+ 0 moreI got one job done because small stuff that had to be fixed at home, I called and he charged me $300 and after the doorbell was not working 2 months later, I called them and they want to re-bill me again to come back and fix it which is absolutely ridiculous. I would not recommend from my experience. I'm not saying that they are bad people or something, he did the work but if something again happen and they charge for it, they'll not going to come back and let you pay for it again or something and he charged for something that he just looked at it. I would not recommend him for handy work in the home. He did a lot of couple of things under the sink, some fixing, he did my doorbells which did not work after that, he replaced all the doorbell outside, those switches, it did not work after they did it, the wire was actually burning and they wouldn't come back to replace them unless I pay for them. I really had a bad experience with them. They did not respond.

I chose them because I either saw their truck running around here and one of our neighbors had used them or I saw them on Angie's List; I'm not sure. I think I saw them doing work in the neighborhood. They were very knowledgeable, and they cleaned up their mess. My overall experience with them was excellent.
Description of Work: Andy On Call came out and fixed a defect in an automatic garage door for me. The automatic mechanism had broken. They came in and found out what the problem was and fixed the broken door right away.

+ 3 moreThis company is top rate. They showed up on time. Final price as quoted. They had to take down a piece of granite behind stove to install stainless steel backsplash. They did a wonderful job. They also built a window box seat in kitchen that looks like it was an original plan of home. They also put on a low rise deck off of the screened in porch. This job got tricky with all the requirements from city, but they were well equipped to get the job done. They work hard, fast and professionally. Jean Alexis is the crew chief and motivates his guys to get the job done right the first time and will step in at a moments notice to make sure all is done correctly.

+ 0 moreWhen I first contacted Andy On Call, the representative on the phone was very nice and helpful. I scheduled an appointment to have someone look at the windows to give me an estimate. The handyman was on time and knew exactly how to fix the problem right off the bat. He came for the estimate, but offered to go ahead and fix the windows so that I wouldn't have to schedule another appointment. He fixed the windows and was done after about fifteen minutes. He fixed the problem and was efficient. And another great thing is that there was a coupon, so I received $25 off. Great experience and will use them again.
Description of Work: I contacted Andy on Call to help fix 2 decorative windows that were located on my roof. They needed to be shut and sealed.

+ 0 moreWhat a massive disappointment. I joined Angie's list to be able to find reliable contractors. Andy on Call looked like a great choice. At first, it seemed to be the right choice. I called and they sent someone to my home for an estimate the same day. Scott was the estimator. He was professional and discussed the fence repair work with me in detail. When he finished, he indicated that I would receive the quote in approximately 24 hours. I waited 3 days with no word so I called their offices. It seems Scott resigned and no one followed up on his estimates. In fact, they didn't even know he hadn't sent me a quote before resigning. So, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled for another estimator. Since the work was relatively straightforward and outside and I was due to be out of town, we agreed that the estimator could come when I was not at home on a Saturday morning. 24 hours before they were to arrive, they reschedulle for the following Monday morning. Once again, due to business I advised that I could not be at home. I was assured that would be no problem. Before I left that Monday morning, I took pictures of the area requiring repairs and left those with notes from my original discussions with Scott in an enveloped labeled "Andy On call" taped to my front door (which is highly visible as you approach the house and the areas needing work). It stayed there for 2 days. They never showed. They never called. There was no estimate. No wonder Scott left this company. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ANDY ON CALL.
Description of Work: I have a fenced in back yard. To the left of my house is a two gate entrance to the backyard. To the right of my house at the end of the driveway is a single gate entrance to the back yard. The 2-gate entrance is literally propped up and needs to be replaced. The 1-gate entrance is sagging and difficult to open and close. My request is for both gates ot be rebuilt and reinforced to prevent future sagging.

Description of Work: We have used Andy On Call twice and were very please both times. The first time David did a number of things for us and did a great job on all of it. He repaired some doors, installed 3 toilets, regrouted some floors and a shower, installed 2 vent fans, repaired a hole in sheetrock. The next time Kevin tore out mold on sheetrock and insulation and replaced and painted.

+ 0 moreThe company was very responsive and receptive to my phone call. An estimater was sent to estimate my job. I was given a rough estimate verbally and told that a formal estimate would follow in a day or so. The formal estimate would be the price I could expect to pay. Unfortunately, I never received the formal estimate, I didn't even recieve a follow up phone call. This left me quite disappointed and I ended up going back to the list to find another contractor.
Description of Work: I described my needs as a small fence job. The existing fence was falling down in a couple of areas and my dogs had learned to escape as well as open the gate. All the fencing including the gate is 4' high chain link and I needed help in finding a solution.

We are so appreciative of the professionalism and of the craftsmanship and feel that we have gotten a solid value for the money we committed to this project. This is the second instance of our employing the services of Andy On Call - we will absolutely continue to work with them for our future home improvement needs.
Description of Work: We have had an outstanding experience with Cristian Liliac through Alliance Home Improvement and Andy On Call. The work that we required was tedious, at best - wood rot repairs of 2 soffits and of the trim around the chimney. Cris was undaunted, however, and was confident from the outset that the work wouldn't be too difficult. Cris was promptly responsive to all our communications and extremely accommodating with scheduling of meetings and of the work itself. His knowledge of his craft helped us to understand the limitations and possibilities of our request to repair the current damage and to minimize/avoid future similar problems. He was also very efficient with the quoting and project definition process; even after we amended the project somewhat, he was more than willing to re-assess and re-quote. On the day that the work was scheduled, Cris arrived on time and set about his work. Within 45-60 minutes, the front soffit was replaced, caulked, and painted. In even less time, the back soffit repair was done. The job of replacing the chimney trim was more complicated, but he worked steadily to remove the old pressed wood. Additionally, he treated the water-damaged areas with Kilz to help stave off future problems. I had requested that the trim be replaced with PVC, but he was unable to find the requested materials. Understanding that our underlying requirement was that we not have to fight the woodrot battle again, he made the appropriate executive decision to use HardiPlank. When he realized that he was running out of daylight, we discussed the plan for finalizing the project; Cris agreed to return the following afternoon to caulk and paint the chimney trim.

+ -1 moreHe was so-so. He miscalculated on the paint and he didn’t have any rags so he had to use my rags. I never got my rags back. He wasn’t prepared and he never came before 10:00 in the morning. The job was adequate. I would not use them again.

+ 0 moreHe was a very nice fellow. He was very precise and overall did a great job. However, he seemed to be pulling prices out of his hat for the various jobs that he was going to do for me. Some were way over what would have been logical. I had to turn down 2-3 jobs because they were overpriced. It seems like there was not a system for his prices, he just kept pulling them out of nowhere.
Description of Work: I had a handyman come over here. He spent 4 hours at my house doing some handyman jobs. He hung 3 pictures, and did a lot of measuring. He hung more pictures in the basement. I then asked him to do some painting job, which I later refused. He also painted a door.

+ 3 moreMike arrived in a timely manner and was professional. He was happy to help offering suggestions and guidance for a single mother on a budget. He was flexible with scheduling and courteous to my children. He actually found a light switch in my bedroom which was installed incorrectly by the previous home owner. The switch was sparking inside the wall. Mike saved my home and possibly my family. He is friendly and takes pride in his work.
Description of Work: Several tasks were completed. I had a fan installed which was a challenging job. Several companies refused to do the job due to time and effort involved. The job was completed in a timely manner. Other jobs included checking all switches, outlets, fixing outdoor flood lights, light painting, etc.

Description of Work: Repair of an exterior molding (very large) over dining room window which had separated from house. The same was happening to molding around front door. He glued, nailed and repainted everything he worked on using the matching paint from builder. He also re-glued a half stone on front exterior that had fallen off.

Of the four estimates I obtained, the one from Andy on Call was the best. I hired Cason to return. He completed the work in slightly less time than he estimated and was very professional and courteous throughout. I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend Andy on Call.

+ -1 moreWhen the handyman first came, he could not identify the problem with the outlet or the leaky faucet. In fact, he recommended an energy surge test for the patio, which added to the bill and showed up nothing. I eventually had to call Andy on Call for a second handyman. The other handyman came out, identified that the outlet was indeed bad, and replaced it with an outlet that does not fit. That outlet went out about a month after they were gone.
Description of Work: I needed to have the back outlet fixed and the small bathroom leaky faucet repaired.

Description of Work: No work was done because the gentalman came by and looked at the work that was needed. He then said that he would call me and give me an estimate for the work and have not heard anything from him since.

She responded to my request for both electrical and plumbing issues by dispatching a representative on the day I called. My experience went down hill from there. The representative arrived at our home on time, but he was driving an extremely old and damaged sedan with ladders on top. He came to our front door wearing a muscle shirt - no signage on his vehicle and no uniform indicating that he was a professional, licensed or insured. In spite of the first impression, I invited the representative in our home to provide an estimate for the work to be done (running toilet and wiring of ceiling fan). His comments on both projects left us feeling uneasy, and the quote was high. Based on this experience, we contacted another company to complete the work.

+ 3 moreAndy's showed up on time and gave a fair estimate. They returned when they said, did all work in a very timely manner and came in under estimate. We feel we got a bargain as many companies we contacted were not interested in doing small jobs - even though we had 3 small jobs. The workmen could not have been more professional and replaced our siding in 97 degree heat without complaint. We thought the original estimate was very fair, especially with our Angie's list discount but the final cost was below the estimate. We love these guys and plan on making them our go to handymen for any future work.
Description of Work: Repaired fairly extensive siding damage. Repaired wood rot around garage door. Replaced electrical outlet and installed pendant light over kitchen sink.
