Yilber Velasco, the owner responded to my phone call immediately and was at our home within 1 hour of original call. He and his sales lead, Steve worked with us throughout the job on pricing and selection of our materials. Yilber and Steve worked with us to finalize a contract that met with our approval. Prior to this final meeting Steve and Yilber had met with our insurance adjuster at our house to discuss the additional damages he had found and they agreed upon a revised estimate for some of the additional work. There was some discrepancies between insurance and contractor that we ended up having to pay out of pocket. They both were very pleasant and knowledgeable overall. The foreman, Eddie, was polite and professional, as were the entire crew. The crew arrived between 7:30am and 8am and worked hard and non-stop until they were finished with the roof which took about 2.5 days. There was a period before the guttering was scheduled for replacement by a different subcontractor. Guttering and new downspouts were replaced in one day. Many of the same crew that worked on the roof returned a few weeks later after the special order siding was delivered. All siding on the house was removed in stages and the plastic wrap installed prior to new siding being installed. The siding took approximately 3 days to complete and at the end of the job everything was clean. Overall, it was a pleasure working with Mr. Velasco, who we have come to know as a professional, honest, courteous, and trustworthy contractor with a desire to deliver the best results possible. Even though our siding came in with additional charges per Mr. Velasco, he kept to the contracted price. He takes pride in doing the job well and making sure that the customer's expectations are met and even surpassed. We would definitely do business with them again! Update 6/27/2012 - Siding is falling off our home from the recent install!!!!! It appears that they did not use appropriate siding nails originally, based on nails on siding pieces that have fallen. This is now the second time they will have to be called out to fix siding that has fallen. Contractor will be be contacted. Will keep updates as to progress for resolution. UPDATE 5/2014 - Siding continues to fall off our home two years later. Do not use this company for siding installation. They are fairly good at roofing work and the contractor that they subcontracted to for the guttering do a good job overall, but the siding continues to fall where it was "glued" into place and they even cut the tabs off the pieces so they cannot be properly hung to correct the issue.

Everything was done with excellence from start to finish. All crews showed up early on each occasion and worked long hours and diligently. All were respectful, considerate and hard working. Pricing was very fair based on comparison with other estimates. If anything we got more than we paid for.

They are listed on Angie's List. They were professional and courteous. They worked very diligently. They replaced the roof in one day.

They wanted half the money upfront before they did any work and I didn’t want to do that. It was a fair estimate but I didn’t want to pay upfront. I would tell others not to call them, not that they are a bad company, but just because of the money upfront. They were friendly but I would not use them again in the future.

We discussed adding a skylight to the project and he helped us determine the most sensible option for what we wanted. The foreman, Jose, was polite and professional, as were the entire crew. They installed the skylight unit we had purchased, and it looks great! The job was done quickly and great care was taken of our landscaping. The crew worked non-stop until they were nearly finished with the roof before breaking for lunch, and they were very prompt in getting back to work afterwards. We have watched many of our near neighbors have roofs replaced recently, and haven't seen anyone take the care Artech did to protect our plants, and the clean up was wonderful! We haven't found any nails or debris at all! I can say I am very pleased we chose Artech!

He even took the time to educate us on every step of the process, and point out things we wouldn't have known to ask. We first contacted Artech (along with several other companies) through Angies List. Within less than 1/2 hour after submitting an email I got a call from Yilber Velasco (the Operations Manager and one of the owners). He was extremely pleasant and we made a date for an visit. Yilber showed up promptly when he said he would, took one look at our roof and told me that, in his opinion, our insurance company would replace the roof due to the wind damage that we had sustained. He waited while I called the insurance company and we made arrangements for them to meet at our house together at which point the adjuster agreed that the roof was covered. We signed an agreement after spending most of the afternoon discussing the various options. Yilber actually took a tour of the neighborhood with us to point out various types of shingles and roofing, letting us make our decision about color and style at our own pace. The crew arrived when they said they would, went right to work and WOW - what a crew. My wife's description ~ "I have to brag on this crew who did the roof work. What nice smoke & alcohol free young men! They were quiet and polite ....and talk about WORKING hard! Wow... they define work ethic. I'd have them back in a nanosecond if I had a job to do." Essentially they did what they said they would do, did it professionally and quickly and without problem. When a problem came along they simply handled it without complaint and went on with their work. We could not ask for a better experience. They even did things that I would never have thought of (like painting the vent pipes so that they blend into the roof). The crew itself was as professional as one could wish, but even so Yilber came on three occasions to see how things were going and make sure that we were satisfied with the work. Cleanup was excellent with almost no scraps left anywhere and their magnetized nail-finders did a great job of cleaning up nails. This company does it right from start to finish. We both feel like we've made some new friends.

Artech responded the very next day, and completed the job in a very neat, professional manner! I found them on Angie's list, and my son used them to put a roof on the log home he is building. We were both very impressed, and will recommend them!

I invited several contractors to give estimates. Artech came in with the best price, and they had the best rating on Angie's List. So I used them. He gave me his cell phone number and responded every time I called. From the moment my insurance company approved the quote, his crews came to my house and finished in less than a week. The first crew showed up the next day and finished the roof. That was a Friday. The gutter crew showed up Monday and finished the gutters. Fast, friendly and job well done! We've had a major rain since then and no leaks. We are very pleased.

The project manager was very punctual for his initial appointment with us to get the measurements and help us select the type/color of shingle we wanted. The dumpster was delivered as scheduled and the crew was there on the scheduled date and completed the job in five hours. They did a good job of covering our HVAC unit, decks, and bushes to protect them from damage. They also did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. This job was done in late January and we have had several hard rain storms since then and we have not seen any evidence of any leaks or problems.The project manager did an excellent job of working with our insurance company. When we got the depreciation check from our insurance company upon completion of the job, the owner of the company met me at our bank to indorse the check (as it was made out to my husband, me, and Artec) so that I could deposit into our account. He knew exactly what to show to the teller and was prepared. We will absolutely call this company again when we are in need of roofing services.

The showed up promptly, worked dillentgently and cleaned up after themselves. The crew was polite and the owner, Yibor, was quick to respond and answered all our questions compently.

2 men from company came to quote job. Provided quote instantly. I compared 3 quotes (Artech's from Angie's List recommendation, 1 friend's dad who is a contractor, and the company who did our neighbor's roof). Artech had the best quote. Reviews said they were good, so I went with them. They worked with me to schedule the job for a time convenient to me. They came, got 3/4 done first day. Cleaned up after themselves and properly secured portion of job that was incomplete. They came back at scheduled time as promised and finished. They cleaned up again and left our property clean as if they'd never been here. I'm not a roofer, but the job looks great and after a couple months we've had no issues. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone who asks.

Artech is new in the Knoxville area; mostly they are in Atlanta but opened an office here last spring because of the hailstorm that demolished many roofs. I called them along with two others. Mr. Yilber Velasco was professional on the phone, came at the right time for the appointment, was thorough in explaining what needed to be done and how he and his crew would go about doing the work. He did not try to convince me to do more work than was needed. His price was not the lowest, but it was in the same ballpark as the other companies I contacted. I picked Artech because of the time Mr. Velasco took to explain the job so thoroughly and he didn't do any of the hard sell or slamming other companies to get the work. He scheduled me right away with only a week's delay time after I decided to go with Artech. The work was completed in one day (a very long day) and they did a great job with the cleanup afterwards. The crew was polite and considerate, Mr. Velasco was very professional, and the roof looks great. I would certainly recommend them.

After our roof sustained significant hail damage several months ago and our insurance company provided an estimate of the damage and approved a total roof replacement we contacted over 10 companies on their list, plus several others from various other sources. Some did not respond at all and of those who did, left us either confused or not confident enough in any of them to a point of placing an order. Some would have required a long wait and /or did not normally supply the shingles we preferred and thought were best. Others were not certified by the shingle manufacturer and thus provided a very short warranty,2 years or less. Being discouraged with the lack of results we were happy to discover Angie's List. We immediately joined and within 5 minutes of our search we were drawn to Artech Roofing & Construction. The description of the company included all that we had hoped to find. We were further impressed by their perfect A rating in every category, across the board. Being impressed with the rating and positive comments from everyone on the site we e-mailed them requesting an appointment. We were amazed when within 10 minutes we received a phone call from Artech's Operation Manager, Yilber Velasco. An hour later we were meeting with Mr. Velasco at our home where he inspected our roof and assessed the damage. He also noted that we had additional damage to the house,( gutters, screens, shutters, etc.). He provided us with pictures and descriptions of the damage as well as detailed information on Artech and their certifications for installing our preferred shingles. He also educated us on best materials and workmanship required to get the best roof. His description of how Artech installs their roofs was very thorough and clear so that we fully understood what we would be getting. Artech's crews are fully certified to install all the top name brand shingles and provide full Manufacturer's warranty. All information was detailed and thorough and presented in a straight forward, clear, easy to understand manner. At no time was their any pressure to make a sale and we were given time to ask questions and we continued to do this over the next two weeks prior to making our final decision. All calls made to Mr Velasco were either taken immediately or returned within 15 minutes. We were not required to sign anything prior to our final meeting when everything we had discussed was placed in writing in a contract and met with our approval. Prior to this final meeting Mr. Velasco had met with our insurance adjuster at our house to discuss the additional damages he had found and they agreed upon a revised estimate for some of the additional work. The following Tuesday after our contract meeting on Saturday, all materials were delivered to our house, and they started work on that Friday, just as scheduled. They did the project over 3 days as scheduled. The crew arrived promptly at 8:30A each morning and worked until dusk each day, leaving time to clean up the property each day. The crew was well trained and worked well together. The foreman and all crew members were excellent workers that knew their job and did it well. At the end of the job everything was in perfect order and clean, even our long driveway had been completely blown clean of grass cuttings and leaves. It was an absolute pleasure working with Mr. Velasco, who we have come to know as a highly professional, honest, courteous, and trusthy service contractor with the highest standards and a desire to deliver the best results possible. Our new roof is outstanding and greatly enhances the beauty of our home.

Roof needed replaced due to major hail storm. After dismissing all the storm chasers and "preffered insurance specialists" i was introduced to Yilber and Artech by my brick mason. I have nothing but good things to say about Artech. Having never performed such a repair before I was very nervous. Yilber explained the roof process in detail, showed me very concerning factors and mistakes on the original roof. He offered me no pressure upgrades to enhance the replacement roof. Were they a little extra, sure, but upon research these products proved to be far superior to what i already had and could be added at not much additional cost. Materials delivered as promised. Start of project delayed 2 days due to weather and was kept informed the whole time. Crew arrived on time, very polite, very proffesional. Answered questions, explained what was happening. Work not completed in 1 day and was not expected to be either, however at end of day, crew cleaned up like they were finshed with the job, very suprising to me and my wife. Returned next day again on time, and completed the job. Yilber gave me a walk around and would not leave until I was completly satisfied. The Roof is phenomenal, gutters are straight, soffit secure. They have totally enhanced the curb appeal and value of my home, I just wish that i would have found them sooner. You can bet that they are on my speed dial in the event that they are needed again in the future. I would recommend them to anyone.

Prompt reply to my estimate request. Actually got on the roof and in the attic. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. However, we chose to go with another bid.

The contractor was very responsive to my questions and requests. He provided references and information as requested. He was accommodating when I requested modifications to the job and materials. The work took a bit longer than I expected (all day Saturday and Sunday). They completed the work Sunday night so I was unable to insect the final product until Monday morning. The garbage dumpster was delivered and picked up later than expected which was an inconvenience because it blocked my mailbox. Although the estimate indicated plywood replacement would be $45/sheet, I did not expect they would have to use 5 sheets which raised the final price $225. This was an out of pocket job so knowing upfront costs was critical. It's important to know that the $450 discount advertised on this website is NOT available because they feel their prices are competitive.

Yiber Velasco of ARTech was the first person to respond to all the on-line inquiries I made about roofing replacement, and he proceeded to set the standard from there. He was the most thorough when he came to provide an estimate--looking through the attic, pointing out his observations on the inside, using a camera to show me what the problems were from the outside. When I finished getting estimates from other companies, and called to confirm that I wanted ARTEch to do the job, they were able to fit me in that week, and we couldn't be happier--our new roof was finished just in time to protect us from the big snowstorm!! The crew arrived in a timely manner both days, and worked all day; our driveway was cleaner after they left than when they arrived! I was originally told that the gutters would need to be replaced the following week, and was pleasantly surprised when they were finished on Friday--their prediction that they had to get it done because the weather would be too bad turned out to be too true! Even our mail carrier told me, "Hey, your new roof looks great!"

Our 3 year old home had a leak. We called several roofers for inspection and estimate. Artech roofer came out, inspected and even took photos for me and suggested that these may still be covered by my home builder. They were, and I had photos and a professional inspection to insist the damage was caused by the builder's paint contractors ladder. Above and beyond, was very happy.

This company was very responsive. My calls were answered or returned within 15 minutes. They were the only company (of five called for estimates) to check back with me showing an interest in doing the job. They arrived with their license and insurance information in hand and gave a detailed and thorough estimate with pictures. They were able to start the job within a week and arrived when they said they would to start work. They covered plants and decks with tarp before starting and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. Their crew was polite and worked very efficiently to get the job done. There was a crew manager on site throughout the process and especially at the end to check the final job and cleanup.

House looks great! It took about a month to get all the changes made, as the weather wasn't cooperating, but they were very good about calling us and letting us know what was going on. The new siding looks much better, and the roof practically pops! The new gutters are infinitely better. Before, when it rained the gutters would leak water for days (due to the sediment they were blocked with). Now, the roof is dry in hours.
