lot of general information regarding construction and renovating homes. His report was provided the next business day. it was thorough and showed pictures of every issue we noticed along with a description. Highly recommend Roland.

Duane from Building Knowledge performed the inspection of the house that we were considering purchasing. He was very personable and easy to work with. He was very professional - arrived on time, and completed the inspection in a timely fashion. Most importantly, he was extremely through, both in his inspection and in the detailed inspection report which arrived in less than 24 hours. During his inspection, he examined each and every important section of the house, getting into crawl spaces, noting areas of wear and tear, etc. The inspection report was easy to read, yet very thorough and meticulous. He had a picture taken for each point of inspection; this included a description of any issues, as well as possible corrective action. This inspection proved extremely valuable. We ended up not buying the house due to a couple of critical issues that were uncovered during the inspection. I would highly recommend!

Overall the inspector was a pleasure to work with, was very informative and knowledgeable about his craft. The inspector did point out several issues within the home, yet missed one fairly major safety issue around the furnace set-up. Fortunately my father, who is in construction, noticed the issue and we were able to report it to him. Although the inspector quickly added the issue to his report and provided a revised document, it was a bit disappointing to be the ones to find this issue given the amount of time he spent reviewing the furnace. All other issues reported by the inspector were corrected and important to be noted prior to the closing of my home purchase.

They were recommended by our relator and were extremely thorough. We got a very detailed report of every possible thing that needed repair. They took pictures of everything and we did a walk through of each room/the exterior etc. with them at the end. Given we were out of town buyers, they were wiling to work around our schedule. I spoke to my parents later about it and they mentioned they had never had/seen such a meticulous inspection and detailed report! We were very pleased with their work and would use them again.

Greg and Harry were extremely helpful and thorough throughout the entire process. They made sure we understood their findings, and the potential issues associated. Building Knowledge did a great job with my home inspection. Their analysis and report was extremely thorough and easy to review. Lots of applicable photos along with the details. They also did a fantastic job following up to make sure I understood everything and were available and responsive for questions. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future.

Duane arrived promptly at 10 and stayed late into the day to go through a very through inspection of a 6400 square foot home. He identified several major issues that were not apparent to the uneducated buyer (me) about problems with the home such as masonry work on the chimney and leaks from the chimney into the fireplace. He found trees that were diseased and dying that might fall on the house. He determined that overflow drains had not been hooked up for the jacuzzi which would result in a leak to the lower floor if not fixed. He identified building code issues with the exterior stairs and drainage problems for the retaining walls. This house appeared to be beautifully done but it was not well built under the covers and would have potentially been a money pit for us. We decided not to buy the home and Duane saved us from making a huge mistake that we wouldn't have caught with the naked eye and it probably wouldn't have been discovered or disclosed if we went with the realtor's inspector. We are now in the process of buying another home and plan on bringing Duane back to ensure that this one is more workable. I would highly recommend this company for their professionalism and thoroughness!

Thorough checklist of inspection items. Fast turnaround on the report. Only item not a perfect 'A' is because I always want more value.

Roland LeClaire was our inspector and he was great. We have never built a home before and he provided us with a lot of information about the home along with the inspection. We wanted to change a few things structurally and he also advised us on that, even though technically it was outside the scope of what we were paying for. He appeared to be very knowledgeable, was thorough, and gave us a lot of good feedback to provide to the builder. We were very pleased with the service and would not hesitate to use them again. In fact, we definitely plan to use Roland again for our final inspection on the home. I only gave a "B" on price because it seems slightly high. I saw somewhere online the cost is typically about $300. But since Roland was so competent, we do not regret paying a little more than that.

Roland was very thorough and candid. We liked him and appreciated his professionalism and prompt follow-up.

They came out twice to inspect two houses and I will use them again in the future.

He was very thorough, and he took the time to explain everything to us as he went through the house. He found a lot of issues that the previous inspector missed. His reports were created on a computer and he included lots of photographs for supporting evidence.
