The next morning was the day the property owners had scheduled to do their leaving inspection of the house. I woke up early and saw that I had not received a text saying that these “Super Cleaners” were done or anything of the sort. I thought that was pretty odd so I sent Michael a text asking if everything went well and informing him I would be there shortly (~0730). As I am literally driving over to the house I get a text telling me that Michael had gotten severely ill from “the toxins in my carpet”, and that no further work was done in the house. This text was sent an hour before my inspection and was sent only *after *I had reached out to contact them. I rush inside the house and see that nothing, *literally nothing* had been done to clean the house. No cleaning to speak of, nothing had even been so much as touched. I finally get a hold of Michael who explained that he had gotten so ill from cleaning (he literally had not vacuumed a square inch of the house, let alone cleaned any other areas)that he had to cancel the job the night before. He informed me that it was not his responsibility to let me know that this development had occurred. When I explained the obvious bind I was in Michael was very dismissive of any wrong doing on his part. After ending my call I proceeded to clean the very same “toxic” carpet as best I could in the time I had before inspection. I did not get sick or feel anything at all except the dread of knowing my house would not be to standard before the property people arrived. I understand that this is a busy time of year and that the company was probably overworked with jobs, and understaffed, but to blatantly LIE about the conditions of the house as an excuse not to clean it is beyond wrong. Even if they were unable to complete it for ANY reason at all they should have contacted me as soon as possible. When the landlord arrived she read the texts between myself and Michael and was sympathetic but still was forced to take large deal of my deposit because there were so many areas I was unable to clean in time. Their neglect and lack of integrity caused me to forfeit most of my deposit, and the embarrassment I felt doing my walk through was worse than the actual money lost. In retrospect I would have gone with a more trustworthy company, but Michael assured me that they would clean the house in time, no matter what.Beyond abandoning the job without notification, the continued interactions with Michael were the only “toxic” thing about the whole fiasco. When I threatened to leave a bad review for his company he laughed it off “I have had 200 jobs over the past year, buddy. Whatever you say on there won’t affect me.” The sheer arrogance of this man after knowingly deserting the project, without so much as an “Oh by the way” until an hour before my inspection, is the only reason I am writing this review. Of course as soon as we hung up he dropped the tough guy act and pleaded with me to not file a negative review (The texts from their company cell phone were screenshotted and attached below). Too little too late, Mike; I believe it would be a disservice to NOT report their gross lack of professionalism.
Description of Work: Recently hired out this company to clean my house before we moved out, worst decision I could have possibly made.I am in the military and my job required me to be out of town for the entire month of July. At the end of July I was going to leave my current rental and move to a new place within Athens. Before moving out I wanted to get the place clean in order to get as much back from my deposit as possible. My other roommates were not able to be there either (one is from the United Kingdom and could not fly back due to family issues, and the other started a new job that similarly required them to be out of town). I called around a couple places to get quotes and availability and was informed by Michael from Super Clean that they would be able to clean my house “no problem”. My commander permitted me to take a day of leave to go to my house to let the cleaners in and to move the last of the luggage that were already packed away in boxes. The day before my move out when we scheduled the cleaning, Michael changed the time that he would be able to meet me twice (he first informed me 6 p.m. then said he could do 4 p.m., then informed me he would only be able to do 6 because he was running late), but finally arrived at my location. Michael did a walk around and informed me that he could clean the house, but would not be able to get the stains out of the carpet (they were there from the previous owner so it was not an issue). I asked if I needed to stay or if they would need me for anything (left my number and said to call if there were any problems). Michael said that they would start at 8,and finish “no matter how long it takes”. I stayed up until about 11 waiting in case they needed me.
