Description of Work: The owner of the company stated that if he would put a dehumidifier in the crawl space of my home, it would reduce my electricity bill, musty smell and mold. He installed a dehumidifier system, removed debris and encapsulate the crawl space with 6 mil plastic sheets. He removed my crawl space insulation. He stated that I would not need it because the crawl space would be totally encapsulated. He had to be called back three times, because he forgot to do a part of the home. The musty smell never went away. My electricity bill increased. I had the local energy company come out and do an assessment with the dehumidifier running. My electricity bill increased by 10 cents per hour, $72.00 a month. The local energy company stated the dehumidifier would never work because he did not encapsulated the crawl space. The dehumidifier never shuts off. The energy company highly recommended to get insulation under the crawl space and remove the dehumidifier. They described this as a scam. I tried to called the company back and they will not answer my calls. There is no street address for the company or the one in Albany, Ga. WARNING - stay away from this company.

Description of Work: I have a 1944 home that smelled musty. Michael Murphy came to my house and stated he would install a southern climate dehumidifier system to include debris removal from crawlspace, replace opening door to crawlspace, encapsulate entire crawlspace, install 6 mil plastic fiber reinforce. He would removed my insulation. He stated that I did not have to replace my insulation because the space would be totally encapsulated. He stated this would reduce my electric bill and remove the musty smell in the home. The smell did not go away. So I went under the crawlspace and saw that he did not even finish the job. He came back and patch some places but did not complete the job. He had to come back 3 times to cover up spots that he missed. My electricity bill went up and the smell never went away. My floors dried up and caused my home walls to crack. My local energy company came out and did a meter check with the dehumidifier on and off. Running the dehumidifier cost $72.00 a month. The assessment stated that the dehumidifier would never work because the place is not totally encapsulated. They highly recommended to get insulation in the crawl space, remove the dehumidifier immediately. I called Michael Murphy to come get the dehumidifier. Never heard from him again. He is trying to work the Mobile Al area now. I called his partner in Albany, Ga and no response. Neither of them have a street address. My local energy company stated this is a scam.
