In 1998, A Better Gutter Cleaning was started by Dickson Johnston. His goal was to provide the most convenient and professional gutter cleaning service anywhere. Through word-of-mouth and customer referrals Dickson built his business from just a few regular customers to one of the largest cleaning services in the Southeast United States. To date we have performed more than 90,000 gutter cleaning and repair service calls, and most of those are over the last 5 years. Description of Work: Second time cleaning gutters this year. The first visit prior to cleaning was repair to existing gutters due to storm damage. On all occasions, I wasn't home at the time they performed the service (which is a good thing, seeing that I don't have to be stuck at home for the service.) When I did return home after the service was done, they left the premises clean and in order. |I would use them again.

Description of Work: Cleaned out my gutters. The person I spoke with was very nice and professional. They got to me quicker than they had estimated. The one thing that I had an issue with was that the renter was quoted a diff price for gutter repair than he gave me.

Hey, the reason that the renter was quoted a different price is because we could have done the repair for less while we were already at the house. A separate trip requires a minimum charge of $105. Sorry about the confusion.

They were a day late but had run into bees on the originally scheduled day. They did call to say they couldn't make it. Arrived first thing the next morning. Cleaned the gutters, removed the screens and cleaned everything up. I was very impressed with the way they cleaned.

IT WAS VERY GOOD. THEY CLEANED THE GUTTERS. THEY GAVE ME A PICTURE TO SHOW ME THAT THE GUTTERS WERE CLEAN. I COULD SEE FROM THE PICTURE THAT IT WAS MY GUTTER, AND I COULD TELL THEY DID A GREAT JOB.

Overall, the experience and the work were fine. My only gripe is the ongoing email ''reminders'' I continue to receive. They are generated automatically and will stop once the balance is clear. But, they are sill very annoying and the language comes across as punitive. I would hire them again, but next time I will not carry a balance.
Description of Work: ABGC cleaned my gutters, reattached two sections that were sagging, and replaced vent hood seals. The balance was more than I anticipated, but they allowed me to pay installments.

THIS COMPANY MANAGEMENT WAS RUDE, IMPOLITE, TREATED ME LIKE A LIAR, AND PERFORMED UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLY.
Description of Work: I REQUESTED CLEANING OF ONE GUTTER IN AN 8 UNIT TOWNHOUSE COMPLEX. THE FIRST CREW CAME OUT BUT COULD NOT COMPLETE THE TASK. A SECOND TEAM WAS SENT A FEW DAYS LATER. THE FIRST CREW THAT CAME OUT COULD NOT COMPLETE THE JOB BECAUSE THERE WERE BEES IN THE GUTTERS. WE INFORMED HIM OF THIS, AND HE AGREED TO HAVE A PEST CONTROL COMPANY OUT, AND THEN WE COULD CLEAN THE GUTTERS. HE WENT AHEAD AND GAVE A CHECK TO THE CREW FOREMAN. HE HAD A PEST CONTROL COMPANY COME OUT THE SAME DAY AND CALLED US BACK TO CLEAN THE GUTTERS. HOWEVER, THAT CREW WAS TOO FAR FROM THE HOUSE AT THAT POINT, AND WE HAD TO RESCHEDULE. WE TOLD THE CUSTOMER WE WOULD HOLD THE CHECK UNTIL THE WORK WAS COMPLETED, EVEN THOUGH HE DID NOT REQUEST US TO DO SO. ON THE SECOND TRIP, IT WAS A DIFFERENT CREW FOREMAN, AND HE DID CLEAN THE WRONG GUTTER. WHEN THE CUSTOMER CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT HIS GUTTER, THERE WAS A DISCUSSION BETWEEN OUR OFFICE MANAGER, THE CREW FOREMAN, AND THE CUSTOMER. THE POINT WAS TO FIGURE OUT IF THE WRONG GUTTER HAD BEEN CLEANED. WE NEVER SUGGESTED THE CUSTOMER WAS LYING, ETC., AND WE AGREED TO MAKE A THIRD TRIP TO THE RESIDENCE. HOWEVER, WE DID BELIEVE WE HAD CLEANED THE CORRECT GUTTER ON THE SECOND TRIP. WE COULDN''T COMPLETE THE CLEANING ON THE FIRST TRIP DUE TO NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. THE SECOND TRIP WE MADE A MISTAKE AND CLEANED THE WRONG GUTTER. THE 3RD TRIP WE GOT IT DONE CORRECTLY. MISTAKES WILL HAPPEN, BUT WE WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW UP AND MAKE IT RIGHT, JUST LIKE WE DID IN THIS CASE.

HOWEVER, WE DO NOT BAG THE DEBRIS AND TAKE IT WITH US. THIS IS STANDARD PRACTICE WITH MOST GUTTER CLEANING COMPANIES. WE WILL BAG THE DEBRIS, BUT WE DO CHARGE EXTRA SINCE THIS TAKES CONSIDERABLY MORE TIME. THE MAIN PART OF OUR SERVICE IS GETTING ON THE ROOF AND DOING THE DANGEROUS WORK THAT HOMEOWNERS CANNOT COMPLETE THEMSELVES. THEN, ONCE WE GET DONE, WE WILL DO THE BEST WE CAN TO BLOW THE DEBRIS INTO THE NATURAL AREAS OF THE LANDSCAPING. OUR GOAL IS THAT THE PROPERTY WILL LOOK BETTER WHEN WE LEAVE THAN WHEN WE ARRIVED. WE MAKE A POINT TO EXPLAIN THIS WHEN THE CUSTOMERS ORIGINALLY CALL US SO THERE WILL BE NO CONFUSION LATER ON. IF A CUSTOMER CALLS US AND IS UNHAPPY WITH THE CLEANUP, WE WILL HAPPILY SEND A CREW BACK TO THE HOUSE. IT''S PART OF OUR 60 WRITTEN GUARANTEE THAT EACH CUSTOMER RECEIVES WITH THEIR INVOICE.
