Quite honestly, I moved to the area in May from South Florida and I'm not yet knowledgeable on how my lawn here should be cared for. Since my next door neighbor uses Greenscape and his lawn looks like green velvet, I hired Greenscapes for weed control and fertilization as my lawn looked horrible and is loaded with weeds. Mike, the owner, met with me personally and we discussed treatment. I've had to call them back out in between treatments to hit the weeds again but I am told that it is because I missed the early spring treatment and have been assured it will be different next year. By the way, I never once got a hassle in getting them back out. I can't say that my lawn is greener and fuller than when I first moved in but maybe it is the way it's supposed to look. I also seem to have different types of grasses in my backyard and have no idea how that happened or how to fix it. As far as price, I think it's a bit steep for a per treatment cost, however, I have no experience with this type of service and it was comparable with the other quote I received. Mike is professional and seems to be genuinely interested in keeping his customers happy. I will continue with Greenscapes through next season and see how it goes! If next year my lawn is vibrant green and weed free, I will update this review. *** UPDATE June 10, 2015 During the year 2014, my lawn showed significant improvement except for reoccurrence of weeds for which the lawn was being treated for. I figured that by 2015, my lawn should look fabulous with it having been cared for professionally since May 2013. After all, it had received fertilizer/weed treatments both pre emergent and post emergent for the entire year. I even paid for ant control and a core aeration earlier this year. My lawn started to show spotty growth. I reported this to Greenscapes and of course their standard response is fungus due to too much rain or slow growth due to too little rain. On May 21st, my receipt showed that the lawn was inspected for fungus and no activiity was found. On June 04 the owner responded to my call regarding those spotty growth areas getting larger. At that time, Mike told me that I had "Lawn Rust" a FUNGUS! Gee, I think that's exactly what I called about in May, spotty, yellow looking patches! I also had lots of Dallis grass weeds again which were almost non-existent in 2014. Mike sent a tech back out the next day to dig up the weeds and spot treat. I watched the tech throw the weeds over my back fence instead of at least piling them up to be bagged. I received a sarcastic reply from the tech when I asked him about his actions. I then researched "Lawn Rust" and according to most articles, it is mainly caused by a lack of or low nitrogen. I believe nitrogen is supposed to be in FERTILIZER. So I emailed the articles to GreenScapes and indicated that all roads lead back to their treatment or lack of to my lawn. Their response to my email was a REFUND check in the mail yesterday of the difference of my PrePaid premium and CANCELLATION of my service. I could have originally gone with the bigger companies who were only a few dollars more but I try to support small local businesses. This company has had a turn over of personnel and there is nothing uniformed about the way they apply the treatment. I have watched them many times and there are places, especially the borders/edges which do not get treated because they drive that little speader helter-skelter instead of in a uniformed pattern. I guess you really do get what you pay for and if you're not satisfied, by all means DO NOT let the owner know!
