I obtained six quotes. Brett was friendly and offered the best price, which included removing branches from my own yard-clearing efforts. The crew showed up early and they, too, were very friendly. They knocked out five trees in less than 2 hours, and then they proceeded to clean up my yard above and beyond removing tree debris--something I didn't expect them to do, given my yard was a complete mess even before they arrived. Given the overall service value and quality--and friendliness of the crew--I wouldn't hesitate to hire again.

I found Atlanta Tree Professionals through a neighbor who had hired them. Brian was my contact person and he assessed my yard (while he was at the neighbor's house) and gave me a quick quote. I then did the research on Angie's List for this company and I saw they had mixed reviews, so I was reluctant. I asked Brian for references, which he promptly provided and when I called the former customers, they sang his (and his workers') praises, so I hired them. The crew came on the date/time when they said they would and Brian was on site the whole time. The crew wasted no time getting to work and they worked very well together. It was kinda neat to watch. They had a wood chipper on site so they chipped the trees the moment they were cut. These guys worked fast and cleaned up all the mess. I would use them again.

If there had not been a tree climb involved I likely wouldnt have checked the insurance certificates.
Description of Work: Came out and gave me a written estimate. Sent me over insurance certificates which were in two different companies names, but when I called on his workers comp it was in another companies name and the agent suggested I pay the workers comp. company not the company I contracted with? Not wanting to have to do legal research the Red flags went up for me so I canceled the work to be done.

He came out to give the estimate. I actually had a specific amount of work to be done. The man was very polite and professional. However, his price was much higher than other people I contacted. He actually wanted to remove a lot more trees than I wanted. The trees were healthy and did not need removing. He said it might help with potential problems but did not fight me about it. Overall, I would not use them because they were too high and did not provide enough options. I am refunding the deal.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased and I purchased two deals. I kept calling them and haven't gotten the service yet. It has been 1 1/2 years and they still haven't done the service. They have never contacted me about when I would like to have the service done. I've called them about 10 times. They said that it is a small job and it has to be combined with a big job so they said they would contact us when they schedule it. A year and 8 months have passed and I don't think I am going to get the service done from them. I last contacted them in early November.

I let my deal expire without realizing it in April. In May I contacted the owner and asked him if he would honor the deal anyway, and I told him I would even pay extra. He said okay, he would schedule me. A couple of weeks went by with no contact from him, so I contacted him again by e-mail. He said thanks for reminding him. Then 2 months went by with no contact, so I sent him an e-mail saying I was desperate and could he provide service in the next week or two (I was afraid some large, dead oak tree limbs were going to fall on my house or someone on the ground.) I never heard from him again, although I got on their newsletter e-mail list. I would have had no argument against him if he had just said from the beginning that I should have noticed the expiration date and that he couldn't help me. But he didn't. He led me to believe he was going to provide the service, even if I had to pay extra. Then he did nothing. Maybe he got sick or was just disorganized, but I could only conclude that he was untrustworthy. Trust is everything.

I purchased 2 big deal coupons for Atlanta Tree professionals to have them remove 2 trees from my house and trim a few other trees. My main frustration with this company is that they seemed to know I had this deal when they came out for the estimate and therefore gave me absurd estimates to factor in my coupons and were hesitant to agree to a smaller scope of work. For example, they quoted me $1250 total to remove 3 small trees and trim a few other trees. I asked for a quote from another company for the same services and they only asked for $600. When i made it clear to Atl tree professionals that I did not want spend more than the value of the coupons they became horribly unresponsive. They missed 2 appointments when we finally agreed on a smaller scope of work and would not answer and respond to my phone calls. I would not use this company again and was not satisfied with my service for the reasons mentioned above.

On Nov 4, I canceled the request because I don't want them to touch another tree.
Description of Work: The initial contact was made 4/25. After 5 more requests, service was performed on 7/08. It was not complete as agreed upon. I contacted them the same day and was told they would come back. More contacts 7/13, 9/13, 10/11, and 10/22 with 2 responses from an office assistant, but no contact from the "professional" and I gave up.

I called about a week ago for an estimate to have trees trimmed and several more removed. Tim was the one who took down the appointment and the one who was going to meet me today at 12pm. I gave him two hours but he never showed and never called to explain anything either. I ended up calling the company at 2:08 and spoke to a woman named Tanya who seemed genuinely surprised by my complaint especially since she'd just gotten off the phone with Tim. She assured me he would call me back and so we hung up and I waited for his call. I called the company ten, fifteen, and twenty minutes later and at 2:28 Tanya text me with the statement that she was busy with another client but Tim would be calling me soon. I thanked her and waited again. Finally, at 2:48 I text Tanya again, told her Tim had YET to call me, thanked her for her time, and told her I would no longer be requiring any kind of service from them. The only reason I gave them a D instead of an F for Professionalism was due to Tanya. Otherwise it would be Fs all the way down the report card. I would never recommend this company to anyone I knew because even if they showed up for the estimate/job I would be worried about the quality of the service they would provide.

They were completely unresponsive. It took multiple calls and emails to schedule a service and they didn't show up the first time we scheduled. It took more calls and emails to get them to reschedule and they were then over an hour late. Then they siad they could not perform all the work we wanted for the cost provided and increased the estimate. The work itself was great - fast and improved the appearance of the trees singificantly. However, due to the inconvenience of the process, I would not use them again.

It took forever to actually have someone come out to do the work from the initial point of contact. Someone did come out for an estimate and he was professional. Getting the work done in a timely fashion was another issue...
Description of Work: Trimmed branches from trees near house and cut back branches sitting on a power line. They did an ok job removing some of the branch on the power line but there is still a portion touching it. I wouldn't purchase a deal again for tree service since apparently you get very little for the money. You're better off just hiring someone, paying full price and getting your money's worth.

It went well for this particular service call. ATP showed up pretty much when they said both for the estimate and for the actual work. The crew were friendly, efficient and hard working. However, when I called them several months later following a major storm that left several large trees down in our yard they said they would come by but never did despite numerous calls which always wound up in voice mail message that said they were in a meeting. I wound up using someone else for the job.

Purchased the Big Deal in January 2012. ($99 for $300 worth of tree trimming). The expiration date was July 16. I began contacting this company in March. Every single time, whether it was phone call or email, the owner, DJ, would say he'd have someone else contact me. One of his managers. No one ever did. Began reaching out to Atlanta Tree Professionals more and more as Summer kicked in. Nothing. At some point I began emailing him and copying Angie's list. I found an email online to an Angie's list representative that I believe is in the Atlanta area, not sure. Anyways, this seemed to make the owner a bit more responsive. And this is where things got really fun.... After he made a few more promises that someone would contact me, and no one ever did, finally I get a call from Tim (one of his managers) on July 3rd. I was out of town that day and Tim said he would go to my yard and walk through the work with me over the phone. So he calls me while he is standing in my yard and says what would you like done? We talk about a few limbs and a small tree out front and he makes a few suggestions that I think sounds good. He said, " this will be $299, And I have a crew in the area, right around the corner if you want the work done today!" He was all 'Mr. salesman' and very happy to oblige. But then I made the mistake of saying "Fantastic! I bought an Angie's list big deal and it is worth $300 worth of work! Lets do it!" And at this point, I'm not joking, he goes "uh, umm,uh,s***,um,uhh, yeah,uh,um" for almost a full minute. I held the phone up so my coworkers could hear it, I could not believe that a grown man would act like this and let me hear it. He was squirming. Clearly this company does not want to honor the Angie's list big deals that they sold earlier this year. So back to Tim. After he's done squirming, he tells me that he just texted the crew and they are no longer in the area. So somehow, they were able to pack up and leave within a matter of a few minutes. What a joke. So I asked him when he could get back out to do this little bit of work. He said, " uh, give me three weeks". I told him that that would put my coupon past the expiration date but as long as they were willing to honor it I could wait. So I said, "I will pencil you in three weeks from now". And then he played the game again...."we'll, don't pencil anything in...I can't promise anything....may be longer....there's been storm cleanup lately." And finally after dealing with these jokers for about six months I lost my temper. I told him that I have been patient since March and I want this work done. And since then, I have emailed the owner so that I would have a paper trail and all I've had are promises, very curt replies and still no work done. At this point, they no longer respond at all. Let me tell anyone reading this review, the work that I needed done was extremely minimal and small. If you are looking to do major work and landscaping, and are spending anything over $99 I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. I work as a marketing director for one of the largest apartment management companies in the Southeast, and the largest management company in the state of Georgia....... I've seen some bad contractors. Atlanta tree professionals ranks right up there with them. In addition, at one point, the owner of the company asked me If I wanted a refund or the work completed. I told him that I wanted the work completed. He only did this because it was an email that I copied Angie's list on. So if he says that he offered me a refund, he really didn't. I now am seeking a refund through Angie's List. This has been a complete waste of my time and energy. I wouldn't let them on my premises at this point.
Description of Work: Absolutely nothing, unless you consider giving someone the runaround, not responding, not keeping appointments, not honoring the Big Deal you purchased, and not being professional in the least, something.

His crew cut down several trees and boxwood hedges. Good: He gave a quote that included a 2nd coupon (I had an Angie's Big Deal). He worked with me on scheduling and then actually performed most of the services on an earlier date. His crew cleaned up the site very well. Bad: Poor response to e-mails - would take days. He has not completed the agreed to items - the stump grinding has not been done yet. The trees were cut down 2/23/2013. He gave several reasons including broken equipment but then he was going to get someone to do the grinding. The last communications were on 5/3/2013.

I called the contact number. The initial visit seemed promising. John arrived on time, was courteous and appeared knowledgeablle. He quoted several options. ITS BEEN TERRIBLE EVER SINCE! I called the SAME number and advised I wished to proceed with removing 2 trees. They missed our first appt, and I called them back advising again what I wanted done. A different person (I beleive the owner) came by and quoted the same work at 4 times the original quote. I advised him of that, and he said "are you sure you didnt talk to one of my salesmen"? We finally figured out that I had talked to John. He said he would have John call me. John never callled. I followed up 3 times. The owner texted me he would have John call and gave me John's #. After 3 unanswered calls to John, I texted the owner that I was about to give an unfavorable report to Angie. He texted back "PLease call John". I did, and talked to John live, who said he would schedule work and call me that evening. He never did. I followed up with John on Thurs, Feb 28, who said "I'll be there Monday". He did not show, and he has not returned my 3 calls. I asked Angie to help in April, and once again the owner called and said John would complete the job by the end of the week. I have not heard back from them and it is now June.
Description of Work: This has been a complete waste of my time. The company quoted some work, and I have tried to schedule it but they have not followeed through to complete it, have stood me up twice, and keep placing the burden of follow up on me.

I bought a Big Deal on Angies List, but was frankly a bit shocked when they came and did an estimate at how much more I would have to pay. Ordinarily I would have simply declined their services, but since I already had a couple hundred dollars sunk, we moved ahead. It took the better part of two months to get the work done. They were very good once they showed up. Fast, clean, and effective. But I was left with a lingering feeling of having been 'taken' on the deal.

We purchased two "deals". Phil Sehenuk came out promptly and gave us an estimate for the work (including grinding several stumps and limbing some hardwood trees). The job took two days of hard work. Phil was on hand for most of the work. We were so impressed with the care the crew took to protect the hardwoods that we wanted to keep - this was no easy task, as we have a heavily wooded lot. Further more, we could not believe the amazing clean-up job after the work was completed. My husband and I both agreed we would never bother to call anyone else if/when we need any other trees removed or limbed, etc. Excellent, excellent, team.
Description of Work: We had 9, 60 feet tall pine trees that were infested with pine bark beetles, so when there was an Angie’s List Deal from Atlanta Tree Professionals, it seemed like the time to act.
