Description of Work: Company response is wrong. My review is on a service call his company made to my daughter's house in Atlanta. I am a Florida commercial real estate developer with 30 years experience dealing with tradesmen of all types, and I have seen more than one con job in my time. The repairman (who may be the owner?) responded to my call to repair a leaking LG bottom freezer refrigerator at my daughter's house in Atlanta. We were visiting her home and I was getting various items repaired for her. The repairman arrived, opened the freezer door, and without even getting on his knees to survey the problem, began to deliver what sounded like a well practiced explanation on defrosting cycles, heaters, and other technical jargon, none of which made a lot of sense. He then immediately grabbed his calculator and began his preclosing routine and finally delivered the diagnosis, replace this thingamajig and that thingamajig at a cost of over $400, until I began muttering just under my breath that it would be cheaper to buy a new refrigerator. He then said he could deduct 10% for first time caller, bringing the cost to just shy of $400. The closing line was that he had the parts in his van (I found out since then that LG parts are difficult to come by...only one authorized repairman in Atlanta-Norcross) and did I want him to fix it now?. I responded, no, that I thought I would get another opinion. He refused to give written estimate. I paid him the service call, joined Angie's list, and called another repair company from the list-Lanny Adams. Adams sent repairman Avery out the next day. Avery quickly and cheerfully went to work on his knees with screwdriver in hand prying and looking at the freezer door. He quickly surmised that the door was not closing properly and that the drain line was stopped up. The freezer was full of ice cause by the condensation from the ajar door. The drainline was blocked, which he opened up with squirt bottle full of hotwater. He suggested we put Clorox in drain line, which he did to kill any mildew and he greased the door tracks to ensure smooth operation. Total bill for for over an hour work and service call was $160. I can only surmise that the Appliance Service Pro Inc guy was a total scam and that people with whom they normally deal assume that when parts are replaced, that something legitimate is happening. My daughter would have accepted the first estimate and would have been out the additional $240 for the unneeded parts replacement. Unfortunately for subscribers of Angie's List, the first company to be displayed is this Appliance Service Pro, Inc. with an "A" rating. Before using thisi company please note the following info that will support my review. If you Google the 404-237-2882 company number, you will see multiple companies with same number. Although listed as a corporation by the corporated name, GA corporations search has no listing of the incorporatiion info where 98% of incorporated company names are listed-this one is not. Read online Topix review after review of nightmare experiences with this company. See website listed on the Angie's List is for Atlanta Appliance and not Appliance Service Pro. They also operate as Bee and B. I stand by this review.

Description of Work: Replaced the freon in the system after capturing the old remaining freon and replaced the motor for the ice dispenser.

Description of Work: Service call on refrigerator. Technician Alex was neat, professional, and very personable. He began to systematically go over the refrigerator. He removed the back panel in the freezer compartment to examine the cooling coils, and then took the lower back panel off to evaluate the compressor. Diagnosis was that the compressor was going south and he recommended that the refrigerator be replaced rather than repaired.

Description of Work: First visit was to repair a broken dryer. The motor was shot so we did not perform the work. They applied the downpayment for the new motor that we decided not to install on the dryer when I needed to replace an expensive part on a refrigerator a week later. Anton was pleasant and professional, and he explained what he was doing and why the expensive new parts were needed.

I called and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get an appointment the same day in my requested time window (4pm - 6pm). After troubleshooting the problem (both potential options + cost were explained to me in advance), the issue ended up being the main controller rather than a sensor (the lesser of the 2 options). Additionally, I had to have some "stuck" clothing removed which was an additional cost but was given 50% off that service price.

Description of Work: Replacement of baking element in double oven and connection on ERC repaired. DISWASHER- adjusted sloenoid, cleaned sump and resecured the top of the unit.

Description of Work: Both doors (refrigerator and freezer on my Frigidaire Professional refrigerator were making a loud clicking sound when opened or shut. Appliance Service sent a repairman out to determine the cause. It required a replacement of two subassemblies at the bottom of both doors. The cost included labor and parts.

Description of Work: dishwasher not performing as expected. daughter had not used because of film on dishes for months. wanted repaired for christmas. nothing wrong with washer except cap missing on rinse agent compartment. service tech ran complete diagnostics on equipment, talked to my daughter (she was at work) took time to explain what was occurring and how to avoid same problem. I put tape over rinse agent opening, ran dishwasher almost completely full, checked with daughter later and she indicated dishes were clean with no film. end result was very good and very pleased with service plus pleasantly happy with cost of service charge. big plus, called on 15th serviced 16th.

Description of Work: My refrigerator would not cool. The technician identified the problem within minutes. He told me he could either remove all the refrigerator contents, use a hair dryer and defrost the vents for a charge of about $150.00 or I could remove all the contents, turn the appliance off and defrost the vents myself and the fee would be $10.00. I elected to remove the contents and turn the appliance off. I was able to clean out all the mess and not only solved the problem but had a supremely clean refrigerator and freezer. The technician was very professional, funny and nice. The response time was incredible.
