Innovative Woodworks

The crew was very professional, polite, and prompt. They started work a few days after acceptance of their bid, and completed the project ahead of schedule. The quality of the work was exceptional, with great attention to detail. I'm very pleased with the project, and will certainly use them again for future projects. I received three proposals, and their price was in the middle. You can't go wrong selecting this company - they will exceed your expectations from beginning to end.

The porch is very handsome and fits seamlessly with the house's architecture. Roofing work was done professionally to include a cricket where the roof meets the chimney. Bead board ceiling cover enhances the overall appearance. I lowered the professionalism grade to a B because the porch did not pass DeKalb Co. final inspection the fist time. The company failed to request a framing inspection prior to finishing the roof. Also, open stair risers (above 30") are not allowed and graspable handrails are required. These violations were corrected, but I was disappointed that a company rep did not contact me to discuss the corrective measures and schedule a time agreeable to me to finish the work. As a result, I incurred extra expense to have my painting contractor return to stain the risers and handrails and paint the gutters and downspouts at a later date. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm pleased with the finished product. I would have appreciated the extra attention after Innovative Woodworks considered the job done. All workers were courteous and professional and seemed eager to meet my expectations. I do not hesitate to recommend this company.

We worked with Frank quite a bit in settling on a design for the rails and top boards. Frank is very easy to work with and brings a lot of experience and character to the process. Mike was the foreman on the job. He was a little spread thin with another job and was often offsite. I would've liked to see him on the site more, but his crew did a nice job and worked diligently. Mike was also very receptive to feedback and quickly resolved any issues. Mike proved to be very competent and pleasurable to work with. We're extremely pleased with the finished product. The deck is beautiful.

Needed to have my deck-boards replaced, steps moved to a new location and reconfigured. Needed some help with my sunporch - new flooring, window re-screened, etc. These guys were just excellent. They went beyond the call of duty and were helpful with anything I needed or asked about. I would use them again - and plan to, on other projects. Can't go wrong with these guys. So glad I checked Angie's List.

Everyone who I worked with, from the people that I spoke with on the phone, to the people who came out and gave me the quote, to the people who did the job, were very professional. They came out right on time and it was clear that everyone knew what they were doing. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

The crew from Innovative Woodworks led by Dominick could not have been more professional or courteous. We were extremely impressed with the quality of work performed and the job was completed on time. The only problem we had was with their dry-below sub contractor and that is continuing to be resolved today as it still leaks.

IW did an outstanding job! Their workmanship is top notch! There are many details built in that really make this deck unique. Anyone that has seen it has commented that it's the nicest deck they've ever seen. I'm a bit disappointed. Frank came out after the fact to price replacing my fence to match the raillings on the deck. He never responded. He was also going to send someone out to replace a couple of loose boards and one that was splintering. The roofers also left some shingles behind.

This was a great experience and I would recommend IW to anyone for deck work. They are clearly knowledgeable and passionate about their work. They live up to their name, Innovative. They created a unique space that helps make our townhouse a home. We truly enjoy the outdoor space now when it was previously something of an eyesore. Frank was very creative in designing something special even though we had a small space to work with - love the curved railings and special cut-out design. They even designed the deck around our favorite rosemary plant - which, by the way, has flourished since the deck was completed.

Innovative Woodworks did a fabulous job with my deck (which I reported on previously); however, they dropped the ball this time. Because they had done such a good job previously, I called them to ask if they would be interested in doing some interior woodwork - replacing our interior stair treads and risers. They said this was not their usual type of work, but that they would send someone out. They promptly sent someone out who was very professional, courteous, seemed extremely knowledgeable and interested in the job even though it was not typical for them. I was very interested in having him do the work and then he disappeared. I called twice and Lanelle was very professional, but there was no follow-up. I emailed several weeks later and still nothing, so I gave up. I am sorry that he dropped the ball. The professional thing to do would be to call and say that he couldn't do the job, too far outside of their normal range of work, but instead, no follow-up. I think he would have done good work and it reflects poorly on the company which is otherwise very strong.

The experience with Frank and his company could not have been better. We received 3 other estimates. One was more than twice as much and the other 2 almost the same price. We got much more for our money than the other 3 estimates. Frank took us to personally view work on other projects they had completed and the craftsmanship was readily seen. His customers raved about their professionalism and timeliness which I can echo. I even had his sons replace several windows and a door in conjunction with this project and they did a great job. His brother Joe does the electrical work and did a great job as well. They left the job site spotless when they were done. If you are considering replacing a deck you would be crazy not to have Innovative Woodworks give you an estimate and view their work.

It took them less than a week to finish the job. Very professional and efficient with their time. They stayed right with their estimate and cleaned up great.

There was one issue after work was completed (a small part of the concrete at the bottom of the stairs had a problem). They returned shortly after calling and repaired it. We were extremely pleased with the work and the workers, as well as the fair price.

Design and planning were instructional and speedy, offered more features for a lower price than other contractor. Crew was experienced, did a great job. Only complaint is the concrete pad at the bottom of stairs is inadequate-but this isn't their specialty.

It was very good. They listened to what we said and helped with the design. There was problem where they hadn't done something correctly, but they redid it with no complaints and did it quickly. They were very customer oriented and we were satisfied.

I had called several companies to get an estimate and Innovative was by far the best in responsiveness and price. Frank really took the time to talk to us to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. In addition to providing sample pictures of work, he also took us to a job down the street they were doing. This gave us a great idea of what our deck would look like. It took about 2 weeks for them to start, but the deck was done in 2 days! The second day we were out of town, but after watching them work the first day I felt comfortable not being there the second day. My first response to the completed deck when we returned was - WOW. It looked great, and my husband and I were very happy. A few of the other companies I called never called back or called me back days later. Lanette ALWAYS answered the phone and followed up quickly on anything we needed. Great customer service all around made the entire experience great.

Frank came to the house at the arranged time, and spent a few hours designing and quoting what I wanted. He gave me references, insurance and other materials. He told me to think about it and we would meet again in a week. When he returned I changed my mind and he made a new proposal to my specifications. He couldn't have been more knowledgeable or helpful. When the work started the three man crew worked 10-12 hours a day and completed the two decks in four working days. The qualify and workmanship was first rate in every regard. When they finished, they cleaned up completely. I can't recommend this company highly enough. They did what they promised, when they promised it. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.

There were minor cosmetic things we had to have them back to fix.

Frank came out with his laptop to show us some of the previous work that Innovative Woodworks had done. He then drew up the whole design of the deck along with pricing, material, & labor right there in our kitchen. We enjoyed listening to Frank's hilarious stories as well. As soon as he finished drawing up the design, we signed then waited 3 weeks due to backlog and we out on holiday. When we returned from our holiday, Lanette called me to tell me that the crew would be out the next day and would finish the job in 2 days. The crew was 70 - 80% done after the 1st day. On the 2nd day, the crew finished and removed all debris from the site and left the place as if they were never there. Overall, we have been very pleased with the quality of work and professionalism. Our neighbors have been very impressed with the craftsmanship as well!! Thank-you Innovative Woodworks!!

Great experience from start to finish. Very flexible and willing to work with me with minor changes to plan and work schedule. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. Work completed quickly and with good craftsmanship.

Frank was the 4th builder that I interviewed. He is very professional and instills a lot of confidence. He came with a laptop and showed a large portfolio of his work. He also brought a list of references, insurance verification, and his BBB certificate. He designed the deck on site and discussed a number of options and ideas. His design plan was for a bigger deck, with better materials and construction options, for less money than any of the competitors. He honored the Angie's List coupon. After he realized we had small children, he added a gate at the top of the stairs for free. His crew leader, Mike, was great. He clearly knew his craft and built a deck that will surely last. We couldn't be more pleased.

They were phenomenal. They stood behind their work as they came back to fix a small problem at no cost and without questions. Their professionalism made my experience all worthwhile.

They did a fantastic job. They charged us less than half of the original contractor whom we had contacted for a price quite. They cleaned up after themselves. We couldn't have asked for better service.

They did great follow up. They came around to fix the little problem we encountered after they left. They were here when they said they would be and their work ethic was outstanding. They finished the job quickly! They were the cheapest bid I got too, so it was a win-win experience all around. I have recommended him to other people already.

The work they did turned out great and we are very happy with the results. This company also does other construction and home improvement jobs but their main business is in decking. We do have them bidding and working on an addition on our house at the moment but they have not completed it yet. We are very happy with them.

They did a nice job on my deck. We are enjoying our pine and cedar deck and porch very much! I now wish we had made the whole thing a screened in porch so we could enjoy it all year round.
