I?m a homeowner who took vacation days to do some house cleaning and ordered a roll-off waste container from BGI (repeat customer) on a Monday and requested Friday delivery. At about 5PM on Friday BGI emailed me stating "YOUR DELIVERY WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW DUE TO HEAVY VOLUME" (all caps theirs). BGI also added: ?We don?t guarantee delivery on the day you request. Atlanta traffic!!!? I believe that any company operating in Atlanta should be familiar with traffic in the metro area. I was aware that they don't guarantee delivery. Many companies add this to their policies to avoid liability for consequential damages (especially in force majeure situations). My complaint is BGI not only didn't deliver the container the day I requested it, they couldn't deliver it the next day either on a timely basis. Since ?traffic? was BGI?s excuse for not delivering on Friday, one would expect they could deliver on Saturday by11AM. Turns out they couldn?t. They offered to give me "5 free" rental days, but I only wanted the container for a week, so their offer to have the container block my driveway for an additional 5 days was of no value to me. I didn?t like their confrontational tone: ?You don't do this for a living so don't tell us how to run our business?. Because of BGI?s ?no guarantee? policy, their uncaring replies to my inquiries, and what I believe is a poor commitment to customer service, I cannot recommend their services.

On 4/7/15 I called BGI to have a dumpster delivered to a rental property that I am renovating to dispose of debris. I spoke with a female representative of the company, issuesd payment and scheduled delivery for the next morning. Per the Rep, the dumpster would be delivered between 8am and 12pm. I arrived at the location at 7:30. I contacted the company at 8am to make sure that I was on the schedule although my credit card had not been charged. The Rep that I had spoken with the day before was not in and I was told to call back in 15 minutes. Within 10 I received a call and she verified my credit card information and again stated that the container would be dropped by 12pm. 12.:04 I called as the container had not been delivered. Approximately 12:10 I received a call and I was told that it would be delivered to the location in not more than 1 1/2 hours. I decided to accomplish the errands that were pressing and trust that all would go smoothly. .I returned to the site around 2:30 and I saw that the container was on the property. But, the driver placed it too close to the elevated driveway blocking the container door and limiting the opening of that door. I decided to give BGI a call to request that the container be moved in order to allow usage of the door and avoiding having to toss or throw the debris over the side. I was told that I would be put to the bottom of the list and they would get out before 5. I explained that was not a good option for me as my workers were in place and I paid hourly. Furthermore, the driver had recently left the location. Again I was told that nothing could be done. Having paid for a container that poorly place I asked if I could be compensated as all trash ( some weighing in excess of 50lbs) had to be thrown over opposed to being walked in. I was then pass to a male representative and he asked who told the driver to place it there. I explained that I had to leave as I had no more time to wait for the delivery and my young nephew told him the area in which the container can be placed. The rep basically said that it was our fault for telling the driver to place it there. My response.....AND IT STANDS...... the driver was the professional and he should have known that the door would not open. I asked to speak with the Manager and I was told that he was the manager. I stated that I would not be using their services again and I would be reporting the company to the BBB. The obscenities started to fly!! Besides the threat of bodily harm, he closed it with "F*" you (street slang for a ladies private part). Best part of all.....Per the female rep he is the Owner and President, Brian Baxley.
Description of Work: Delivered a 20 yard container and placed it so that the door could not be opened.

Response from BGI Dumpster Rental
This particular delivery was for SW Atlanta. Customer ordered the dumpster for the day the job started. Per our terms and conditions we request that "Please request dumpster delivery the day before your project begins so that BGI has entire day for delivery. Rental clock starts day after delivery." To try and accommodate the customer for last minute planning we scheduled the delivery the following day between 8-12 on 4/8/15. When we tried to process the customers credit card it returned denied. We do not drop a dumpster until we have guaranteed payment. Because of customers lack of funds this delayed his delivery until we could secure payment. Upon delivery the driver was told by 4 (four) workers where to place the dumpster at the site. When this customer called back to say he did not like the location we told him that the truck had left the area (in Roswell at time of call) and that we would attempt to get another truck to move the dumpster asap. This was not good enough for the customer and angrily he stated he would never use us again. The customer was "patiently" advised that he had every right to make that choice as there are other companies out there to use. Upon hearing our response, this triggered the customer to become heated with explicit words and threats to BGI staff. Customer also stated for BGI to come and pick up dumpster before rudely and abruptly hanging up the phone. Then 15 minutes later the customer called back and said he wanted to keep the dumpster and the drop location was fine?? Not to sure of customers clear thinking as his actions were confusing to BGI staff. Additionally the customer can feel free to file a complaint with the BBB as we have an A+ ranking with a proven track record.
