Tim Hibler Tile

We found Tim on Angie's List. After getting estimates from him and two other contractors, we chose Tim based on his impeccable reviews and the fact that he does the tile work himself and would be on site every day. We did NOT want a contractor who would just sub out the tile work. During the month that the project was being done, we gave Tim a key to our house and let him come and go as needed. We even went on a 10-day trip during that time and knew we could trust Tim to have complete access to our home. We would not have been comfortable doing that if Tim were not personally doing the work. Tim walked us through every step of the way, which was a huge relief since we had no experience with this kind of project. He recommended a place to buy the tile but told us we could go anywhere we chose. We decided to buy the tile at the supplier Tim recommended, and he passed his contractor discount on to us. He also brought in a plumber he works with, and we were equally happy with him as we saw him and his crew almost as much as we saw Tim. To our relief, Tim picked up all the tile and transported it to our house. From day one, we were impressed and delighted with how respectful Tim was of our home. He immediately put down plastic throughout all the traffic areas, and it remained down until the project was completed. Most important, the quality of Tim's tile work is absolutely amazing. The tiles are perfectly straight and the grout work is the best I've ever seen. Every time we walk into either of our "new" bathrooms, we are thrilled and overwhelmed by how beautiful Tim's tile work is. NOTE: The $6,850 "cost of service" I have shown above is ONLY the cost of Tim's labor. The total cost of the entire project (two bathrooms) was actually $16,724 including plumbing parts and labor, the tile itself, and the fabrication of frameless shower doors.

This was our first really big project in our house, and we were pretty much hopelessly lost on how to proceed. We decided the easiest thing to do would be to get some quotes for the work in broad strokes and then bombard them with questions. Tim was the consummate professional throughout the entire project and handled our incessant questions with a smile, explanation, followed by a "don't worry about it, I'll take care of it for you.". His communication was always first rate and if he said he would be there, he was there! The craftsmanship was top notch, and everything he did had to be custom made for our space. We had more than a few house guests come through that are the DIY type and they took note of all that went into the end product. He made that circa 1992 bathroom into something even better than we had imagined. The outside service providers he brought in to do the plumbing, baseboard work, and custom glass were just as professional as he was. We had no qualms about letting Tim in and out of the house while we were gone and, other than the carpet protection on the floor, you never would know he had been there. If I was FORCED to point out one negative thing, it would be the time it took to get him in to do the work. He is a busy guy and was booked for nearly three months out. This really ins't a bad thing, good for him for staying busy and the back to back bookings mean people are happy and excited to work with him. In three words - We Struck Gold.

It went very well! Had some issues underneath the laminate that was there that delayed everything a day, but he just rescheduled some things, or asked if I could wait an extra day. Since he patched all the holes behind the laminate at no extra cost, I worked around his schedule.

Tim was courteous, professional, punctual and did a great job. I have no idea as to how the price compares so I left that N/A, as I didn't get any other quotes. Very happy with my experience and how my floors look.

Tim was great. He was very easy to work with and had great ideas and suggestions for when our pre-conceived plans came up against reality regarding little details about where tile should be placed, how the orientation should look, the dimensions of the shower. He was on time for scheduled visits. He did everything he said he would do, and the finished product was exactly what we expected.

I guess business must be really go for this company because they never bothered to return any of our calls or mail messages through Angie's List asking for an appointment for a bid. Absolute lack of professionalism - if you can't respond to my request for a bid, then I obviously can't trust anything about you.

It has been over a year since Tim was here working. I plan to get him back sometime soon. I went through several contractors trying to choose the right person, and Tim was the one that wasn't pushy, he was kind of laid back, and his price was about the same as the rest. When you do a job like this, its obviously a very large dollar deal when you have to buy the tile, grout, sealer, tub, doors, cabinets, etc - but Tim took everything into consideration when he was designing and building this out. The result was a bathroom you would find in a million dollar home... It's a bathroom that I'm proud to go into every day and I have absolutely no regrets. Would I hire Tim again? Yes, as a matter of fact, I have two more bathrooms that I plan to get him to retile and install new tubs... (Tim, I'll will be calling you very soon...). If you would like me as a reference, I would be more than happy to discuss the entire project and provide before and after pictures.

Ice storm slowed things down final job was excellent cost almost as much as larger company. Miscount on tile numbers for pattern delayed completion by one day. We would use Tim again as he was reliable in showing and getting the job down.

Ok ... Here is the scoop on Tim. He doesn't run teams of workers because he is very sensitive to the quality of work associated with his business. He wants it done right so he does it all himself. You may have to wait a few weeks to get on his schedule but in my opinion it is totally worth it. We had at least five companies come out to bid on the project. The price range of the quotes was from $4500 to $7500. Some were really cheap but you could tell that they would not be trustworthy, to put it nicely. Others were great but really expensive. Tim came across as the best of both worlds so we went with him. His expertise saved us on several occasions when we were going to make bad design decisions. He is very knowledgeable about the construction of showers that won't leak in the future. The shower turned out magnificently. Everyone who has seen it asks if they can steal the design. Tim also put in a tile backsplash in our kitchen. This was long overdue and has transformed our kitchen from bland to great. I would use Tim again in an instant!

He was very punctual, extremely knowledgeable, and very professional. He was more expensive than the other estimates that I received so I did not use him.

Tim was wonderful to work with - very patient and explained everything in detail. The work went smoothly and completed perfectly. Since it was a small job so Tim sent his tileman over to complete our project. He did an excellent job and I would not hesitate to use this company again. Tim's pricing was great. We had received unrealistic pricing from other tile companies and feel fortunate to have found Tim Hibler Tile to do our job.

It was great! He was very flexible on making it work out, they were more contractors doing some renovations and he was flexible to get in there when he could and do the tile. The quality of work was good and I haven't had any issues. He did do a follow up visit when I did have real touch outs that he needed to do and came out and did without any issues.

Tim did such a great job when we used him the first for our Master Bathroom that are having him do our large upstairs bathroom this summer. He is great and very straight forward with this quotes.

It went well. He came on time, his charges were reasonable, and he did a quality job.

Excellent. Tim was very professional and my bathroom is exactly what I requested. We discussed the design of the shower and it turned out very well.

He didn't do the work....but hopefully I can get him to do it this year.

Tim started with the 25 year old tile in the shower, roman tub surround and floor. The master bathroom tile was obviously very outdated and needed replacement long ago. Tim built a new waterproof shower using waterproof materials, he built up the floor of the shower so that the water would not pool in the shower but would go right down the drain. He retiled the shower with porcelain tile, decorative strip at eye level and diamond shaped tiles above it. The large roman tub tile matched the shower using the diamond shape as well. The hall/guest bathroom tile around the tub and the floor was replaced with porcelain tile. We utilized the same pattern as the master bath shower. The floor tile was replaced with the same tile as the walls. Now about the quality of work: Tim was considerate enough to do one bathroom at a time. It would have caused a hardship on us without a shower for several days. He started in the master bathroom and after demo he meticulously built a new waterproof shower pan and floor that would slope down to the drain from all sides. Once that was done he started on the tile. Tim has an incredible talent with tile design. He spends the time to make sure it is perfect. Every step in the process went very smoothly and we are extremely happy with all of the work he did. We feel like we don't deserve such a gorgeous shower. The hall bath tile work is better than we have seen in new home master baths. All I can say is awesome!! I also am impressed with the fact that Tim works with a glass company that makes amazing frameless glass shower enclosures. He also has a plumber that does the plumbing work and a detail man that will install wood moldings. All of these were scheduled by Tim and I didn't have to worry about finding a plumber or glass company.

I contacted Tim on 5/13/14 and left a message on his cell phone. I have yet to hear a response back. Will look for another installer due to poor communication.

Tim was great to work with. Very personable, responsive, honest with respect to his schedule. Job was done in the time frame he estimated, and for the estimated price. We want him back for future jobs!

Tim and his helper took four days to prepare and install my floor tiles , my son and made it easier for him when we removed our old 7 year old, off -white nylon carpet, so they had a clean work area, they installed the backer boards and we had our electrician install two electrical outlets on the floor to plug in our Powered Leather Sofa and Loveseat , before Tim installed our ceramic tile. We where extremely happy with Tim's work , he is very pleasant - professional and gave us a very reasonable price . I will be calling him back to do our master bedroom and sitting room which is connected to my master bedroom. And also our basement floors when we decide to tile our five rooms. We couldn't be happier with the results! Two beautiful, updated bathrooms! Tim was really easy to work with and is a real craftsman. Although we faced some delays (2 snow/ice storms which caused a loss of work days, and a 1 day plumber no-show) and had to wait 3 months to be put on his schedule, Tim Hibler Tile was worth the wait. His price was extremely competitive, and there were no hidden costs as too often happens with contractors. His final price did not deviate from the estimate he gave. The tile work is beautiful and he was very accommodating in doing all we asked, such as in creating the tile baseboards we wanted. Two other tile contactors who gave us estimates said: "it couldn't be done, and our old tile baseboards would have to be replaced with wood, by another contractor they'd have to call in, the wallpaper would get torn up and need replacing." Turned out it could be done, we have lovely new tile baseboards and the wallpaper was not damaged! We were so happy with Tim's work, that in the midst of him re-doing the master bath, we asked him about removing the carpet in main area and replacing with tile. He gave us an estimate within hours, and added that onto our project, even though it added several extra days to his schedule. Tim finished on time, as promised, even showing up on a Sunday, to get the job done! We would not hesitate to hire him again and recommend very highly!!

We were so pleased with the tile job Tim did the first time we used him (about 3 weeks ago) we decided to move ahead with a second job for him. As was the case in the first job, Tim and his assistant, Tommy, did an excellent job. They were punctual, worked very neatly and efficiently. In the first job Tim demonstrated excellent eye for flow and color balance of the layout of the tiles. I gave him pretty much free rein to move tiles around to achieve the same balance and flow. His experience shows and his suggestions are sound. His assistant, Tommy, came back on the second day to complete the job by installing the grouting. And, like the first job, the results were first class. These two guys make a great team. While we do not have another tile job in the near term there is no doubt Tim will be the first guy I call when the time comes.

Tim was always professional and courteous. The job was a very time consuming project due to the large area to be tiled. They worked very hard and completed the job on time. Tim and his helper were extremely neat and tidy and cleaned up all areas at the end of each work day. They kept their supplies meticulously neat so we did not have a huge mess during the two week they were working. The price for the installation was slightly higher than other we spoke to; however, Tim gave us a great price on the removal of the existing floor and a discount for using angie's list. The result is that Tim's bid came out lower than the competitor. Tim did extra research to make sure that he was properly addressing some water moisture issues we were having with our floor. He also was always there ready to work early in the morning. He also was carefiul to make sure that we always had a clear path to walk every day and was thoughtful about which areas he tiled when, based on our needs to get around his work areas for our daily activities. We will definitely call Tim again. We had some remaining grout residue at the end of the installation, but Tim kindly cleaned off the tiles and now the floor looks fantastic!

A couple of months to get on Tim's schedule but well worth the wait. His price was well below competition, he was on time and good communication during the process. The tile work was great and he did an excellent job cleaning up after himself. I like how he built up a new shower floor that was a lot better than what existed previously. Highly recommend.
