Nesbit Landscape

Removed existing 8x8 pressure treated retaining wall and pavers, as well as other fill material under the deck. Installed correct drainage and fill material. Constructed a new patiol from stacked block retaining wall and patio pavers. Demolition of the old wall/patio went quickly. Initial work to create the wall foundation went well, but cold weather and rain held up the installation, so overall it took longer than anticipated. Meticulous attention to detail in creating the foundation, insuring the entire structure and stairs were level and true. The edge of the patio ended up slightly higher than anticipated, so we added a railing to the project. Once the patio was completed, we also has Nesbitt do the landscaping on the rear hill according to the plan they had made with the original estimate. Overall, extremely please with the professionalism, workmanship, and the results. We continue to use Nesbit for our weekly lawn maintenance, and are very pleased with that, too.

I requested Nesbit to come out and quote two decorative stone walls to be built around two large trees. He told us we would be happty with it initially, but as the trees grew the exposed roots would stress the walls and leave them cracked. Nesbit had many alternative suggestions and ideas. They were put down on paper and discussed in length with us. Nesbit was prompt, professional and thorough. Communication and coordination was never an issue with Nesbit. We are most pleased with the work they did.

Eric was very responsive to our inquiry for a quote. It took a few tries at getting a good day and time worked out but he responded and communicated promptly. He was great at assessing the issue and noted several areas through out our landscaping that could use some TLC not just the the problem areas we had called him about. He is a great listener and remembered many details of our individual likes and dislikes. He incorporated that information in to plan that he proposed. Any changes during the design phase were met with a positive attitude. His crew was AWESOME. Eric was there to get everything started. The installation crew took care not to tear up our grass while transporting heavy materials to get to the project area. When the installation was done you couldn't even tell that his crew had been there. All miscellaneous supplies etc where hauled off and gone. Eric had some issues finding some of the plants that he wanted to use at the time of our installation but he didn't burden us with it he just kept us informed as where he was in getting them. Any substitutions or changes at that time were very acceptable and didn't cause any cause for concern for us. It's really nice to have someone not make their problem ours. :) The design is gorgeous.

They did a good job following up about the estimate, however they were too far out of the ballpark and budget.

We are very pleased with the work done by Nesbit. The particular variety of Zoysia they recommended looks great and should be more shade tolerant than the grass that was replaced. They did a good job of preparing the soil by tilling it, adding additional top soil, and adding fertilizer based on the results of soil analysis (which they recommended we have done). They also repaired a component of our existing sprinkler system that we discovered was not working at the time they were installing the new sod. Two months later, the new sod is doing well. We are very happy with the service provided by Nesbit and would use them again.

Great. It's rained several times since and there is no water pooling in the yard.

We decided to use Nesbit landscaping due to Eric's willingness to go the extra mile and came back several times after telling him what we would like and he came up with a couple of designs which were to our liking. I plan on using him again and would definitely rate him 5 stars.

Eric and team did an outstanding job. We had bermuda sod put down in our side yard and back yard where there was only bark chips. I expected the sod to be put down, but the lawn edging and design made the backyard look outstanding and far exceeded our expections. Excellent work and excellent outcome. I would hire these guys again any day and I am very picky.

I was visited a couple of times by Eric and appreciated his time and professionalism, although I have decided to contract a different service provider which presented a better proposition. I would definitely consult with Nesbit again and recommend based on my contact with Eric.

We wanted a landscaper to help us solve a few problems with our yard. The main problem was the back lawn where we were unsuccessful in keeping a fescue turf alive and well. We were tired of over seeding and watering each fall only to have mixed results. The only thing left in the back lawn were weeds and mud at the time we started contacting landscapers. Nesbit Landscaping was the fourth landscaper we contacted and the most responsive to our immediate need. Other companies put us off and would not consider our project until fescue planting time in the fall. We also had a couple of areas in our front yard where trees had stood where we needed to sod in the beds with 419 Bermuda to match the rest of the front lawn. We had two other areas where the lawn had died on each side of the house. We contacted Nesbit Landscape because of the Angie List reviews on projects about the same size as ours and because of the location of the business. Eric responded quickly. My first conversation with him was not very helpful simply because I did not know how to express myself well and may have given the impression I was pumping him for ideas with no intension of making a purchase. I stated that I wanted his "opinion" on what we should do with our lawn and he asked me if I wanted an opinion or a quote. My answer was that I wanted both. After that false start, I handed the communication responsibilities over to my husband who was able to express our desires well and come up with a plan in conjunction with Eric. As I expected, Eric had good ideas and proposed a plan that addressed our problem areas along with some plans for improvement on our curb appeal that we did not even consider. He proposed sodding a shade tolerant Bermuda or Zoysia in the back yard. Although he left the decision on turf up to us, he gave us some tools to help with the decision pointing us to a website, and places where we could see the different turf choices as well as loaning us a light meter. The light meter gave me the most confidence in our choice because I was worried we would not have enough light for a Bermuda or Zoysia. He placed the meter but reading it was my responsibility. Eric was able to convince my husband that we needed a sprinkler system, something we had resisted doing for years. I will not include info on that in this review because we paid a different contractor but it was Eric who scheduled the sprinkler contractor and Eric who convinced us of the necessity. Turns out we could not have so easily kept the lawn alive without that system. There was a small patch of about 12 Sq Ft. where the sprinklers missed and the grass died before we realized what was going on. Eric replaced that sod on his own initiative. That was above and beyond. The clearing and round up application went well. They even removed a small tree that was not in the original plan at no extra charge. The installation crew was polite and professional. The immediate results were stunning, a huge improvement. They even included pine straw of the beds which was not in our original plan. They moved some plants that I thought would be discarded and repurposed them along our back fence. A great idea! We did have a problem with fall army worms by the beginning of August. Eric responded immediately to our call about the Bermuda turning brown and diagnosed it. Treating it was our responsibility. Three of our neighbors also had their lawns treated. Fortunately the treatment killed the worms and stopped it from spreading to the Zoysia. The Bermuda recovered in a week or so. The reason I gave an overall grade of "B" instead of "A" was because of the uneasiness I feel about making the turf decision knowing that if it doesn't take, it will be my responsibility. I would have liked Nesbit Landscaping to do the light meter readings and give me more assurance that I made an acceptable choice in turf. It is an intangible feeling that I lumped under the category of professionalism. The installation and follow up was very professional. The price was a fair price, just not a super deal in my opinion. I plan to call on Nesbit Landscaping for my future landscaping needs.

We did not move forward with our project. It was a huge and very expensive endeavor, and we have decided to wait. When we are ready to pull the trigger, we will definitely be calling Nesbit.

Everything went well. Little confusion on my part regarding HOA approval and when the project should start but Eric worked with me on scheduling to wrap things up in 2 days. The crews cleaned everything up and hauled off the debris. They did a great job.

We found Nesbit Landscape on Angie's List and called to ask for an evaluation of a backyard drainage problem. We made an appointment for Eric Brummond to come to the house to take a look at the problem. We were unsure of what needed to be done to improve the flow of water along a fence in our backyard. Eric was able to determine where the water came from, how it flowed and why it was going into our neighbor's backyard instead of an area drain that was supposed to receive the water. Eric proposed a plan to improve the flow of water to the drain and to enhance the appearance of our yard. We then asked him to look at a side yard that also had a water flow problem and that was bare of grass. He again proposed a solution. He explained that his schedule was full and it would be a few weeks before he could do the work. He and his crew arrived when they said they would. The job took a full day (11 hours). They worked very hard, very efficiently, and very neatly. When the work was completed we had a small issue with the design of the dry creek bed. I called Eric, and he came out the next day and addressed the issue himself to our complete satisfaction.

I contacted Eric Nesbit after reading my monthly Angie's List mag. I had been shopping out contractors for a patio upgrade for several months and was at my wits end. Eric contacted me within a few hours of leaving a message and we set up a time for him to come out. Eric came out, sized up the job, and provided excellent ideas. He then committed to providing a quote in a day or two and followed through with that deadline. His quote was fantastic, and when we made some alterations to the job, he was prompt in revising the quote and we hired him on the spot. Eric then provided a timeline for start and project completion. His crew started on time and were professional. They worked at an astounding pace and completed the job in 11 or 12 days. Once completed, Eric did a walkthrough and repaired anything that I asked and even replaced my grass with new sod where it had died from construction. He did that without asking and that really went a long way with me. Eric was always available for ideas and questions. He made any and all changes that we asked for, and provided consultation. He is a true professional and we will be hiring him again in the future. He was very easy to talk to and followed through on his promises.

Nesbitt Landscape did a thorough and complete job, including the clean-up. I really appreciate Eric Brummond?s extensive knowledge of ornamental trees and shrubs as well as his candor and honesty. I give Nesbitt Landscape my highest recommendation.

I few things were left undone on the first visit, mainly pruning of some bushes. When contacted they came back out and took care of it. They also planted some flowers in a bed in the front yard at no cost.

This was my first Angie's List experience and the whole process was great. I had three different landscaping companies come and look at what I wanted done. I narrowed it down to Nesbit Landscaping and American Landscaping While both quotes were similarly priced, their proposed plant materials were very different. Since it was hard to make a decision solely based on what's listed on a piece of paper, I asked each company if they could provide a rough sketch of what the final design would look like. Eric from Nesbit Landscaping came out that evening with a sketch and personally reviewed everything he was proposing. American Landscaping sent me an email that said I needed to "hire a landscape designer and he or she will design it like you requested for a specific price, usually around $300." After that it was an easy decision to go with Nesbit Landscaping. Eric was great to work with, he's nice, personable and very professional. The work was scheduled for a week after agreeing on the plan. He and his crew arrived exactly when the said they would and got right to work. I had both plant beds in the front of the house redone as well as a bed in the front left side of the house, an area behind my mailbox and an area at the end of my driveway. They removed any unwanted plant material and even transplanted a couple of bushes I wanted to keep. The entire job took about 1 1/2 days to complete. After the first day the crew completely cleaned everything up even though they were coming back first thing in the morning. I met with Eric after the first day and we made some slight modifications to the plan, we took out a couple of plants from the original plan and added a bed of perennials instead. He also checked my sprinkler setup to make sure that all the new areas would be covered and added a couple of new sprinkler heads to cover some areas that weren't getting coverage. He also pointed out some drains which his guys repaired. Eric also took the time to go over how and when to prune each of the new plants. At the end of the day the final price was actually $400.00 lower than the initial estimate. I would definitely recommend Nesbit Landscaping to anyone based on my positive experience working with them.

I've known these guys for years and finally decided to turn over my monthly maintenance to them - even without getting other bids. The few times they have done work for me in prior years, they have always been fair - never tried to take advantage of a one-off situation. And the best part is, they know their stuff. These guys are pros and will take the time to listen to you and provide the best solution at a fair price.

The crew worked all day and removed years of leaves, put in new sod, new mulch, cleared out all the weeds, cleaned everything up and the yard looks picture perfect. They removed years of ivy from the trees, and placed new stepping stones. I have a huge yard front and back and they completed it all, very professional.

Eric Brummond, owner, is very personable and easy to communicate with. He is responsive by phone and email. Eric worked with my ideas to design the addition of plants and ground cover in an area where we recently had six large trees and several smaller trees and privet removed by another company. We have already received compliments on the work. The price was lower than the one other bid I received, although the proposals were not the same, so I cannot say the other bidder was necessarily too high. However, Eric was able to accomplish the look I wanted at less money - always a plus. We recommend this landscape company.

Very professional company. On time. Personal attention. Very well educated. Planned out the job, explained every step of the job. Thought out plan, crew knew exactly what to do when they arrived and went right to work. Attention to detail. Great cleanup. Couldn't ask for anyone or anything more professionally done. Just to add an update------ 4/23/14 Still awaiting company to come back to fix and adjust some minor items. I was told they were going to be here 2 days ago...am still waiting...no phone call email or anything. 5/21/14 Company came back to make minor adjustments. While company made these adjustments, I feel that the quality of work was compromised and could have been handled with a little more TLC.
