CALLED THIS COMPANY FOR A ESTIMATE . OWNER (DOMINCIL) CALLED BACK PROMPTLY THE NEXT DAY FRIDAY , WE SET APPOINTMENT FOR SATURDAY AT AROUND 4PM . HE DIDN'T SHOW . I TEXT HIM ON SUNDAY TO GET AN EXPLANATION OF WAY HE DIDN'T MAKE THE APPOINTMENT AND WHY WASTE MY TIME . HE TEXT BACK, " I WAS RUNNING LATE ON MY LAST APPOINTMENT ". NO COURTESY CALL AND NO SHOW . NOT GOOD BUSINESS !!! .

It did not go. They did nothing for me and I won't call them again.

Dominick came out to give an estimate for replacing our existing deck, which included expanding the deck footprint and relocating the stairs. Of the three estimates I got, Innovative was the lowest, but his reviews on Angie's List were consistently better than the other two companies. Dominick and crew showed up on a Thursday afternoon to demo the old deck; they returned on Friday morning to start on the new deck. By the following Wednesday, we had a completely new deck. I can't say enough good things about the quality of workmanship on the job. Incidentally, his price included the demo and haul away of the old deck, and the other two contractors this was a significant separate charge. We are considering adding a roof/screened in porch to the new deck, and if we decide to proceed, Dominick will get our business. I highly recommend this company, and would absolutely hire them again.

Perfectly. Dominick came by the house on Saturday morning and looked at the deck. I knew generally what needed to be done, but asked him what he thought should be done to not only return the deck to it's original structural integrity but to improve and strengthen it further. The deck is elevated about 15 feet above ground and overlooks a wooded creek bed which is another 20 feet down - so we don't want it to fail. Dominick's suggestions made sense and his price was right. The work crew arrived on time, did the work to spec, cleaned up and left. Dominick then sent me photos of the repairs/improvements. Today, when we walk onto the deck, we can tell that the additional bracing and improved supports have added stability to the deck.

Dominic listened to what I wanted and exceeded expectations

This company went way above my expectations. I called them a week ago and within 24 hours they were out giving me a an estimate which was extremely reasonable.they also agreed to complete this large project before my son's wedding and were able to complete the week before. The metal rail of our deck has always been very flimsy and we were almost going to spend several thousand dollars to replace it but Dominic, the foreman was able to attach it correctly and it was as good as new and very sturdy. Also our old deck was warped because the previous contractor did not use the proper support. Dominic, the foreman immediately knew how to remedy the situation and this deck is now as sturdy as stone mountain. I would immediately hire this company for any other services without hesitation. May do an outdoor kitchen soon and will definitely use these guys

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a contractor. Dominic gave a very competitive price up front and stuck to it even when we asked for some minor changes. He had sub-contactors for the concrete, electrical and staining. All were top notch, and Dominic made it seamless. He coordinated EVERYTHING with them, and when we wanted something changed, he coordinated that with them too. He is customer focused and I cannot wait to have another project (and more money) so we can hire him again!!! Too bad there is not a rating higher than "A", because he would have gotten it. He built us a true outdoor oasis surpassing all of our expectations!!

Knowing that Angie's List is an important resource to locate professional and dependable contracting companies, I choose Innovative Woodworks ( one of two companies I contacted) from the list of Angies List construction contractors to contact. I spoke with Dominic McGrath/owner, and "very clearly" outlined my construction needs. I explained that is was a small job ( replacement of front porch flooring on my 102 year old period home in historic Ansley Park). Mr. McGrath said that he was working on a home in Decatur, and would gladly come by that evening, on 5/5, to review and provide an estimate. He asked if the time would work for me , and that he would call one hour prior to his leaving for our appointment. Mr. McGrath... OWNER, 1. Never showed up 2. Never called me to cancel 3. Never called back the next day to return the telephone message I had left him. This is not what I expected of a supposed highly rated company, nor owner of a company. What Mr.McGrath may not have realized, I always start off with a smaller project to determine the work ethic of a company prior to larger projects in the future. A $10,000 porch floor replacement could have turned into a $90,000 kitchen update, and then after that, a $60,000 bath project. A professional work ethic is KEY in my book when hiring someone to work for and with me, in the case of Innovative Woodworks there seems to be NO professional work ethic by this particular business or business owner. The moral of this unfortunate story, Innovative Woodworks is unreliable, unprofessional and has no way to spin a response back that I couldn't be contacted. Customer Beware!

Let me just say... We are needy when it comes to projects. As is always the case, the process began a year prior to the actual work. We worked with Pete and he was simply awesome. Absolutely no pressure, just information. This is exactly how it should be. Fast forward a year and we're finally ready to make this happen. He remembers details that we went over 1 year prior. I was impressed. Let me just say: This was the only company that agreed that we could retain most of the existing structure of the original deck and simply update the necessary areas. This was a huge benefit to our budget and they understood that. I was happy to work through the details with Pete prior to the work beginning. Michael, the carpenter was simply amazing. He listened to all of our requests and made them realities. Let me repeat that.. He listened. He spent the time each time and simply listened. It's amazing how many people don't understand that "art". He built an amazing deck that we'll be calling our outdoor space for years to come. The work he did to create the screen-in porch was incredible. There were so many amazing details added to our deck to make it an unbelievable work of precision. Also, they kept the jobsite clean the entire time. Each evening, they would sweep and cleanup and leave only the minimum amount of items in the yard. I would recommend (and I have) this company to anyone looking at a deck for their home.

We are extremely happy with the porch. It's honestly more beautiful than we had imagined, and we found Dominic and his crew really easy to work with. They had all sorts of good ideas for how to make the porch fit in with the rest of the house, so the integration is flawless, and they were very accommodating of a DIY-minded husband who wanted the scrap wood for projects. Amazingly, the whole project only took a week, start to finish (they worked long hours). They kept the site clean as they worked, were genuinely friendly. We are really happy with everything, and recommend Innovative Woodworks without any reservations.

If you are looking for a deck replacement, I strongly recommend you contact Dominic at Innovative Woodworks. I received bids from 3 highly rated companies on Angie's List and would have been comfortable working with any of them. Innovative Woodworks was 15-20% less than either of the other companies. While saving money was important, getting the job done right and on time was also important to me after a recent challenging experience remodeling our bathrooms. Dominic was great to work with ... making multiple visits to the house to discuss the work, providing and adhering to a schedule, handling all of the city permitting and HOA paperwork, and following up every step of the way. He and his crew showed up exactly as planned, were extremely easy to work with, kept the place clean throughout the process, and delivered the project on time (even while fighting bad weather). More importantly, Dominic really cared about how the project turned out, making great suggestions on how to improve the overall look, adding architectural details ... at no additional cost. The deck turned out great ... exceeding our expectations. Several neighbors have stopped by to comment on how great it looks. Overall summary... very professional, pleasure to work with, and totally "no drama" ... a far cry from our recent bathroom experience..

Dominic (the owner) came out and worked with us, listened well to our wishes and concerns and provided a very transparent model to understand the price. That way we could think about scaling up or down. At the second meeting it didn't take long for him to understand what we were looking in the details. This, combined with a fair offer, made us decide to move forward with them. The guys didn't have a lot of luck as they were building during a cold winter, but it didn't stop them from delivering very solid work. Some changes needed to be made during the construction. That's the moment of truth with regards to communication and they did very very well! Dominic (the project leader) is very thoughtful, a good eye for detail & quality, and service oriented. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking to get their dreams come true. I have done many projects in the least 20 years and somehow many have a tendency to 'sell' better then they deliver. This team over delivers!!!

I recently moved to Sugar Hill and wanted a home with a screened porch. I found a great home, but it did not have the porch I wanted. I was hoping that Angie's List could help me, and it sure did. Innovative Woodworks had great reviews, so I contacted them to see if they were interested in building my porch for me, and I'm so glad that they were. I met with Dominic White and he took a lot of time to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted. I had met with two other builders and they were rather dismissive and in a hurry to get to the next estimate, but not Dominic. He gave me an exact estimate and start date, and my porch was started on time. Dominic and his hard working crew worked long hours and I not only got a beautiful screened porch, but a well-built one. It far exceeded my expectations. Throughout the process, I was treated professionally by Dominic, and he never failed to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend Dominic White and Innovative Woodworks.

I requested a estimate to replace my existing deck. I contacted them and scheduled the estimate. They came out took measurements and I never received any response after more than two weeks. I tried calling and emailing and no response. My deck is only 12x8. Its possible that a small job was not worth the time of being professional enough to provide an estimate. I would not use or recommend them after this experience.

Dominick is AWESOME! First, I sent him some photos of the rotted areas by text message. He responded to my request within minutes. Due to some scheduling issues, he told me it would be a few weeks before he could do the repair. Amazingly, three days later, he shows up at my door asking if he can do the repair then and there, and he did. He got it all done in under 30 minutes and I was on my way. This company is fantastic! When they originally built the deck, we worked with their estimator on the design, went through several iterations, and finally came up with a pretty cool deck. Dominick and his crew built the deck in one day, and it was pretty complicated. The original price of the deck exceeded $7,000. The job site was spotless after they left; the crew was so kind and courteous; Dominick gave great advice on how to care for the deck long-term; just A+++ professionals all the way. And their price was competitive, especially for the work they did. I would use them again and again and again....they are THAT GOOD!

They did an awesome job! They were prompt, gave us all options, never forced us to make any decisions and always gave their honest opinion. They were also very professional, did everything they were supposed to do and never wasted any time. They normally worked from 9AM-7 or 8PM

Tore down our old deck and built a brand new ~800 sq ft deck. The pricing was a bit high compared to some other bids but you got your money's worth. After the estimate, Jasper sent us both the $ estimate and a 3-D rendering of the new deck. The crew was very accommodating and worked around our vacation schedule. After building the deck, a few things needed tweaking - e.g., some of the boards dried too fast due to the heat and needed flipping or replacing because they cracked. Jasper & crew came out within a week and fixed all the boards, plus fixed the wiring for our deck lights. Overall excellent quality work and very responsive. Will probably use them again for future work.

Overall, I would say that this was a good experience with minor issues but no contractor is ever perfect. Before signing the contract they said they could finish the deck by July 4th. This did not happen and to make me feel better they gave an additional amount off the total deck cost. After that and we signed the contract they did start on time on the date they gave me. Dominic was very helpful and receptive to all our questions and requests during his phase of the project. There were 3 other workers working on the building of the deck and the porch. They built the deck by the middle to end of the 1st week. The screened porch took another week to build. Overall we were very happy with the results. The only slight issue was with the painter they contracted out with. They took several days to come due to weather and their unavailability. Since this delay, the deck got a little dirty from trees etc. When the painter finally arrived, I asked if they were going to pressure wash the deck as talked about with Dominic. This did not happen and due to this and the delay in painting half the deck in a couple of hours the stain on the deck looked very odd and did not match the other side. When I tried to talk with the owner of the paint company, he pretended he could not speak English and then denied anything looked odd. Once we asked Dominic to get involved, the painter finally agreed to re-stain the deck. Besides this slight issue, we love our deck and truly enjoy our screened porch with a fireplace. Would highly recommend them compared to all the other deck companies. We interviewed 4 companies and they were the best and the best price. Everyone whom comes to our house absolutely loves the deck and screened porch!! One year later: We need to call them to come fix the door to the deck. It isn't closing all the way. Dominic said this could possibly happen and for us to call them if it does.

Contacted Jasper three mos ago to obtain proposal quote for deck replacement. Received a very detailed quote which we were pleased with despite the fact that this company was the highest priced provider. We decided to proceed and signed contract. Were told that it would be mid summer before they could start. They finally got back to us ( after several phone calls) and told us that they could start 7/14/14. When I called last week to confirm date/ time I was told they would not be able to start until Tuesday or Wednesday. Wednesday morning came and nobody showed up - no call no email. When I called office to check on status - they said they would call me back shortly. I finally received an email saying that they " just found out that the scheduled crew was no longer available". Based on their inability to schedule properly and honor their commitment I must say that I am not impressed with their customer service or consideration of our time.

We are very very pleased with Innovative Woodworks. The foreman worked on the main structure in the early days. Then the crew did the rest. We were thrilled with the lack of intrusion into our lives. I HATE HAVING WORK DONE ON OUR HOUSE. It's usually such a mess, with so many interruptions in our life. We have no complaints. They did cover up our back spigot, but if I'd said anything (didn't notice until they were done since I stayed away from it all) they would have put in a new one, I'm sure. Husband is very finicky about footings and beams and he is very happy as well. We have already recommended them to a friend, who also was impressed with the structure and the detail work in the wood, the footings, and the overall construction.

Highly recommend this company. I had a difficult time getting people to call back to gather quotes. Not this company - got a quick return call, scheduled an appointment, he showed up on time, and quote was to me in 24 hours. It was a detailed quote describing everything we had discussed at the appointment. On the scheduled date, the crew arrived on time and worked hard and efficiently throughout the day. By the end of the 1st day, they had a large amount of the work done. The next day, they came in and finished up all the rails. The craftsmanship and professionalism exceeded my expectations. We saw one rail post that had split badly when bolted on. When we mentioned that we were concerned about it, the crew replaced it without question. Every time I thought I might have to mention something that we had agreed would be installed, I'd walk out to find that it was done or they were working on it. We feel like we got a terrific deck that will be around for many years ( as long as we take care of it!). The price was a little less than another quote I received, so I'm happy with the value as well. Thanks Dominic and crew!

2 years later, and all I can say is totally awesome! Everything was hand-built from scratch - nothing prefabricated! Quality of workmanship is incredible. I am still amazed at "how did they build this" every time we sit out on the deck. Never had any leaks in roofing or around sunlight. Used all cedar and had them put down 2 coats of semi-transparent stain. Painters matched trim with our siding. Switched to aluminum balustrades instead of cedar - no regrets here. Used existing deck floor... but they added additional supports to conform to code. Electricians did incredible job installing fan, flood lights, and outlets. They spent additional time painting conduit to match white hardi-plank, and trimmed the rest in brown. The first remote for the fan was defective so they immediately went and got a replacement. We have never had any problems with the electrical. Carpenters also hung new gutters and spouts to match our existing. Project done in 7 days; had to wait on weather before painting; however it was completed in 1 day. Can't say enough. Best investment we've made in this home thus far. Will do business again without hesitation. Thanks for a GREAT Job!

Details of the job is are above. I called this company on 6/24/14 after receiving your list. I Left a message and Dominique called the next day, we met in the afternoon. He quoted the price which we accepted. Work would begin in 7 to 10 days. He called on July 1 and had time that day if OK . We highly recommend this company for any work they do & would use them for all reasons on your chart. . Dominique was very courteous, reliable and has excellent work quality. I can not remember having work done with such ease.

Dominic came on time, knew what he was talking about, understood our requests and helped us figure out all the details of what we wanted to do. He got us a quote quickly and even though it wasn't the lowest quote, he was so knowledgeable that we felt like we could trust him to make it happen with minimal intervention, delays, and problems. We were right. The other Dominic supervised the job. It took a week. It was clear they had done this a million times. They could predict problems before they occurred and handled everything. They were polite, patient and informative from beginning to end. The porch is absolutely STUNNING! It's the best investment we've ever made in our home. Don't hire anyone else to build a sun room or deck!
