Had cellulose blown in attic over a trey ceiling. Had 4 can lights covered and ducts sealed. Joe was on time for first meeting and install. Very easy to talk to and did a good job.

They did a good job.

They used someone that was in training to seal attic spaces, so not sure everything was up to standards. Uneven attic insulation blown in, was told that the higher points were places that I got more than required. Installed Solar Fan off center so that air flow was not optimal. Came back out to fix and just cut another square out of roof (when I asked for cut to match opening in fan) and continually said that I said it was making a rattling noise (when I stated it was a sucking air sound).

The owner was available to set up a convenient appointment and showed up on time. He was courteous and professional. He clearly indicated what services he did and did not provide and provided us with useful information and do-it-yourself pointers. He was knowledgeable about home energy efficiency and about current guidelines. Since our house is relatively new and the areas of leaks were obvious, such as around the attic pull-down stairs, he did not do a whole house pressure test. He did not use an infrared camera to detect areas of poor insulation because the indoor and outdoor temperatures were about the same so the test would not be effective. He did spend over an hour with me which exceeded my expectations based on the price paid. He provided me with a rough estimate on the spot and discussed possible savings via governmental and Georgia Power rebates. We haven't received the written estimate yet. We are getting additional bids regarding improving the attic insulation since there are some options for services that he doesn't provide. We have not made any decisions yet.

Wonderful. The owner of the company was fabulous. They couldn't have been nicer, detailed, took pictures, explained the whole thing to me, wonderful deal. Highly recommend. He called me the day I put the request in, he came out the next day, took the pictures and arranged the following day for his crew to come out and they cleaned everything up. I can't say enough nice things about them.

The salesman who came to the house was very punctual. He got a little lost, but called to let us know, so we weren't waiting without knowing why. He explained everything about the products very well - even had a demo that proved what a difference attic insulation makes. They offered financing, and an Angie's List discount, which worked well for us. We signed up on the spot, and they set a date on the spot. Unfortunately, the date of install, after the E-shield was installed, and all the other insulating things, the insulation blower quit working at another job. However, they called right away to let us know, so that was not a problem - equipment breaks - what else can you do? The problem arose in that they were doing this on a rental property, and I could not be in town on the new date. The salesman had said that they could do the work even if we weren't there (we had a combination lock on the door so they could enter). But when I went to reschedule the work, I was told that it was not policy to work on a home without the homeowner present. When I explained our situation - that it would be some time before one of us could be there, and that the salesman had assured me the work COULD be done with us away, he said he would check on it and call me back. He did, within the hour. Yes, they would be willing to do that for us. So they came and finished the job, and it was excellent. They cleaned up after themselves, and left no trace, other than a much-better insulated home! The difference in energy bills is already outstanding!

Joe and crew were very courteous and attentive to their work. All work was completed in one day and looks great. All debris was cleaned up and the work area was left in good shape. I am very pleased.

He was very nice and knowledgeable and not pushy. Poor guy had to play fetch with my dog as we talked so I could hear above her barking. He is coming back next week to do the patching in the attic

From the start, Energy Smith was courteous and accommodating. The company representative listened to my problem--absurdly high heating bills--postulated a few explanations, and offered to come out to my home and give things a look through--all at no charge. He even suggested ways that I could address the heat loss problem myself, going so far as to direct me to helpful websites that gave detailed instructions. Once I decided to contract Energy Smith to formally diagnose the problem through an energy audit, the representative was thorough and seemed primarily interested in helping me solve the problem--even if it meant recommending me to other businesses to perform services that Energy Smith could not provide. The quote was more than fair, and the team never asked for more money at any point. The Energy Smith representative and his contractors conducted themselves professionally at every turn. Not only did they excel at the work they did, it seemed to me that they went far above and beyond what was required of the job. For instance, the contractors replaced vinyl siding broken during the adding of wall insulation at no cost to me. What's more, when rainy weather stalled work for a weekend, one of the contractors came back out and replaced downspouts that had to be removed for part of the project, despite the fact that the downspouts would need to be removed again once work commenced after the rain. Likewise for vinyl siding taken down to drill holes to add insulation. The contractor replaced the siding to add an extra layer against the cold, even though he would have to remove it again the next day to add insulation. As an added bonus, my utility company, Georgia Power, offers a substantial rebate for energy reduction through home improvements like those that Energy Smith provided. The Energy Smith representative did all of the work in setting up the rebate and submitting all of the information himself, in addition to working hard to ensure that I received the maximum rebate possible. I could hardly be more satisfied with the Energy Smith contractors and the work done.

Joe arrived on time, exactly when he said he would be there. We actually had a cup of coffee while he explained to me the entire home energy audit process before he began the work. During the audit he toured me around my home explaining to me each step as he examined the crawl space, the outdoor areas, the appliances, the heating and air system, each room, and the attic. He was very detailed in explaining to me each item that he recognized as an opportunity to save me $$$$. He pointed out the need for additional insulation in the crawl space and venting in the ceiling. Joe didn't simply point out problems and solutions, but took the time to explain to me the engineering behind his recommendations. It was a huge value for me to understand the ideas behind his recommendations. Joe provided to me a full report outlining where our electricity was being used throughout the home. This also included an air leakage test that compared my home to other homes of similar size and optimal conditions. It was very enlightening. I would highly recommend using Energy Smith and Joe to audit your homes energy usage.

It went great. The first day they did all the sealing in the whole attic, having a some what older home there was lots of open spaces to seal. Vents, ductwork, sealed around can lights properly, and where walls dividing rooms had open spaces to the attic were all sealed. The second day was the blowing in of the insulation. We have three vaulted areas in our home, they put batt insulation on these areas as well as the blow in insulation. The were on time, and we were informed along the way as to what steps were being taken. They were very knowledgeable in their field of expertise and I would recommend them to anyone. Great job!
