+ -1 moreThis was a perfect experience! The price quoted to me on the phone was consistent with estimates I received from other companies. The electrician arrived within the window of time given and before coming into my home put covers on his shoes so as not to track in dirt. While doing the work, he put down canvas tarps to catch dust and debris and also protect my floors from dirt and water (it was raining outside). The outlet was installed and worked perfectly upon testing. He was polite and professional and I will definitely be using 24hr Electrician again!
Description of Work: Installed a cable television outlet on the wall in my living room.

+ -1 moreThe owner was suppose to complete the work himself but I guess last minute he decided he wouldn't be able to make it and sent someone else. OK, but the owner did not pass on the driving directions I gave him to the worker he was sending, so the guy got lost and was an hour late getting here. Overall, the worker did a good job and was very professional. The price was exactly what was quoted and fair. They gave us a 2 hour window in which they would arrive (1 to 3pm) but didn't actually arrive until 4pm...so make sure you have nothing else planned for the day.
Description of Work: Installed 2 new receptacles.

+ -1 moreThey arrived on time, however the prices continued to change and they would not give an estimate when they got to my house. They came at 9 am but did not start until 12 pm and the work took two hours. Not all of the work was completed because of the problem with the price. He gave me a 7% discount because of all of the confusion and the time wasted. The work he did was very good.
Description of Work: They installed 5 motion detector lights. I paid for all of the supplies. The price reflects labor only.

+ -1 moreI called 24 Hour, and the owner answered and diagnosed my problem immediately. He would have come out within a day only I was short of money, having paid TWO other electricians who did not fix my problem. Twice I thought the problem was fixed, but it was hard to tell until it started reoccurring AFTER the last two electric companies left. 24 Hour made sure I knew not to run any more major appliances until he could get out here to fix the problem. If he had not warned me I might have had a huge bill to replace my AC and other major appliances. Months earlier, my dryer, washer and pool motor had all burnt out due to this problem and no repair person, or electrician, could tell me the reason. 24 Hour was here half a day as promised and charged exactly what the written estimate said.
Description of Work: This company was the THIRD electric company I'd called and the only one who diagnosed and fixed my problem. My dryer, dishwasher, garage door and pool motor kept tripping off and the only way to get them back on was to turn on the STOVE. This guy told me over the phone, within 3 minutes of my describing the problem, that I needed to call my electric company to look at the meter box. The electric company confirmed it was burnt out. The previous electrician, sent a total of FIVE people out THREE different times (once not showing up at all after calling last minute). The owner of the previous company had told me I needed to pay $2000 to replace the panel and also after I told him what 24 Hour said, an additional $800 to $1000 extra for the meter box. So dishonest. 24 Hour did not take advantage of my lack of knowledge of electrical. This is such an honest company and I highly recommend 24 hour to anyone especially having major or hard to diagnose problems.

He found the problem in less than an hour and was out within the hour. He was very conscientious down to the disposable covers on his shoes to protect our floors.

+ -1 moreThey were very nice and did what they were supposed to do but we had some damage to our newly re-glazed kitchen cabinets. What happened was the electrician climbed on a ladder and had on a tool belt. His tools were scratching up against our cabinets. We had just put the finish on our cabinets and then we had to redo them because of the scratches.
Description of Work: During the remodeling our 3200 square foot home, we had the electrician remove a fluorescent light fixture off the ceiling and in its place add additional recess lighting in our kitchen. He also converted an on off switch to a dimmer switch and installed a ceiling fan in our family room.

Performed the work and was very helpful in explaining the nature of the problem and other issues that were of concern. No pressure to do additional work - just giving a very good explanation. Description of Work: Emailed this company for an electrical problem in my home. 1/2 of the outlets in the house were not working. A technician was sent out and diagnosed a weak breaker. Replaced a 15amp breaker in the panel box. Also verified some strange looking wires that had been run into the panel. Wired to the water heater. Joel took the time to look at the water heater to determine that it was appropriate and safe. Joel also took the time, at my request, to look a my pool pump and discuss running an additional line.

+ -1 moreMy comment regarding my overall experience is that this is the second company I've contacted from Angie's List for work on my house that did not show up or call back after I left messages. I don't have a good feeling about the truth and reliability of the reports and grades if so far I'm 0 for two.
Description of Work: No work was performed because they didn't show up for their appointment. I spoke to Omid the day before, told him of my needs and made an appt for the next day. I took the afternoon off work because he gave me a two hour window. After one hour, I called and he said "the guy took the day off" and he forgot to reschedule. He didn't remember our conversation, didn't even have the appt written down. I will not use this company nor would I recommend anyone who doesn't show up on time, let alone at all.

Description of Work: My electric clothes dryer wasn't working. I first hired an appliance repairman who determined it was an electrical problem. I then called 24 Hour Electrician who found a loose wire at the plug connection point. He tightened it and solved the problem.

The electrician came out on July 3 and checked my electrical service and explained why I do NOT need an upgrade. He saved me about $3,000 and did not charge for the service call. I asked if he could return and create the new ground for us. He stated that it would cost $165. He returned at a time convenient for me, installed the new ground and charged $165 -- exactly as agreed. I highly recommend 24 Hour Electrician.
Description of Work: We needed a new ground installed because our old ground connected to our metal pipes which are being changed to plastic pipe. Also, I thought I needed upgraded (100 amps to 200 amps) electrical service because my house is old.

+ -1 moreI was satisfied with the job they did, and their price was reasonable. They got here early both times, and called an hour prior-- excellent phone service. I was impressed; he seems very competent and gave me a lot of good advice. He was very polite, well-groomed, and courteous.
Description of Work: They came back to do an adjustment on 2 photocell flood lights they'd installed (they work perfectly-- I changed my mind), and outdoor outlets they'd fixed. The adjustment took about 5 min, at no charge (additional work, not a fix). He showed me how to do further adjustment myself without expertise.
