 + -1 moreTim and Sean did a wonderful job from start to finish. They arrived bright and early every day. They worked efficiently and were very detail oriented, making sure that we were pleased with the ongoing project. We originally were going to have them mount a floating mantle for us once the tile was up however, Tim mentioned that the fireplace might have a more clean look if a mantle were not mounted at all. We took his advice and are glad that we did not have the mantle installed. We have had nothing but complements on the fireplace and foyer and would not hesitate to engage the services of Tim Hibler Tile again.
Description of Work: We engaged Tim's services to re-face our fireplace and re-tile our foyer. In re-facing the fireplace, this required removal of the existing tile around the hearth and floor and removal of the existing wood mantle and 8ft. mirror that ran up to the ceiling as we were wanting tile to run from floor to ceiling to give the living room a contemporary look. The foyer required removal of existing tile and installation of new tile to match that of the new tile for the fireplace.

 + -1 moreThe whole process went very well. The estimate Tim provided over the phone was $150 less than the nearest bidder. In fact, a big box store sent an estimator out who told me that the minimum his company charged was $850!!! This was after I gave the phone screener/appointment maker the exact dimensions of the job. Tim and his helper, Tommy, arrived on time on time, worked very neatly and efficiently. At my request, Tim rearranged some of the tiles into a much better pattern that I had arranged. He has a good eye for this kind of work. Tommy returned the next day to finish the grout work. Like Tim, Tommy did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to call Tim first the next time I have a tile job.

 + -1 moreTim and Tommy are very professional, and unlike many of the other trades people with whom I've worked, are punctual and communicate and delays in their schedule. I needed a shower pan poured for a custom shower I'm creating as part of my master bath renovation. Most quotes were ridiculously priced and would perform the work about a month out. Tim provided a very fair quote, was honest about his work schedule, but agreed to try to squeeze me in within a week. I am very pleased with the work that he and his assistant provided.

 + 0 moreTim was, quite simply, outstanding--very punctual, efficient, careful, considerate, talented, and a clear communicator. The result is beautiful and even better than we had hoped or imagined. Throughout the process, we recognized that we were dealingnot just with a professional but also a true artisan who knew his materials, one who had a fine artistic sense but who was completely flexible and adaptable. (Many other contractors we consulted in our renovations seemed bullying and wouldn't listen to what we wanted, perhaps because they only knew how to do a few things.) Because of Tim's professionalism, we knew that anything he would suggest and charge would be entirely fair, and it definitely was. We especially appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Tim, whether verbally (by phone or in person) or in writing via email. As a result, we ended up ordering just the right amount of tile with a bit to spare in case we ever have any cracks or chips in the future. Tim also stood out in that he was always on time for appointments and finished ahead of schedule, which we found to be very far from the norm in our dealings with several contractors on several projects on our new home. In addition, he patched about five holes in the wall that the electricians had left after installing undercounter lighting, something Tim did without adding to the price estimate he had given us. Here, we knew we were dealing with a pro when he asked us to send him pictures of the holes via email in advance so that he could come prepared with a strategy and the right materials. In the end, after perfectly cutting and fitting tile around seven power outlets, switches, etc., he recommended we use a colored grout (slate gray that lightened after it dried) to go with the Calacatta marble and stainless steel appliances we had chosen and we are very happy we listened to him: the result is a subte graphic addition to the overall pattern, something that gives a contemporary touch to what reminds us of a classical Roman mosaic--it is like a piece of art. Oh, and his clean up was immaculate. From first to last, then, dealing with Tim was the one totally stress-free interaction we had with a contractor, and that is saying something. In sum, we cannot recommend Tim highly enough; he was truly exceptional, and we feel lucky to have found him. ... Kudos to Angie's List and previous reviewers!
Description of Work: Installed backsplash using two sizes of Calacatta marble with 2 patterns and also added a stainless steel plate behind stove under the microwave to macthe these stainless appliances.

 + -1 moreWe needed to have a tile shower installed in our master bathroom. I had previously purchased the tile so all I needed was to have it installed. I enjoyed working with Tim and everything went smoothly as far as working with him. I had some plumbing issues and also had to find another contractor to install my shower door, as the contractor Tim recommended never contacted me. However, Tim and his assistant Tommy were on time, worked throughout the day. Tim always kept me informed as to what was going on and the end result was fabulous. I'm very pleased with the work and now I will be forced to complete the rest of my master bath because my shower looks so good.

Description of Work: I cannot say enough good things about Tim. He returned my call within 24 hours and came over within the week to give me an estimate. We agreed on a start date and an estimate. He arrived on date and time agreed upon and did all of demolition. He also gave me a few names of places to pick out tile, Contracted out for plumbing and glass enclosure. Beautiful results! I love my bathroom! Tim was a dream to work with. Listened to me about everything I wanted especially shower bench. Always on time or called if he was running behind. Extremely professional With cost of tiles, plumbing, fixtures (new tub, toilet, hydrorail shower and drains) and glass enclosure I met my $10,000 budget. I have a huge bathroom so I can't tell how happy I am!

He was extremely professional beginning with our first phone conversation and was responsive to emails and phone calls throughout the entire process. He provided a quote based on floor plans and pictures as I was trying to get the work scheduled and priced prior to closing on the house. After closing, Tim reviewed the project onsite and honored his original quote. I quoted the project with several contractors and Tim's pricing was competitive (although not the lowest). Tim started the day we agreed and worked diligently through the project to complete our agreed upon work on time and within budget. I had several other contractors performing work at the house during the same time and Tim coordinated well with all of the other contractors. I have a lot of experience in renovating homes and the quality of Tim's work is first class. He was able to execute the patterns and complexity of the project without any issues. I highly recommend Tim for any tile project and will be using him again on projects we have in the Atlanta area.

 + 0 moreI called Tim, after reading reviews on Angieslist and left him a message requesting an estimate. Tim called back quickly and we scheduled for the estimate. He arrived, with advanced notice, ahead of schedule, looked at what I needed done, answered all of my questions and quoted a price. He, per my request, emailed the quote and an estimated schedule to get started. I also got two bids from tile installers referred by my tile supplier. Tim's bid matched one other installers and the third apparently thought it was a government job. Tim and his assistant did a very good job installing and grouting the glass tile backsplashes and repairing issues in older tile with missing and cracked grout. He completed the job over part of three days, always arriving when he said he would, touching up all detailed Items I pointed out and keeping me informed of all pertinent information throughout the job. Very fair price for the job!

 + -1 moreThe kitchen already had a low granite splash, but I wanted something to protect the drywall especially near the sink and stove. Tim and I began communicating via email, and he provided me with the materials that I would need to do the job (the tile and grout). Tim and his assistant arrived on time and were very professional! They completed the work over the course of two days - Tim was there for day 1 and did the actually installation, and his assistant came back on day 2 to grout. All in all - they did a great job on the installation! I'll try and post some photos shortly. My only constructive feedback - and believe me, this is minor - is that his assistant completed the grout work, and left quite a mess! There was grout on my lower cabinets, on my wood floors and on my balcony. I understand that construction can be messy, however I think that some of this could've been cleaned up before leaving.
Description of Work: Tim installed the back splash tile work in my kitchen, which consisted of installing appx 40sq ft of mosaic tile and grouting.

 + -1 moreGood experience overall. Tim was scheduling over 2 mos out when I hired him so the wait was a little long. I was okay with that since he was rated so highly and I wanted the job done right. Had a wall next to the master tub that was a little warped which required some craftiness on Tim's part to tile the back splash. The only real issue was the slight slope on the top of the shower wall which is a little more than normal(the way it was before he did the work). The shower door people also commented as to how sloped it was and that it made attaching the door a little more challenging. When I asked Tim about it, he agreed it was sloped more than normal and that he should've reviewed with me previously. I'm still working with him on drywall/painting around the shower. When his regular painter was no longer available, he put his Dad in contact with me to do the work. I appreciate his continued willingness to assist. Tim does great tile work.
Description of Work: I had my shower tiled and the first guy(not on Angie's List) did a horrible job. Found Tim on Angie's List and he gave an estimate of $2000 to rip out the first job and re-tile the master shower/tub.

Tim removed all tile and had major mold and mildew back behind walls because the builder didn't use the correct backer board when house was built 28 yrs. ago. He had to replace several 2 x 4's and insulation. He had to bring in jack hammer to remove bathroom floor where they laid cement to build up flooring, which took a whole day to finally breakthrough and remove to bring it down to same level as other flooring. Tim put in new drain and new shower flooring. I picked out the design I wanted and Tim was excellent discussing how it should be laid out. My shower and bath area is just beautiful. I highly recommend Tim Hibler to remodeling your bathroom. He is very easy to work with and does very good work. I really liked how well he cleaned up each day. It made a huge difference.

Description of Work: As background, I did major remodeling in my home many years ago, acted as the GC with approximately 7-8 different service providers and had many in my home certainly in the last 10 years. You need to use Tim Hibler. He is honest, accurate, provides high quality service, is on time and communicates constantly with clients. I interviewed a total of 5 different service providers including Tim - 4 from Angies List and 1 highly recommended from a tile shop. I was careful to explain my needs, try to get a sense of design and ask questions in which I could rate all the tile services fairly. Since we were remodeling an old master bath shower, bathtub backsplace area, floor, and separate toilet and wanted to fix with a leak into the garage below) - my wife and wanted someone with good ratings, who seemed very knowledgeable and importantly had ideas with the variety of trends and patterns out there for a modern look/Tim is honest, upfront, very professional, on time; does very high quality work, has a great sense of design, works very hard, and pricing is very reasonable. Best experience I had with a service provider in the last 10+ years and I have done extensive remodeling in all parts of my home and have had experience with over 2 dozen service providers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TIM HILBER! I specifically wanted the tile to go with a new frameless shower and get ideas to reduce the walls to make it more open, make the shower and bathroom look very clean,modern and larger; keep the adjacent roman tub, but modernize the look with the tile and importantly build an integrated hidden access panel in the front and make it all flow with the tile for the shower and planned frameless shower design (after the tile install). Only 1 other service had ideas similar to Tim, but his approach to access panel was much better. A total of 3 other services were a little to more expensive and did not give me a good sense of how they would build the access panel, make it modern and flow it into the shower area and also I was worried about one or two of them possibly charging for any little change in the job - just because in the quotes the seemed to charge for every little thing -possibly running up the price. Another was much less expensive but I didn;t get a good sense of skill or design. Tim had great ideas, was very upfront, pricing was very simple and reasonable. I also tried to save some money at first thinking I could demo the floor myself, but then changed my mind. No problem with Tim as his pricing was very very reasonable. BTW if you think you ever want to do your own demo - it is not just as easy as ripping out tile as you see on HGTV. Tim and his assistant professionally removed the tile, the nails, the shower, etc. and prepped the floor professionally. He also explained how and why the previous shower was leaking and how he does the pans. Tim also gave me his ideas on how to lay out the new faucets/hand shower etc. given the tight space and provided me with a terrific plumber who also had very reasonable pricing. I also wanted to have a glass corner shelf installed, which Tim did a beautiful job on the installation and also fixed my other guest bathroom with a few loose tiles and grouting issues.

 + 0 moreTim Hibler is the best tile man, period. I can't express enough how wonderful he was to work with in our bathroom remodel. We needed the floor tile and the entire shower surround replaced due to 30 years of being exposed to water. His estimate came in priced quite competitively. We are a one income family with two kids. He always showed up on time. He is not the kind of guy who sits there and talks your ear off all day. He gets to work immediately and quietly and finished our job on time as promised. He and his assistant immediately placed down heavy duty plastic "wrap" on all our carpet to insure they wouldn't make a mess. Even at the end of the job, as he was already paid in full and walking out the door, he asked me, "do you have a dustpan I can use to clean up the floor?" He's incredibly skilled with the tile work. He added backerboard to our bathroom floor, as the 1980's consumer-grade junky subfloor the builder used was just subfloor and tile. -Really bad. Tim made sure it was done right the first time. When I asked him how much we owed him for the backerboard, he reminded me, "it's already included as part of my fee." He had every opportunity to be a typical contractor and try and get a few extra dollars from us. But he never did. He was always upfront with anything he needed to supplement at Home Depot and always had receipts for us. He bought $10 worth of insulation for the walls where it had rotted behind the shower. He presented me with a receipt for $11.75 (included tax) and just asked for ten bucks. He showed me that after exposing the rotten wall joists behind the shower, that it needed more wood supports to be installed and needed the mold to be hit with chemicals. I asked him how much it would cost to remedy that, gritting my teeth in fear that it would be a painful amount. With his labor and wood he had to buy, it was an extra $50.00. -Just wonderful. You should have seen how much work he had to do for that money. He installed our new cool-looking, modern, long subway tiles in our shower and big planks of zebra tile on our floor with amazing skill. I left him alone in my home with his assistant for most of the time he was working with the door unlocked. He was here for several days, which was how long he stated from the beginning it would take. There were no issues regarding my trusting him of any kind. He is a man of his word and I will be calling him ASAP to do our other bathroom. I'm so happy we found him here. Thank you, Tim!
Description of Work: Replaced an entire shower surround with new wood, mold treatment, tile, grout and caulking. Replaced tile floor with water-proofing and backerboard and tile, grout. Removed toilet and replaced it in order to complete the job.
