The yard looked great after they finished

For three years there has been a large, messy pile of tree limbs, branches, sticks, and weeds by the side of my house. I had begun it as a compost pile, but over time it degenerated into a yard trash pile. Nothing composted, since it wasn't constructed properly, and it got larger and larger, and messier and uglier. On the same side of the house, soil had gradually washed up around the base of my air conditioner's compressor and covered the cement pad it sits on. I had also accumulated a pile of rocks and cement that I dug out of my garden each time I planted something - of course, those couldn't go into the trash, so they stayed in a heap at the end of my driveway. Finally, I couldn't stand the mess any longer and called Bill to have it cleaned up. We agreed on a time, and when the crew arrived, I was busy with work and told the guys to knock on the door if they needed me. They have all worked at my house before, and I know I can trust them to ask questions if they are unsure about what needs to be done, or if a problem comes up. I got caught up in my work and when I realized that I'd lost track of time, I went out to the yard to check on things. The crew had finished and gone on to their next job, but that was just fine - they'd done a wonderful job. The giant yard trash pile was gone, the dirt underneath raked smoothly and neatly. All the dirt had been cleared from the air conditioner compressor's cement pad, and the guys had made a shallow channel around it to divert rainwater around it and out to the yard. The heap of rocks and cement was gone, and my sidewalk, driveway, and the curb in front of my house were blown clean. I quickly emailed Bill to tell him how pleased I was with the work, and to arrange for him to pick up payment. When he came by, he told me that there had been a yellow jacket nest in the "compost" pile, and that they had made sure to remove it completely. They had found the queen, and sprayed as many of the yellow jackets as they could. After things had quieted down, they removed the soil that gotten saturated with the spray so that my cats and I would not get in contact with the poison. I knew I had been seeing quite a few yellow jackets in my yard, but never thought about where they could be living and didn't watch them to see if they were more active in any particular area. Every one of the crew had been stung - some several times, but they all laughed it off. I felt really terrible that this had happened - I would not have asked them to do this if I had known there was a nest inside the pile. Bill was very nice about it, and basically said it was an occupational hazard, and no big deal -he had one employee who was allergic to bee stings, but they made sure that he didn't do any of the outdoor work where he might get stung. We had originally agreed on a price of 235.00 for the job, but of course, we didn't know about the yellow jackets then. I couldn't believe it when Bill said there was no extra charge for getting rid of them. Of course, I added "hazard pay" when I wrote the check!

They were great. I was not there when they did the actual work. But through the consultation, working with them and communicating with them, they were really great and helpful.

They were great. Came to our house for an estimate, explained everything in detail, had great knowledge. The gave us a written, line-by-line estimate so we could choose exactly what services we wanted. They hired sub-contractors and got the job done over a period of about 3 days, in time for us to plant an apple tree in our newly clean back yard!

Very professional, described clearly the work they would do and all the costs associated with the job. Showed up on exactly when they said and completed the work as described ended up (actually ended up a little better than I anticipated) and the cost was exactly as agreed. Service is a little pricey, but in this case I got what I paid for. I might add every time I try to spend less, I end up getting less. Overall I would recommend this company, and would use them again.

I knew that one of my cats had brought a chipmunk into the house, but I hadn't been able to capture it. Unfortunately, the poor chipmunk died after it crawled under my antique upright piano. I didn't realize this for a day or too until I began to notice a bad smell, and realized that it was coming from under the piano. Of course, this was on a Friday. I called Bill and he was working on some big jobs, but he said he could fit me in on Saturday morning. He was willing to come out on Friday, but I had an appointment I could not break (even though I would have loved to!) Saturday morning Bill, Walter, and Oswaldo wrestled my piano away from the wall. The piano is an antique upright that weighs 700 pounds, and its rollers had rusted long ago, so it had to be lifted and moved bit by bit. It was on a rough textured sisal rug, so that it couldn't just be slid easily. The poor chipmunk was in very bad shape, and Bill removed it and bagged it. I was very embarrassed about the horrible smell and the over all disgusting-ness of the task, but the three guys were cheerful and good humored about the job. After removing the chipmunk, they had to get the 6 x8 foot area rug out from under the piano so that it could be disposed of. This took some more wrestling as the rug was rough textured and had a backing that wanted to stick to the floor. Once the rug was removed, they quickly rolled it up and and took it to their truck to haul it away. I am so glad that Bill and his crew are willing to make time for all kinds of odd jobs - as their motto says, "No job too odd." As a bonus, they are always courteous and pleasant.

I was overdue for a gutter cleaning and had a house appraisal coming up the next day. I called Bill and he was able to fit me in right away, the same day. He and his crew thoroughly cleaned the gutters which were clogged with leaves and pine straw - a few weeds had even begun to sprout. Even though we'd had dry weather lately, the stuff was wet and heavy at the bottom - it was a messy job! After they'd cleared the gutters, they cleaned up the all the debris and spread it as mulch in my garden. They even took the time to time to pull down some vines that had climbed up the side of my house and were threatening my roof. It's always a pleasure to deal with Bill's Odd Jobs!

The house I bought had been vacant for a few months and taken over by a tangle of kudzu vines, shoulder-high and so dense it was nearly impossible to open the back door. Bill's Odd Jobs sent a crew of four men, including a supervisor, to clear the yard, fences, an exterior wall, and several gutter downspouds. They also hauled away an old bed spring and other junk from a storage room. I cringe when I remember coming here with a pruning shears and thinking I might be able to clear the yard myself. THINGS live inside a kudzu thicket, my friends. What things? Well, spiders the size of cocker spaniels for one. I would probably have been dragged under the vines and gone missing if I had attempted the job myself. The crew from Bill's Odd Jobs were prompt, fast, and as hard working a group of people as I've ever seen in action. Thanks, guys.

They were great and I really liked them a lot. They were efficient and on time and the guy that headed the crew gave me some advice on the lawn. I will definitely use them again.

Went flawlessly from start to finish, what I really appreciated was the communication and follow up after the original visit to my home. Made it a very simple process, the crew did a fantastic job in removing a large tree without damaging nearby landscaping. Work was done on time, and cleanup was very thorough.

This was a last minute decision to have my gutters cleaned, but I needed it done right away. I called and he was out the next day. He did a great job cleaning and was very quick. He showed up on time and communicated with me very well. The cost was high, but it was a emergency situation. I will use this company again in the future.

Worst experience imaginable. First it took several phone calls with the promise that they could not give a specific appointment for estimate but they would call me when they were in my area. The individual who was to perform my estimate smashed into my vehicle. I was a nice guy and said I would get an estimate and give him a call. When I called him with estimate which was way below normal due to the fact that I have a friend in the body business he said he wanted his friend to pound out the dent because it was cheaper. At this point I asked him for his insurance and he promptly agreed to bring me money. I have never had a call from owner to either offer an apology or to give me the estimate. Lord you would think they would of offered to do my small pressure wash job for free after all this. MICKEY MOUSE OPERATION.

Showed up, did the job, and left (after dark).

My experience with him over the phone left me with the impression that he was very professional and I would definately hire him in the future if I have the need.

Bill came out after a few days of putting me off to walk around the yard with me. He took lots of notes on what I wanted done. He said he would be happy to do it all for me, a little at a time. I didn't have a problem with that. He sent me a couple of follow-up emails to let me know he was working on my quote, then he just went away. I haven't heard from him in weeks. I'm sure he's very good at his job; maybe too good, which is why he doesn't have time for little ol' me.

I called and asked that he look at my yard (I live a few blocks from him). He said he would. I never heard from him again.

Fine. Despite the fact that we were out of the country, the job got done. No complaints.

This was my first time using their services and they did a good job. They came on time and it took only a few hours to do the work. I found them on the List and they had good reviews and they lived up to it for me.

They were very professional and knowledgeable about how to do the different types of item on the list. We were surprised at how quickly they were finished with them.

Everything was handled very professionally and they did an excellent job. Clean-up was the best I have seen!!

As was true the first time that I used this company to do a general clean-up, I could not have been more pleased with the result. They obviously take pride in their work and it is a pleasure doing business with them. I have hired them on to do once a month maintenance and am looking forward to what I am sure will be continuing excellent service.

Chris promptly returned our email for an estimate on our yard and called to follow up. He came out on a weekend to walk the yard with us and give us some ideas and solutions to our weed problem and overgrown backyard jungle. He documented everything we wanted completed and provided us a quote within 2 days for the work we needed done. Once we had the estimate and contract, he had us on the schedule within a few days and he and his team had the work done in two days, as agreed, with no trace of them having been there except for a MUCH CLEANER and PRETTIER backyard. They left us two remaining pine straw bales as well, which was nice. He really did a great job and did a few nice touches (like sculpting the pine straw around some existing crepe myrtles) which were nice touches and much prettier than anything we would have done! I would recommend Chris and Bills Yard Service to anyone. It was a very positive experience.
