Remodeling by Ana

My Bad Experience with Remodeling by Ana I paid Ana $65,000+ to renovate my bathroom, kitchen, and paint my walls and cabinets. Ana’s contract requires full payment before all of the work is done and I was not in my unit during the renovation. When I returned the toilet was leaking; her husband fixed that as it was causing an issue for the building. The shower was spraying water on the ceiling and after a few weeks the paint was chipping off the walls and the cabinets. I could see the previous color. Her workers did not prime the walls / cabinets properly. While installing my countertops, her workers dented my microwave and refrigerator at the top. I disputed the charges with my credit card company and gave Ana the opportunity to repaint and fix the shower. She did not respond to this request and stated that all of the work was done properly. She even claimed my relatively new microwave and refrigerator were already dented. Within 2 months, I paid another contractor to 1) repair the shower and the water damaged ceiling and 2) repaint my walls and cabinets. Even though I submitted the invoices to the credit card company, she would not agree to credit my account with any money at all. This is definitely not 5-star work, and it is not even good customer service. I expect Ana to get people to post more random 5-star reviews on top of this just as she did the other 1-star review that she received recently. One of those recently posted 5-star reviews is for work done more than 5 years ago (during COVID).

Ana’s team did not perform 5-star work in my condominium. ***Master Bath - The contractor did not measure correctly the width needed for the accent penny tile. So, when he installed the tub faucet it was off-center; see photo. They tore out the tile to extend the width of the accent penny tile, but now it is not level with the original accent tile. Ana provided a cracked and chipped shelf for the shower niche, and it started to turn brown in the crack. When I reported this to Ana, she said it was the natural look of the tile. However, when she came over, she could see and feel the crack and chipped edge. She told me that she didn’t have any more of the tile and that I would have to buy a whole slab if I wanted it replaced! The contractor sanded and sealed the shelf and Ana gave me a letter stating that if the discoloration of crack continued, she would address it later. See photos of shelf and her agreement. The contractor was very messy with the grout when installing the shelving for the 2 niches. See photo. I asked Ana if they could clean this up. She replied that once the grout dries, they can’t remove it. The contractor did not seal the ring around the bath-tub faucet, nor did he grout properly underneath the faucet. See photo. ***Guest Bath Only when they were measuring for the shower glass did Ana call and ask if I wanted a door for the shower. Once she sent me a picture of a tub with the “one glass” panel, I told her that I wanted the door. She charged me an additional $780 to add the door. A 5-star designer would have asked during the contract signing rather than waiting until near the end of the project to ask if they wanted a door for their shower. Since this is a “custom” made enclosure, A 5-star designer should have widened the door and shortened the stationary panel so that her client is able to comfortably clean the entire shower without having to step into it. The contractor also installed the directional water flow know incorrectly. Another professional estimated $2700 to demo and remove all tiles. Ana’s price included demo and removal of the tile. However, she did not remove any floor tiles, but she only gave me a $900 credit. I had to call Ana back to grout under my refrigerator and stove after I discovered they had not done that. ***Painting - $4280 to paint 2 baths, a hall, kitchen and an open living dining space. Yet the work was sloppy, paint on fixtures, areas not sanded and caulked properly. See photos. 5 visits to sand and repair around light fixture and never got it right. See photos. Later I found out that I could have had my entire condominium including bedrooms painted for $2700 ***Lighting - Gaps between the light rim and the ceiling on recessed lights installed; Ana’s contractor said my ceiling was not level and there was nothing he could do. See photo. $380 to install 2 side by side wi-fi dimmer switches that they installed upside down. I could have gotten this done for $75. During the bath light install they switched the controls. The first switch turned on the shower light and vent, the 2nd switch turned on the main light. This was so annoying that I had a friend switch it back for me. This was a simple fix but not indicative of the detail expected with 5-star quality work. ****I have several flaws that Ana did not correct, cracked chipped shelving, messy grout underneath shelving, uneven tile area and a messy paint job. Yet, she never offered me credit, or even an apology. I had to text multiple times to get an appointment and then on a few occasions the contractor didn’t even show up. This is not the behavior of a professional who values her clients. I told Ana I was going to share my experience and she tried to stop the post and even maligned me in my original post, so I deleted the post to add this one with pictures.

What a great experience to work with them. We worked together to get what it was the best for my place without taking my personality away. Affordable, flexible and always willing to help and give the best advice. The cost for the whole remodeling was fair and no extra hidden fees. Extremely clean work environment. Ana remodeled my condo unit and I had a great experience not only working with her but also getting to know her as a person. Her company performed the contracting work to remodel my entire unit including the following: New kitchen (cabinets, backsplash, countertops, light fixtures, appliances, sink, electrical outlets, etc.), new bathrooms (toilets, tile, glass doors, etc.), dining room (new bar with cabinets and countertops, all new light fixtures/Lutron switches throughout the unit, and all new paint. I was able to buy the recommended tile and grout, and she was able to make everything come together as a finished project. Ana was easy to work with and helped me choose the tile/cabinets/countertops/supplies for the remodel. She also helped with selecting new appliances which would fit best in my new kitchen space, and her team installed everything according to the agreed upon plan. She was able to complete the work in my condo quickly since it was the beginning of COVID and work had to stop in the building. Everything was done according to the agreed upon costs, and her team was able to source the supplies despite the shortages of materials at that time. One of the things I like about Ana and her team is that I trust her to do work in my place even after the big renovation. One of the things I like about Remodeling by Ana is that Ana is an interior designer and her husband Adair is the contractor; they both work together as a team, and I do trust them to work in my place even after the big renovation. They have also installed heavy mirrors/pictures and light fixtures last minute. I have referred them to all my friends and family and they are currently doing work on my close friend's house.

It went excellent and they did a great job. They repainted it, they put my floors down, they recounted cabinets, they redid my whole back and I got my bathroom remodeled. Actually, they remodel my whole house.

It was excellent. They're very detailed and pretty quick. They were really easy to work with. There's one mistake and they fixed it right away. They're good people.

The service was well. They show up on time. The customer care was very good. They pay attention to what I wanted.

Design By Ana did an amazing job at my condo . I hired them to do a full renovation of my condo. They did such a clean and phenomenal job. The bathroom design came out just like I imagined, the kitchen also turned out so good that all my friends are wowed by the final results , Ana listened to my ideas and concerns and always had been a great person to work with. The team was professional and polite , their job exceeded my expectations that I referred them to many other homeowners in my building . Ana is a consummate professional. She has installed and restained hard wood in our home twice. They are efficient, maintain clean work environment with great clean up of sanding dust. We moved and she replaced carpeting with LVP. The shipment was delayed and she personally drove down to FL to pick it up because we had a move in date that couldn’t be changed! They installed in time for our move in. Will use her again, when I can, to do remodeling in kitchen and bathroom. Highly recommend.

Amazing!!!! Ana and Adair did my bathroom remodel at my condo and new home. They are pros at hardwood floors. They made my 90’s dark brown hardwood floors turn to “white oak” like floors. Amazing and beautiful. I recommend them 100000% percent. Ana has great taste and her design choices are spectacular. She knows that I’m picky or indecisive. She helps me choose wisely and make me not regret my decision or guide me to what I should get. She is honest and true! Exactly what you need in a design and build team. They are coming back to finish the rest of our bathroom remodels in our house and we are looking forward to it. Ana and Adair are a great duo partner and love their work. It’s so great that Buckhead Grand condos directly refers them for all their projects when condo home owners need work. That’s how I met Ana. She helped me when I had an emergency repair situation and got me through it every step of the way. Anyone at Buckhead Grand would say their work is fantastic!! I 100000% recommend their work.

Target Floors - Adair & Anna were wonderful to work with! They were very easy to communicate with and always answered our questions promptly. We had hardwood floors installed on our 1st floor and hired them again to finish our basement which included a bathroom. The workmanship was nicely done and we love our updated home. Always showed up when they said they would, organized and neat too. Also, we have referred them to a few friends and everyone has been pleased. You will be very pleased with Target Floors!

We cannot be happier with our floors. The detail and care put into our floors by this company was amazing. The floors look beautiful! The crew was courteous, clean and skilled. Under the leadership of Ana and Adar (pardon if I spelled incorrectly, you will get beautiful work with attention to detail. They understand design and will guide you if you are looking for input. A trustworthy company. We plan to work with them again in the near future. My neighbors were so impressed, they hired them as well. They had hardwoods installed and a 2 full bathroom re-models.
