This company was amazing from start to finish. Paul Blackwood was the sales rep and was far more knowledgeable than his competitors, and his price was competitive. Cal Hannon's installation crew was prompt, they were exceptional workers, and as nice as any I've seen.

My experience going through the request-for-quotation was excellent. Chris House was very professional and very knowledgeable. Unlike some of his competition, he took the time to understand what I was looking for in this renovation and was instrumental in advising what window product-line and window options were the most bang for my buck. Chris really took to heart that a renovation big enough for me to invest my hard-earned savings deserves nothing less than to be done right the first time. My experience with Chris, coupled with AVI's excellent showroom, made choosing AVI a no-brainer. When it came time for the installation, the crew was friendly and hard-working. Most importantly, the crew's workmanship and carpentry skill was outstanding. All the bullet points I expected for quality work, they met or exceeded. Every window was fitted and leveled properly. Every opening was foam-sealed with the appropriate window-foam. All the trim miter cuts and butt joints were flush and tight. They even touched-up all the scuffs to the drywall around the opening, which was an much appreciated bonus. Unfortunately, their scheduling and logistics was appalling. The install crew was consistently late almost everyday, sometimes having to reschedule for the next day entirely. Even after repeated complaints to their home office, the problem persisted. A 5-day job ended up turning into a grueling 3-week ordeal. In the end, I tolerated their disappointing time-management because of the caliber of their work. I figured what's an extra week or two next to a lifetime of quality work? If only the install crew had been better with time-management, it would have been a great experience.
Description of Work: Renovation of all of my home's windows. Scope-of-work included replacement of QTY(23) existing windows with Marvin Integrity full-frame windows with new interior and exterior mill-work on each window.

Terrible experience We thought that we would go with a high end window/door provider to get a good product and solid service. The opposite happened. • Sales rep (Josh) had very little knowledge of the product; we had to ask for several features that should have been offered but were not. We learned about them by reading the AVI provided material. Not sure why he would not have known about those features. • Initial recommendation on style was less than ideal. Senior sales rep (Tom) stepped in to redesign which ended up working well. We had to push back on the design though, had we not done that, the doors would have looked awkward. • After ordering (i.e. paying part of the bill), it was impossible to get a call back. The only call I ever got was to collect more funds. • First installation: team showed up and said that the door was completely wrong and did not fit the opening. Turns out the crew looked at the wrong opening! Door was fine; this caused a delay in the project because we had to reschedule installation. • Several more installation calls and delays due to other smaller mishaps. • One of the doors did not aligned and did not work well. After several service calls, I was told that I should have never ordered the door (without multi-point lock system) because it is not a good product and the door would therefore never align. Doors are from Marvin, which are great with a multi-point system but apparently do not work without it. Feels like AVI should not sell a product that they do not endorse. Call me crazy… • Again, Josh told me he would get back to me…still waiting. Sales rep never came out again to take a look to see what might have gone wrong. This was a sizeable order and I would have expected better customer service along the way. • After six months, I finally realized that we will have to live with an expensive door that is not flush and looks cheap. I made the final payment. • Last conversation…Josh told me he would schedule another service call…still waiting. • I would buy Marvin doors again, but never through AVI.

Went wonderfully well...salesmen Chris House (Windows) and Mark Galey (Solatubes) were a joy and pleasure to work with. Both were personable and knew the business and answered all my questions. I now have two wonderful Solatubes that bring much needed light to my Great Room and hall bathroom and also 12 wonderful Marvin Windows that are easy to clean and will provide years of draft-free visibility to outside. I totally recommend this company!! [Removed member name]

Very professional from start to finish. Everything delivered on time or even earlier than they initially said. I love all the windows and are extremely pleased with the quality! My contractor, who built my extension, had the windows installed himself so nothing was installed by Architectural Visions Inc. (AVI). Almost a year later I had a little bit of water in my new room, after the worst rain storm of the century. I thought it was one of the large windows that was leaking. I called AVI and they came immediately and said they would replace the window even though there was no sign of any water at the time and they never had a problem with a window before. They ordered the new floor to ceiling window and Scott Wright came to replace it when he realized that the water had nothing to do with the window. The company who put up the siding had not caulked it properly so it was a wide gap in the outside wall where water was raining in. Scott Wright spend an hour caulking and fixing it even though the problem was not the window. After almost a year with lots of different workmen to build my extension it is a pleasure to have been working with Architectural Visions Inc. and learn that there are very professional companies out there who take pride in their work and stand behind their products. I can't give them a higher recommendation. I know who to use next time I'll need windows and doors!

Installation went very well. Installers were friendly, hard working and very professional. They arrived at the scheduled time and when the job was completed they cleaned the work area up. I will gladly recommend AVI to others. I also will likely use their services again.

Company sent a salesman who, along with a and quot;traineeand quot; (seemed more professional and knowledgeable) provided me a quote for 29 windows and 1 entry door. The first meeting took two hours where the salesman continually tried to prep me for the eventual sticker shock knowing his pricing was not going to be competitive. It felt like he was talking down to me, that I wouldn't know the difference between quality and quantity type of products. He then also spoke about a competitor, who was also his previous employer and made a joking reference that they have overpriced products and have been comfortable giving that to their customers for years.......did I mention that he was a former salesman for that company, and worked there for years? Thus he was very comfortable with mistreating his clients. He scheduled a second meeting 3 days later to give me the quote. I told him he didn't need to do that, he could send it to me electronically. Their office not being nearby, I didn't want him to waste the time and energy, nor waste my time just to deliver the quote....but he insisted stating company policy. He called back 2 days later, told me the quote was ready, and that he had to cancel our meeting because of a conflict. He rescheduled for the next available business day, and was almost an hour late to hand me the quote. The quote was incomplete, and did not include the entry door. As a courtesy, I called the company to notify them I had chosen a different company. They were polite and professional, asked me why and I told the receptionist. She asked if I minded having the management/owner call me. I said I did not mind, he promptly called me back, and we had a very nice conversation, very courteous and professional. He apologized for the experience I had with his company and appreciated my comments. After the call, I at least felt like he listened and will try to make it better for the next customer. He was the reason I gave the a and quot;Cand quot; for professionalism instead of a and quot;D or Fand quot;

Response from Architectural Visions Inc
AVI regrets that we were unable to satisfy this Angie’s List member. Our company’s mission is to provide all customer’s with the very best experience, as demonstrated by our “A” rating on Angie’s List and “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau. Our salesmen are trained to educate customers about the quality of Marvin windows and doors, explaining the benefits in a clear and concise manner. Many factors including quantity, degree of installation, and options selected can affect the cost of a project. We did reach out to this individual, and unfortunately he decided to proceed with another company, but we appreciate the consideration.

Basically everything happen quickly. I called AVI and they sent out Tom Zakucia who spent all the time I needed to understand and select the appropiate products for our house. Tom provided options, brought sample windows and explained how the windows are made and what to expect as far as any needed service to install and adjust them. The only part that takes a bit of time is waiting for the windows to be made. The installation and tweeking happens quickly and professionally.
Description of Work: AVI does excellent work. We had 6 windows installed and could not be happier with the process and the product!

After waiting so long to upgrade from the old doors our expectations were high. I'm not sure we could be more pleased. The doors arrived within the timeframe expected and the instlallation was completed in a day and a half. I really didn't think they could do it in such a short time. To me this was a large job. Each door opening was over 10 feet long and 10 feet high. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE INSTALLATION CREW. They were fabulous. At one point when I discovered the doors were installed on the wrong sides (my fault) and needed to be switched, without a word they proceeded to swap them. They cleaned up about every 30 minutes and kept dust down to a minimum. They were very polite and focused on ensuring I was pleased. I don't remember the name of the installation crew but AV has it in their records. If you choose Marvin doors make sure you request them. The doors do need some adjustments on the locks. They work well but not as smoothly as they should. AV offered to send out a technician but I haven't had time to schedule them.
Description of Work: We had two sets of aluminum sliding glass doors in our living room. They looked terrible and because they were at least 25 years old and single paned they did not insulate well. We had looked at several of the major brands and while they may have been worth it they were way outside of our budget. Someone suggested we try Marvin windows and we called Architectural Visions. Tom was great giving us many options. He was also frank about what we did and didn't need. His quote came in within our budget so we decided to add a slider for our bedroom.
