Buyers Protection Group (BPG)

Scheduled us on short notice. Sent excellent inspector with architectural background. Thoroughly inspected every aspect of the house, including hard-to-reach and hidden locations. Used appropriate test equipment. Interacted well with other inspectors, such as the sewage system inspector. Knowledgeable and professional. Three months later, it is clear that no issues were missed.

Good experience overall. Inspection was performed on time and efficiently. Gerald Steinman was the inspector and did a good job with the overall inspection and gave additional ongoing maintenance suggestions important to keeping house in good condition and optimal operating capacity. Would use the service again and ask for Gerald to handle any future inspections.

I called the Home Warranty company. They dispatched my claim to a local Garage Door Opener company who called me to set up an appointment to diagnois the problem. They were out the next day and determined the Opener needed to be replaced and it also needed to be upgraded, as it was very old and didn't have the reverse return (which is a code issue) and they had to instal a totally new system,because the one in my garage is no longer available. The next day they arrived with all of the equipment they needed to replace and upgrade my Garage Door Opener. They removed the old equipment and cleaned up after themselves. Mr. Ron Entwistle was our home inspector. We arrived to the house a few minutes early, and he was already there. He explained what he would be doing that day and began the inspection. We followed him during most of the inspection (we didn't go into the attic or on the roof ourselves). He took lots of pictures for his own reference and for the report. He made suggestions throughout the inspection of how things could be fixed and/or maintained. He asked if we ever had a propane tank and septic tank before and explained how to care for them and showed us their locations. I even ran back out to the car to grab a pen and paper so I could write down all of the excellent information! He told us we would receive the report the following day, but it ended up coming to our email later that night. The report was very detailed with excellent pictures.

It went well. BPG was responsive, tracked down an excellent repair company who executed the work efficiently, skillfully and pleasantly.

.Bernard Hall was the inspector representing Buyers Protection Group. He was highly Professional in performing his duties as a home inspector. Bernard carefully inspected from the crawl space under the house to the crawl space in the attic. He found numerous flaws in the home which was vital information to have during the final price negotiations. I would recommended BPG Inspection Services to anyone, as long as Mr. Bernard Hall was doing the inspection. If he is an example of the type of inspectors BPG has, then you can't go wrong with this service.

We used BPG inspector Mark Warren in St. Louis. Even though it was easy to see he missed that our plumbing while new wasn't up to code. This cost use 2,000 dollars. The stated during inspection that they offer a 90-day warranty on their inspections. We I called to tell them that the plumbing wasn't up to code they said they didn't cover code violations. So I was out 2,000.

My realtor advised my AC was not working in the summer. I called BPG to repair my AC. They came out and advised they could repair this. There is a bad coil in the HVAC system that has been diagnosed from other companies. The only way to fix this is to replace the coil. I keep calling to let them know they have not fixed this issue, and I am trying to sell my home. They are unwilling to replace the coil because it is too expensive for them. This has been happenninig over the past few months and they are not willing to replace this product. In my policy it states they will cover this, when they are not willing to do so. Don't buy a home warranty from this company, I have had a very bad experience.

Took two days to find a part, but it works like new!

Got a recommendation for Chuck Turner specifically. I am a first time home buyer, so endless stupid questions and no idea how a house actually works. Chuck walked me and my wife through what he was doing, why he was doing it, what was important. The house we bough is actually in great shape, and still, the inspection report is 100 pages. It will basically serve as a roadmap for improvements and maintenance over the next 10 years. The sellers were very concerned when they saw the report, but I would argue that it didn't say much bad, it just said a lot. They offered to pay some closing costs to remedy some of the outstanding issues, and that was generous. If the report were not so thorough, I would not have expected that to happen. I can't recommend Chuck highly enough. I will always use him and recommend him to any friend that needs a home inspection, as well as to Angie's list members.

Tom was very nice and helpful to us. He explained everything he found, and answered all our questions. When he didn't know an answer he told us and gave us contacts for people that could help us. He was funny and relaxed which helped us relax during a stressful time for us as first time homebuyers.

Mr. Swain was very knowledgeable and professional throughout the inspection. I would recommend using Mr. Simon Swain and BPG to anyone.

Their customer service is good and the people they send out good people who know what they are doing. They are very professional.

Peter was very nice and very patient. He recognized that I was a first time home buyer so he spent extra time helping me to understand how to properly maintain my house in the future to prevent problems. If he saw something that could potential be a problem (like the piping in the laundry room) he told me what I needed to fix the problem (different piping) and how I can fix it myself. I also liked the way he always let us know what he found and whether it would be a potential problem or not. He was very knowledgeable and was the perfect person for my home inspector.

They had a laptop and took pictures and loaded everything into their laptop. They brought a portable printer and gave us a report on the spot. They were very thorough. This was the third home we've purchased, and this was the best inspection we've haad. Their report was very accurate.

They were very knowledgeable. His home inspection report that we received was very comprehensive. We received it in a timely manner. His rates were very reasonable.

We met our inspector, Dave Erie, at the appointed time. He had, however, already inspected the outside before we arrived. We walked around with him, he explained what he was looking for, what we should be concerned about, and even home maintenance things we should keep on top of in the years to come. He told us how we can shut off different items if/when we need to clean or repair them. He also told us things we should be concerned with if/when we decide to have children. The comprehensive on-line report--complete with pictures--is quite helpful. We had immediate feedback on the items that would go into the report. I learned a lot a lot on being a new homeowner. A class act!

We have bought several new houses in the past. Never did we have such a positive experience as we did with Jeff Pinyoun from LandAmerica. Jeff was incredibly thorough. He checked virtually everything...from the simple to the complex...from every door and window, light switch, fan, appliance, A/C, heat, brick, foundation, crawlspace, roof, to accurate slope, moisture levels, all with advanced instrumentation, pictures taken and incorporated into his report, etc., etc. Jeff has such a extensive knowledge of home construction. He spent hours on our home and on our report. In addition for ease of use, his report was made accessible through the internet (very technologically up to date) and was emailed to us within a day or two. We would highly recommend him for any inspection need. He is truly an asset to the industry.

I depend on Scott Johnson of Inspectech to do my home inspections before resale. As a master carpenter with many years experience in the field, he is very knowledgeable about what it takes to perform this service correctly. Most people lean heavily on software in order to understand or read what is necessary to inspect a home, but Scott has most of the knowledge already and can quote measurements and compliances from memory. He is very professional and very punctual as well.

He did a great and very detailed job, as well as submitting to us a very detailed report on his findings. Plus, he was very prompt.

Neil Ellis was rude and arrogant and in a great hurry. He told me,I don't have TIME to show you things again you need to stay with me! His work was in my opinion negligent. According to what I understand we were also charged a very high price for the house he inspected.

WHEN PURCHASING OUR HOUSE, WE HIRED INSPECTECH TO DO THE INSPECTION. OVERALL THEY DID A GOOD JOB, FINDING SEVERAL CRITICAL ISSUES THAT WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE THE SELLER REPAIR. THEY WERE A LITTLE HIGH PRICED, BUT THAT INCLUDED THE RADON TEST IN THE BASEMENT. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THEIR LEVEL OF SERVICE AND WITH THEIR USE OF THE INTERNET. THEIR REPORTS, RECEIPTS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS WERE MADE AVAILABLE AS PDFS ON THEIR WEBSITE, SO I WAS ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THEM. THIS WAS HELPFUL AS I WAS PURCHASING THE HOUSE FROM OUT OF STATE.

THEIR WAS A PLUMBING ISSUE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT DURING INSPECTION. SO AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION, THE WATER WAS RUNNING INTO HOUSE BUT AFTERWARDS NO WATER WAS PRESENT. SPOKE TO SUPERVISORS AND THEY MADE EFFORT TO COMPENSATE ME AND PROVIDE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN THE RESULT. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY.

WE HAVE ONLY USED THIS WARRANTY ONCE FOR OUR A/C. WE WERE HAVING SOME PROBLEMS, AND WHEN WE CALLED WE HAD A CALL BACK FROM THE CONTRACTOR VERY QUICKLY. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE TECH WANTED TO CHARGE US FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS ALREADY INCLUDED IN OUR FEES. I HAVE NOT YET ADDRESSED THIS WITH THE COMPANY.

THEY WERE FAIRLY QUICK IN RESPONSES, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE TIME WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT. THEY DID REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR ON THE AIR CONDITIONER AND GAVE ME THE OPTION OF REPLACING THE ENTIRE UNIT WITH A NEW ONE FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST, THAT I OPTED NOT TOO. I REPLACED THEM WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY WHEN IT CAME TIME TO RENEW, BECAUSE THEY WERE CHEAPER BY 33%.
