Description of Work: Bruce has done high quality work on a variety of outdoor projects at my new home. He rebuilt badly worn outdoor stairs and walkway, re-graded and restored old slate patio, extended brick pavement around swimming pool, installed statuary, built and fenced an above-grade dog run behind my house... all custom work done with quality and attention to detail.

+ -1 moreAfter procrastinating and offering excuses for several months, the defendant requested additional monies for materials, stating he had used the money for materials to pay his workers, that other completed jobs should have been paid to him, but had not, and various other excuses. I sent him two letters saying that he should complete the deck by a certain date or I would bring suit against him in Small Claims Court. I hired another contractor to complete the deck. However, the new contractor found gross structural defects and had to take down the deck and obtain additional materials to construct the deck properly. The deck was completed on 5/25/2012 by another contractor at an additional labor and material cost of $4,716.05
Description of Work: I paid Bruce Veates $3,312 for materials and $2,000 additional monies for labor. All of the materials were paid for but only part of the materials were delivered. The deck was to be completed in three weeks, however, the defendant either did not show up at all, or, stayed only a few hours when he did show up. Bruce Veates began work on 1/26/2012.

+ -1 moreWork went well, however I am having crack issues in the mortar on my garage. They did come out once to repair but I am having difficulty getting them to come back out.
Description of Work: Had stone installed on my upper and lower porches, as well as house foundation and garage foundation.
