It went well. I had dining room, great room, kitchen, sun room, foyer, hallway and small area into my laundry room flooring refinished. There were two areas in my kitchen which had been repaired incorrectly and the flooring patch had to be removed/replaced which did cost me extra. I had intended to move all the furniture myself but quickly decided it was more than I wanted to tackle so I paid the crew to do that. Even with the additional costs, I felt the final estimate was reasonable. The crew of two were here on time and to my amazement had all my furniture moved to the garage by noon. The prep work took a day. Once they were ready to start staining, we pack a bag and spent the next two days/nights away. Once the sealer was dry, we moved back in and the crew of two had all my furniture back in virtually the same place. The floors look great.
Description of Work: Remove all furniture, remove & replace flooring in two areas where cabinets were removed, filled in cracks, gouges, sanded, stained and sealed flooring, replaced furniture.

They were great to deal with. Professional and did the job mostly in one day, which was critical to our move. Small hiccups coordinating with their supplier were worked through. I felt they were fair and honest and did great work.

UPDATE Bruno Bertolli did make contact with me and he did come out to personally inspect the job. He scheduled his crew to repair all deficiencies to the original job. Bertolli had a competitive price and based on Angie's List reviews, I decided to select them. The project began with a great deal of professionalism with the delivery of the materials and the crew arriving when expected. However, that's when the nightmare began. Bruno, the owner, never communicated any of the details of the installation and refinishing to any of the crew. First, they installed the new floor without lacing the boards (having the planks go in the same direction) to match the existing floor. Next, they did not box in the boards around the fireplace. Of course this was not caught until the entire floor was laid because we were advised to leave because of the noise. After calling Bruno, he agreed that he did not communicate this to crew and offered a $100 refund. When it was time to stain, none of the crew knew anything about the stain choice. However, we worked that out. One of the stair treads was cut too short. When that was brought to the attention of the crew we were told that the finishing crew would take care of it. I confirmed this with Bruno. Later, when the finishing/staining crew showed up they knew nothing of this. Again, Bruno confessed he failed to communicate this. Therefore, the existing stairs including the short tread were finished and stained. I had to call Bruno to remind him of the stair tread that needed to be replaced. At that time I noticed several sections of molding missing. He finally sent someone out to replace the missing molding and the stair tread. However, it is the wrong color. I called Bruno on several occasions. The sad part about this is he never made another trip out to my home to see for himself exactly what type of problem I was having. I guess I am stuck with wrong color molding and a staircase with one different color step that everyone who visits notices. If you want a quality job select any of the other contractors.
Description of Work: Removed carpet and installed new hardwood floors in Family Room, Formal Living Room and Master Bedroom. Sanded and refinished existing hardwoods to match. Removed carpet from one staircase and installed hardwood treads to match.

Response from Bertolli Floors
Both of Bertolli floors crews were aware of the details of the project: - Hardwood floors were installed & laced in properly. (client is aware that there was one area that the new floors could not be laced in with the existing floors simply because the lines of the new hardwood would not match up with the lines of the existing hardwood on the other end of the room) - Bertolli floors was not aware that client wished to have a box/picture frame installed around the fireplace. (some clients prefer to have the hardwood installed right to the edge of the fireplace others prefer to have a box/picture frame around it) When client noticed that the picture frame was not being done he called us and we offered the option to either leave as is and give him a discount of $100 or just proceed with the picture frame install. Client decided to proceed with the picture frame which was properly done right away by the Bertolli floors installers. - With every job, we perform a color test. This is where we lay 2 or 3 specific stain colors on the actual floor in order for the client to see how each will look in their home. - Even though the reason for the short step was a existing skirt not being leveled we replaced/refinished the tread. Due to normal grain pattern variation on oak wood, the look of the new tread and one piece of shoemold were not up the client liking. We then gladly came back to rework on these two items . After the second visit client stated again how extremely satisfied he was with our services & new floors. Do not hesitate to contact me direct at 678 887 9955 if you need any assistance. From the first contact to the completed job, Bruno was very professional in every part of the process. This included the initial visit, the selection of our new flooring, the installation, and the follow up to make sure I was a very satisfied customer. Bertolli Floors provided a huge selection of flooring which included types that we could not find elsewhere. As an "icing on the cake" Bruno had by far the best price for this project. We received quotes from three different companies (all Angies List A's) and Bertolli was superior in price, response to questions and selection. Thank you Bruno, we love our new flooring!

About a third of our kitchen floor was water damaged by a leak under the floor, cupping and warping. Bruno explained how the area had to be replaced not just sanded down. Ronnie and the crew did a first class job. The new floor looks better than it ever did before!

I scheduled an appointment with Bruno a week in advance, told him that I wanted to install some hardwood floor, have some tile removed and repair some carpet. Bruno never arrived at our scheduled appointment time. When I called to inquire why he had not yet arrived he stumbled and said I was not in the system but remembered speaking to me and scheduling the appointment. Even after he remembered speaking to me and setting the appointment he said he would not be able to come to give me an estimate. I informed him I would find somebody else to give my business to.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused. As with any business, mistakes do happen. We did offer this client rescheduling options and would have been more than happy to come out for an estimate. He refused any option for rescheduling. We also offered to send a preliminary estimate so he could compare pricing, as he was getting estimates from other companies. He refused this as well and said he would take his business elsewhere. We apologize again for the missed appointment. Please let us know if there is anything we could do to rectify this situation. Bruno Bertolli.

We recently moved to our new home in Acworth from Colorado. In our home in Colorado we had hardwood floors installed once and refinished twice. Both times we had terrible experiences. In our new home the existing hardwood floors were in terrible shape when we moved in. In addition to having Bruno refinish the existing floors we also had them install new hardwood floors in the office on the main level as it was the only room that did not have hardwood floors already. Bruno and his team showed up on schedule and did the work as promised. The end result was no surprises and the best finished quality we have ever seen. Definitely would recommend them to anyone needing new hardwood floors installed or refinished.

Bruno came to my house a few weeks ago for an in-home consultation for hardwoods in the den. I had hardwoods throughout the rest of the house and told him I wanted to match them as closely as possible. I even showed him a sample of pre-finished hardwood that I found elsewhere that was almost a perfect match. At first he wanted to install unfinished wood and stain it, but I wanted pre-finished hardwoods in order to save time. I asked him if he could get a close match to what I wanted, and he said "of course." What he installed is about 10 shades lighter than my hardwoods AND way wider boards than my hardwoods. There is such a huge difference between what he installed and my pre-existing hardwoods, that his floor looks like laminate. When I called to express my disappointment, he said that was why he suggested unfinished wood with stain. When I told him that I had showed him a sample of pre-finished wood that was almost an exact match to my pre-existing hardwoods, he denied ever seeing the sample. Even if I had not shown him the sample (which I most certainly did), he knew that what I wanted was to match the floors as closely as possible. Obviously he used whatever was cheapest for him to buy or what he already had in stock rather than what I asked for. His response when I told him that there were other pre-finished hardwoods that would have matched: "SO TAKE ME TO COURT AND SUE ME." In addition to my previous review regarding the wrong color floors being installed, I left out the most important part. My signed work order said the planks would be 2-1/4 inch but they used 3-1/2 inch!!!! Talk about unprofessional!! "Of the prefinished hardwoods, we suggested the top of line Bruce prefinished hardwoods. Also, we advised you to go with the prefinished Bruce Natural Country Oak vs. the prefinished Bruce Natural Oak since the Natural Country Oak would have matched the existing floors better. However, you decided to go with the prefinished Bruce Natural Oak. We tried to explain multiple times that the end results would not match the existing hardwood floorings in your house. Since you were so adamant about your selection, we have no choice but to comply with your requests. We then emailed a new estimate with the prefinished Bruce Natural hardwoods, which you signed/dated and emailed back to us. Sincerely, Bruno Bertolli." NEVER was "top of the line" offered. Nor was Natural Country Oak. BRUNO is the one who chose Natural Oak. And what about the fact that 3-1/2 inch boards were installed instead of the 2-1/4 inch specified ON THE SIGNED WORK ORDER???? How are you going to lie your way out of that one??? All of a sudden, since I have tangible proof that what they installed is NOT what I ordered and will dispute the credit card charge and win, he has now backed down from "So take me to court and sue me" to "Please list the material you would like us to use" to install new hardwoods.

Bruno was fantastic. He came out to the house and took his measurements. I received the quote the same day. We scheduled the work to be done before we moved in to avoid moving furniture in the future. The crew showed up on a Monday and sanded all the floors. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, they applied the finish. Friday, they put down the trim. The floors look great and we continue to get compliments on them when people stop by the house.

From the estimate that was typed, and itemized AND HANDED to me at the time of our first meeting (no waiting days to get an estimate) to the finished floors everything was seemless. GREAT PRICE AND WORK....twothings that seem hard to come by these days. Thanks Bruno my floors look great!

Bruno at Bertolli Floors gave us our second flooring estimate. We liked him very much, and he suggested that we also replace the engineered flooring in the entry way, half bath and hallway. I was able to negotiate the price of moving the toilet in the half bath based on other estimates we had received. It was a tough decision between Bertolli Floors and another company, but we wound up going with the other company because the other company's price was lower. Also, Bertolli measured incorrectly and we would have had too much leftover materials. We did like their supplier ProSource as we went there to look at carpet -- their rep Bill Barnes spent a lot of time with us educating us on materials.

You might saythat I am hard to please, but these guys exceeded all my expectations. They were prompt, courteous, competitive, and highly skilled. To sum up,they were tatally professional in every aspect of the job. My floors are beautiful.
Description of Work: I remodeled the upstairs of my house turning a sitting room and bedroom into a bedroom and on suit bathroom. From the bathroom i broke through a wall into an existing bedroom and made a walk in closet ,partitioned the other half into a computer room. I moved a wall in the first part six feet to turn the sitting room into the new bedroom. The whole house has hardwood oak floors, with two of the rooms carpeted and with a different color from my preference. They took all the floors to bear wood and restored the floors where the walls had been and refinished everything.

As I said above, the original install was quick and seemed to go well. The problems started when we noticed the flooring at the entrance to the great room had begun to bow out and buckle and the flooring itself felt "spongy" when you walked on it for the first three feet into the great room. We noticed the problem around the first of August and on August 27th Bruno and Daniel came to the house to inspect the problem and agreed that it was a problem and needed to be replaced. There was no argument and we proceeded to discuss scheduling. Due to previous commitments on both sides and then a family emergency, we wound up unable to schedule the repair until October. That was fine with me. This wasn't an emergency and Bruno was more than willing to work with me to find a good date for his installer to come out and do the repair. On October15th the installer arrived to do the repair. He was a good deal later in arriving than I had expected, so I called Bruno to ask about that. Bruno promptly checked on the problem and we worked it out with the installer and his co-worker arriving about 45 minutes later. The installer walked in, looked at the buckling floorboards and promptly told me "this is normal" and "it doesn't need repairing". From his attitude you would have thought I insulted his family and all his ancestors. When I said, "I'm sorry, this is not normal", he reminded me that he had done the original instillation and that this was all good. He seemed to feel that my dogs were the culprits. By no means was he going to admit that there might have been some problem in the installation. I called Bruno at that point, because his employee's attitude was making me really angry and quite frankly asked him whether he guaranteed his floors or not. Long story short, the "I can fix that in five minutes" repair took almost an hour and the installer and his co-worker never said another word to me. They spoke to each other in Italian and it was very obvious they were not happy at having to correct this problem even though their employers had seen the defect and agreed that it needed to be fixed. In finishing, I would say that Bruno and Daniel were apologetic over the phone on that day, but the attitude of their employees left a really bad taste in my mouth. I never heard from them after the incident and have no idea whether they even discussed the issue with their installer. I will not use Bertolli Flooring for an future work.
Description of Work: On 3/27/2013 we had laminate flooring installed since we have dog and cats. We had previously had laminate in other areas of the house and wanted to expand to cover our great room and dining room. We had had great success with the laminate in the kitchen and hall and had discovered that it could weather spills and other accidents (whether they be human or pet originated). The original flooring had been discontinued and therefore we needed to match it to the best of our ability. Bruno came with a full selection of samples to choose from. The price was very reasonable. The installation crew did a good job - fast and cleaning up after themselves - and I was all ready to give Bertolli's a good rating. Then it turned sour.

They were fantastic. We used them for a big job and we did use Angie's list for that and that was really good. The work was stellar. They held to their schedule. They brought in a lot of different crews because there was carpet work crew and hardwood flooring crew and they timed it all perfectly. When they ran into any problem and fixed it and so I was extremely impressed. They are all very professional, very courteous and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. I would use them again.

They were quite fantastic. We had laminate flooring which was basically worn out and they replaced it with engineered hard wood. We actually had to have some carpentry work done because we had a leak in the wall of the house which was causing the flooring to warp which was part of the reason why we changed. They provided the carpentry staff to go ahead and do the carpentry repair work. It was somebody whom they work with and it was an all package deal. They are fantastic, they do a great job, and they are not over priced nor under priced. Bruno Bertolli is the manager and he has a brother and they are both very easy to work with, both very attentive, and I was very pleased with them.

The job was quoted by Bruno. He reviewed all of our requirements and explained how they would remove the existing carpet, prep the subfloor and install the 2 types of flooring. He also gave us an allowance for the carpeting we were replacing and told us to let him know our choice from ProFloors. The job was scheduled to begin on a Friday but he called the day after we signed the contract and asked if he could start a day earlier. The work was done in a townhome we had just bought and it was totally empty. His crew came in and started the work early while my wife and I started to make other changes. The carpeting came out and the new flooring was installed within 3 days. At that point we left them to do the sanding, staining and finishing. 3 days later we came back in and the floors were dry and we could start painting. The work was excellent and it is not possible to tell where the old flooring ended and the new floors begin. The stairway carpet was replaced with our new selection. The new carpet should resist stains better and the replacement eliminated the last traces of smell from the previous owner's dog. We are giving the new floor a bit more time to dry in before we put furniture and rugs on it but we are painting all the walls. In spite of the amount of material and equipment that was moved up and down the stairs there are no marks on any the walls and the paint job is just to put in our colors. We did not have any damage to repair and I could not be happier with the results.
Description of Work: Removed 700 square feet of carpet and replaced with hardwood. Sand and refinish 900 square feet of existing engineered floor. Sand and recoat 2 sets of stairs and re-carpet the 3rd stairway. The new flooring was a combination of engineered flooring which was glued directly to the ground floor slab and solid red oak flooring installed in the 3rd floor in 3 bedrooms and a hallway. Carpeting on a stairway to the ground level was replaced.

The most important thing (to us) is that the finished product was gorgeous - beautiful hardwood floors and tiling. The transaction was smooth at first, with great responsiveness and ample options from which to select. The only downside was toward the end, when some miscommunication led to a big mess being left in our house, which we had to pay another service provider to clean since we had already moved across the country. Had we still been in Atlanta we probably could have sorted things out amicably, but we were definitely disappointed in the lack of follow-through by Bruno &/or his team.

I solicited estimates from three companies for our townhome-flooring project. They including Bertolli Floors, a heavily advertised shop-at-home company and another small company that I found on Angie's List. We selected Bertolli for several reasons. First, Bertolli was the only firm to submit a printed detailed estimate. Second, we were able to visit his supplier's showroom (ProSource) and borrow additional flooring and carpet samples that we could view in our home under all lighting conditions. This helped to confirm both our wood and carpet choices. It is also worth noting that the final cost of the job was came within a few dollars of the larger firm's estimate, even factoring in its alleged truck-load discount and the higher quarlity carpeting that we eventually ordered through ProSource. We presented Bertolli a very tight deadline -- and his crews delivered as promised (although the carpet installers were a little late arriving). At this point, we are very satisfied with both the carpet and wood floor installation. We are especially pleased with the new hardwood flooring. The floor installation crew showed exception skill during the shoe molding installation (I have some experience with this task from working on Habitat for Humanity homes), neatly boxing out two fireplace aprons and two decorative pillars and correcting errors made during the builder's flooring installation. Bertolli's crews were pleasant to work with. Damage to walls, etc. (there is always some damage during carpeting and floor installations) was minimal. While I believe it is good practice to solicit multiple estimates for large home improvement projects, I recommend Bertolli Floors for consideration.
Description of Work: Removed 470 square feet of carpeting in living room and 320 square feet of hardwood in dining/kitchen and installed new maple hardwood flooring. Removed 1,100 square feet of carpeting in family room and bedrooms and installed new carpeting.

First, he had me go to the showroom to pick out and see which carpet I liked the best. He then came out to my home to take measurements of the area I needed carpeted. I never heard back from him, like he promised. I don't believe he was interested in the job and thought it was too small.
Description of Work: I attempted to receive a quote for a carpeting job I needed done.
