Mr. Davis came out to give me a quote for some exterior painting to finish the job for another painter that had started, but was prepping poorly. I asked him a lot of questions because I didn't want to blindly hire another painter that would cut corners and not prep things properly. He told me we would have a quote by the beginning of the next week. When I had not heard from him by the following Friday, I gave him a call to check on the quote. He immediately recognized me and said that he was passing on the job because I was too picky. I told him I thought that was pretty unprofessional (literally all I had gotten out), and before I could elaborate, he said he could pass on whoever he wanted and that I would nitpick things to death and then HUNG UP ON ME. I wasn't upset that he had passed on the job: quite frankly, if he considers expecting siding to be washed before it is primed, peeling paint to be scraped before it is painted over, and window putty that can be picked out with your fingernail to be removed before glazing being "nitpicky," then I'm glad I'm finding this out now rather than paying thousands of dollars to. I do however, expect that someone would have the professional courtesy of calling or emailing to tell me this and not being rude. We had nothing but pleasant interactions prior to this phone call, and there was absolutely no call to be short and hang up on me. As for his work, I can only assume from our conversations that it wouldn't consist of quality prep work.

As for his work, no feedback is available as we actually decided to reside the entire fiber board covered house rather than paint it as it made more sense for us in the long term.

They painted my porch. I had my bedroom remodeled so they did the painting in there. I highly recommend them for quality. They show up on time, they do their work and they clean up. Everything was good. I will use them again.

Paul Davis is very professional and also very personable. He gave us an estimate and stuck to it. He and his crew showed up as expected and the crew pressured washed the house. They put out tarps to protect the surrounding area. I don't recall how long it took to paint but it went fairly quickly. The crew was professional and always picked up their supplies at the end of each work day. They were careful to get the color we wanted for the shutters and carefully matched the color of the original trim.The house still looks newly painted after a year and a half. I hope I don't have to repaint for years but when I do, I plan to call Paul Davis again.
