The company did an excellent job. They were very professional. They did exactly what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. They did it at a good price. They did very professional work. I enjoyed working with them.

Were quick to schedule inspection and estimate when called. Original work order noted new roof and gutters and advised that care needed to be taken during chimney work. Gave different price options and details of each option in writing at that appointment. Originally scheduled chimney cleaning at the time of the outside repairs. Discovered that a chimney liner had never been installed on the stove insert. Took measurements and gave me an estimate that day. Took care to schedule installation of insert at same time of return trip to seal outside of chimney (had to be done a certain amount of time after the repointing in order for the mortar to cure). Very happy with the work done and had a much improved functional fireplace in time for all of the miserable weather in January and February!

They were fine. Their quote was reasonable. They were responsive.

The service technician called about 15 minutes before arriving and arrived at our home on time. I explained the issues with our insert - the switch to ignite the logs had stopped working and new batteries had not solved the problem. The technician repaired the switch - it needed corrosion on the contacts removed - then replaced the batteries in both the switch and the remote. He insured that the unit was working properly before leaving. He was pleasant and professional, and actually went above and beyond for me. I had had surgery a few days prior and hadn't been able to walk down our hill to get the mail from my mailbox. He happily agreed to help when I asked if he would retrieve the mail for me. An overall excellent experience. I would not hesitate to call them if any problems come up in the future.

Chimney Solutions did a good job of rebuilding my chimney chase, and replacing the chimney pan. I wanted some customization done to the chase, and we had a bit of a disconnect of what was anticipated, but they went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with their work. I have recommended them to my neighbor and they were also pleased with the work they performed for them replacing their chimney pan.

I called Chimney Solutions after seeing their add for free estimates in Angie's List booklet. I called to schedule an estimate and they asked where I lived to see if they serviced the area. After I told them (Stone Mountain), they told me there is a $199 service charge that could only be used towards the work if the work was started within 30 days. Since I was looking for estimate at this time to plan in the budget (I am a Dave Ramsey gal and only use cash), I told them I would call them when I was closer to doing the work. However now I really won't know when that is, because I have no estimates. If there is a charge to certain zip codes, I think they should place that clearly in their advertisement. I would also like to know, what zip codes do they not service without a $199 fee. Chimney Solutions responded that they would honor their add. Chris came on time was professional and informative. He cleaned my fireplace and said he will email estimates. He provided information for burning of different products.

Did a great job....Punctual, complete, and their price was better than other company who bid on the job.

I just bought a house, and noticed while moving in that there was a smell coming from the chimney. And also, the damper wouldn't close, creating a draft in the family room. I found Chimney Solutions on here, and called them to set up an appointment for Monday, 12/2/2013. The technician, Mike, called ahead to let me know he was on his way, and arrived at my house exactly at the scheduled time. He explained to me what he would be doing, set up his equipment, put down some protective drop cloths, and began his work. He worked on the chimney for a good bit, as it was REALLY in need of cleaning. When he was done cleaning, he performed an inspection on all of the fireplace & chimney components, and called me over to show me the issues he found during the cleaning and inspection. I had some minor cracks in the refractory, and he told me to keep an eye on them, as they weren't a major issue, but could be should they grow larger. He also found a couple of other minor issues that he pointed out to keep an eye on, and also took a few minutes to answer a few questions that I had, as well as showed me how to operate the gas log starter safely. He also mentioned that the company that manufactured the fireplace insert used in my house was no longer in business, and if it needed any major repairs or parts replaced, that the safe option would be to replace the insert itself (and from my previous experience with these fireplace inserts, Mike was 100% correct). I told him that I wanted to have a wood stove insert in the fireplace sometime in the next year or two, and he told me which models & sizes would fit best in the space I had without having to incur alot of extra expense, and also told me where to go to look at the units he mentioned. After he finished, he cleaned up his work area, we took care of the billing, and he left. I had heard some horror stories about chimney cleaning services being extremely dirty & service providers leaving a mess, but Mike cleaned up as he went, and when he left, the area was spotless. Honestly, I think the area was cleaner when he finished than when he arrived, and throughout the process there wasn't a spec of chimney dust floating around in the air. I was very pleased with the service provided (the chimney is now spotless, the flue damper now works, and the smell is gone), and with the professionalism and courtesy of the technician. If every contractor had employees like Mike, jobs would be done on time, on budget, and a quality job performed. I would highly recommend Chimney Solutions, and will be calling them again when I need chimney cleaning services or equipment installed.

We had hired Chimney Solutions back in August 2013 to do an inspection and chimney sweep for the two chimneys in our new house. One of the chimneys has two chases within them; one for fireplace on the first floor, and the second chase for the wood stove in the basement. For the most part, everything checked out and their technician, Mike Walker, gave us the thumbs up for the main chimneys we were going to use.. In the beginning of November, we fired up the wood stove for the first time and things were going well, but in the family room on the first floor we were getting a smoke smell. We couldn't see any smoke but we sure could smell it. We turned off the wood stove downstairs and called Chimney Solutions to come back out. Chimney Solutions offered to send Mike Walker back out for no charge. While Mike was out, we started up the wood stove and Mike went back up onto the roof to check out what was happening. As Mike was theorized, the smoke from the wood stove was hovering around and down drafting into our family room. Mike gave us some options including a cap damper for our upstairs flue. The option we ended going with is a simple metal cap with some caulking to prevent that down draft was the best option for us. Our upstairs fireplace has ventless gas logs so we didn't really need the chimney unless we decide to switch back to wood logs. Capping the chimney would work just fine for us. Mike had us fixed up in a couple of minutes and we were good to go. Thumbs up to Mike Walker and Chimney Solutions.

The work was done on time and efficiently. I am very pleased.

We called on a Saturday and were able to schedule a technician to come to the house on Wednesday. They scheduled someone to come at 4:00 and we explained that it was important for them to be on time because we had to leave at 5:00. They called on Tuesday to confirm our appointment. Michael Walker arrived at 3:30. He was patient and professional as we explained what was happening. Our main concern was that the damper in the fireplace in our home office was not closing causing damp and cool air into the house. He examined the chimney and discovered a safety clamp on the damper. He explained to us why the safety clamp was there and the importance of having one when you have gas logs. We requested that he remove the clamp since it prevented the damper from closing because we do not use that particular fireplace. He removed the clamp and left it for us to reattach if needed. He did the same for our other fireplace but explained the importance of making sure we open and close the damper if we are not going to use the clamp. He even looked at our gas grill even though it is outside the scope of why we called him. He determined it was not something he could fix and recommended we call the company who installed the grill. We were pleasantly surprised when at the end of the visit he told us he wouldn't be charging us for the service call. We will definitely call them again if we ever need work on our fireplaces.

They never showed. I had one contact through Angies List notification. I sent an additional e-mail directly to the company to provide a contact. I never heard from them. How do I get my money back?!!!

This is an example of where I had to just trust the provider. I have no real idea whether the caps were the wrong size and needed to be replaced. They showed up when they said and did the work outlined in the proposal and in our conversations. The job leader, Chip, was available via cell when I had a question. Linda, in the office, was also responsive and got the messaging and billing straight which I appreciate. I had one other company bid on this problem and the solution they recommended was not the right approach, in my view, after I talked in over with Chip. Chimney Solutions seemed very knowledgeable and offered several options and approaches with pluses and minuses. The mortar and repellent was about 50% of the job, and the caps were about 50%. I was surprised by how large the caps are and how much customized fabrication is required to make them and get them installed properly. We do not have any leaks after the repairs (also had a roofing company put in step flashing which was not there), and the new caps do not make as much noise when it rains as the original ones. I believe they did what they recommended and we paid what was agreed upfront.

Very well, we are awaiting to verify that the work fixed the problem. Overall, a very good company and easy to work with.

Very professional, courteous, polite and overall awesome experience. The work was slightly expensive, but they had to create a custom-made cap for our chimney. They did a clean, neat, and professional looking job. Would definitely hire again. Very punctual, explained and answered all questions and did an overall great job.

The gentleman who came to do the work, was very nice, and mannerly. Showed me what he was doing and showed what he got out of the pipe. Couldn't have ask for better service - Rick was very much the gentleman.

It all went great. The chimney technicians were very professional and nice. They showed up an time and worked non-stop through the whole day. They were respectful of my house and cleaned up after themselves each step of the process. I was very happy with their work.

From home office contact in scheduling the work to technicians that performed the work at our property, Chimney Solutions did an excellent job. Chris Cox, production supervisor/technician, is a consummate professional. I would highly recommend using them and will be calling them to arrange for a chimney sweep.

The service was excellent. They came exactly at the time they told me they would be here and left at the time they said they would.This was the third time they were here, they came to clean my fireplace in November and saw that there was a major problem. I then had a supervisor come to look at the fireplace to inspect and find the best solution. The supervisor Mike was excellent at explaining my options. The solution for the problem was fairly expensive so I needed to make sure that was the right thing to do. Jeremy, Jose, and Van were the were the 3 technicians that came to install the fireplace.

Used Chimney Solutions for chimney repair. Mike Walker came over and did an inspection of chimney brick falling into attic and exterior deterioration. He offered a less intrusive and less costly solution. I had concerns about the flashing around the top of the chimney and he brought in a coworker that dealt more with that area. I appreciate their honesty when he told me not to spend the money to tear it up as the water proofing would take care of it. He was right by the way. The work took 2 full days. Mike and his worker (Don, I think) were here early both days and worked non stop til early evening. Very nice, professional, and extremely polite. Explained what they were doing and allowed me to take pictures during the process. Cleaned up like they were never here. Work turned out great, the price was very reasonable. Couldn't have asked for better guys or a better company. They warranty their work as well. Would recommend in a heart beat!!! Thank guys :)
