I am on a yearly maintenance program and I pay for it annually. I think they are fair. If I give them a call about anything they are friendly and professional. If I have any questions, they have been quick with a response. I have more weeds in the summer time than I think I should have. I've used them for probably four years now.

Grassroots is fine. Nothing bad to say, but nothing stellar.

They experience was natural they left a mess on the lawn but that is the nature of lawn aeration. They came when they said they would.

Have used Grassroots for 4 years. Well pleased. If your lawn is in bad shape it will take more than one season to see best results.

We suspected we were being charged for service that we never received. My wife was home on one particular occasion that service was provided and never saw anyone enter the back yard. The dogs never barked (these are indoor dogs - Chihuahuas) as they would if someone were in the yard since the very large windows make it easy to see out into the back from any vantage point. Our suspicions began when we asked for fungus treatment for dollar spots throughout the yard. The rep said we didn't need it and suggested we just let time fix it. The spots got larger and took over more of the yard as the weeks went by. A second call was placed and they came out and only treated the front (we believe). The front yard got better but the back yard never did. On another occasion the receipt they leave on the door said they put down granules but we saw no evidence in the back yard. We could never prove without doubt that we were getting ripped off but the suspicions were enough to cancel service. We now have a new lawn service and surveillance cameras to avoid the mistrust.

Had the company for years doing my lawn service. They decided to go up on their price and used the excuse "their vendors raised their prices." But, I said last time you said you raised the price was due to "gas prices." And now the gas prices are lower. But, when you look at what they are charging for and spending no more than 20 minutes on your lawn it becomes surprising. Josh the owner said he would call me back (and sounded as if he really cared) and referred me to his brother and his brother is cheaper and does my area. I had to call his brother 3 times and he said he does not do my area. Josh had told me we will find something to work out. Then I called Josh and even sent a text and no response. Pretty sad. But, the business has gone down in the past couple of years. None of my neighbors renewed with them either. For years they were great. Asked Josh when I did speak to him to be honest and just tell me the truth if they wanted my business. I said you sent me a renewal and now when I ask for the price it's $20 more than the renewal you sent me in the mail. So prices went up again since December. Then I had a man come out to give me an estimate on replacing the bushes in my front yard. They had replaced some of them before. But, they did not replace them with the exact same bush - so I was going to replace the remainder with the same. Wanted an estimate and the young man who gave me the service call was to get back tome within a week. Two weeks went by and I called and asked about the estimate. The young man who did the service call is now out with sick emergency. So sorry to hear about the sick person, but I would believe somebody would pick up the information and continue. So when asked about the estimate and who handles his stuff now (nobody knows when this employee will be back to work) I still have no answer.

They did spray what was needed on the front lawn however they were suppose to have done the backyard as well. No one ever came out to do an estimate for the backyard and they never did the aeration either for the front yard as they suggested. When I called about this the woman saw where it was ordered and that nothing ever happened. She told me she would find out about it then hung up. I never heard back until I called them again at 1600 hours someone else answered and I explained the situation. He gave me the run around so I just asked to transfer me to someone so that I could cancel my service.That person transferred me to someone that was rude and confirmed he was the one I talked to over a month ago. I explained the information again and he just interrupted me and said thank you and hung up.

I am not happy with their service. The fertilization was good, but as far as lawn care, they were not good. They charged $160 a month, which was high.

Our initial impressions were very good. We had purchased a home with a lawn and landscape that was neglected by the prior owner. We hired Grass Roots to help get the lawn under control, which started in the spring of this year. Overall I would say they did a fair job. The lawn is significantly improved, and while we still have a crab grass issue I would have continued with them based on results so far (and just how poor the starting point was). We had also found out they did landscape work and had hired them to pull old shrubs, cut beds, resod one section, etc. Their work here was excellent both in price and product. Based on the above we had engaged them to do a renovation of our backyard. This was just weeds and we wanted to have it killed off and reseeded. This is where things went downhill. I had a conversation with them on timing and noted we were having a backyard fence installed, and once we had the fence installed we would then engage them. No problem. However, during the August treatment when our service tech left the invoices on the door we had an extra one that noted he had sprayed Roundup. I did not think anything of it at the time as we did not see where he did it (and my wife was mowing the backyard at the time he was doing the treatment). The next week I received a call indicating they were ready to do the reseeding. I then noted my prior conversation as well as asked when they were planning to kill off the yard. Imagine my surprise to hear that was already done! I looked at the backyard and it was full of healthy green weeds. I noted this and was told they certainly had sprayed. I then talked to my wife who took me to the end of our house where I saw the grass was dead and dying...clearly as the result of roundup. On 9/5, I called back and noted it looks like the tech made a mistake and sprayed the wrong part of our yard. They were very apologetic. I was told that a manager (Bobby) would call me back. I later received a call that same afternoon and noted that Bobby would actually just stop by the following day. No problem. Well, the next day I stayed home to meet with him, but he never showed. I did see the tech in the neighborhood (I live on a cul de sac street in an acreage development and my home office window looks out to the front). I watched him stop at my neighbor's house, and then actually drive back up the street, back all the way down the street, and leave. Late in the day I called the office and asked when Bobby was coming, only to then be told that Bobby actually was not coming, but sent the tech to check out my yard. I was then told that the tech actually indicated the dying grass was the result of "mower damage", not spraying. At that point I really lost my temper and demanded to speak with Bobby or a manager...no one was available. I reminded them their own invoice shows they sprayed Roundup, and we were there and know the tech did not spray the back. After a frustrating conversation I told them I wanted to immediately cancel my service as it was clear I could not trust the tech. A week later I received a very nice card from Josh, the owner. Basically looks handwritten, but probably a font. It had his cell and asked that I call him. I received it on the weekend and called Josh on 9/16 and left him a voicemail explaining the situation and asking for a call back. I also noted I have pictures I can send that document the dead side yard (which they claim is mower damage) contrasted to the beautifully mown front yard. To no surprise I have not heard a thing. No response. Frankly he would have been better never sending me a card as this is a much bigger customer service fail. I am still left with a side yard that was killed off by Grass Roots to deal with, but have engaged another service who will be doing the backyard renovation. I understand from talking to several neighbors they too are frustrated with this tech and are not getting responsiveness from Grass Roots. My advice is to avoid this company. I now am signed up with TruGreen. They are a bit more expensive, but from an ethics standpoint I can't go back to Grass Roots.

We like their service a lot. They're quick and efficient. They come and do their thing and they don't hassle you. They don't call you constantly and badger you to do more stuff.

Everyone at GrassRoots is extremely friendly and professional. If you ever request a re-treatment due to a persistant weed problem, they come and retreat in a prompt manner. When I decided to begin a pest control service, I didn't hesitate to go with grassroots over some other companies who only do pest control. They really treat their customers very well and I have never had a complaint about any of the services they provide.

Promises and then lousy care. We have had supervisors out, the owner out and have had tech out that then say it is a waste of time and money to do what the supervisor said. That it won't work. So nothing works and we will be down to Georgia clay with topsoil. The last supervisor who came out did not write anything down, but said, this can be taken care of in the spring or this can be done now, or this can be done in the fall. No improvements. My husband would be happy to speak to you.

They do a pretty good job with the lawn fertilization in the front yard with the Bermuda, but we had a lot of weeds in our new zoisia in the back yard plus the sod died in several places. They replaced it twice with new sod and even though we watered it like we were supposed to, it died, too. Some of it was almost solid weeds. They want us to wait until the spring to do anything to see how it greens up and then they said they will consider aerating and seeding the areas where the sod is not growing. Mike, the sales manager, usually cancels the appointments that he makes or he ends up sending someone else. We have not had a good experience with him over all. We are going to try them for one more year, and then, if the lawn does not look like it should by summer, we will change services.

Nice folks, enjoyed their service for sevral years. We did tire of telling them about the weeds in our flower beds, incompletely groomed shrubs, etc. which according to their representative, the weeds are taken care of by a "special" crew. Had they performed their services as they said and as I paid for (their price...I didn't negotiate), I would still be using them today. They are professional and curteous, but offer excuses as to why things did not get done. The one that didn't make sense is "we assigned a new crew to your property and there is a learning". I understand that but shouldn't that mean that it will take a larger crew or take the new crew longer to get the job done right? I am paying the same regardless of the crew's experience and I am paying for a result. We were also told by some of the crew members (who were always very polite and curteous) that the company doesn't give them the tools to do the job right - doesn't make sense. It seems that all of these services get sloppy and complacement after a while and need to be monitored and communicated with. What's funny is that that did an excellent job two weeks in a row after I informed of my intentions to terminate the contract. Shoudl never had come to that.

We have had them every week since April and have had a good experience so far. The lawn looks great and the weeding of the beds is ok. They aren't perfect but overall for the cost I am happy with them.

In late August, we called and had several estimates for getting our backyard done. We were already using Grassroots for our lawn fertilization and weed control, so we included them in our estimates. Mike came out and gave us an estimate. Our budget starting out was only going to be able to go up to $3500, so we were hesitant to have it done at all. Our back yard had turned into complete weeds this year due to another company putting down bad seed in the fall and spring of last year. We decided to go ahead and pay the extra to get it done. After another company suggested putting down Bermuda on the outside of our privacy fence so that it would match with our front yard, I called Mike and he came out and remeasured which lowered the price since Bermuda is cheaper. The final price was going to be around $3800 (with $100 coupon). The guys arrived to start the work on Sept. 19. They scraped the backyard and raked up the grass and weeds. On Sept. 22, they began laying the sod. Mike (a different Mike) who was doing the labor, told my husband that they would finish and roll the sod on Friday. We had to leave town unexpectedly and my husband got a call from Mike on Friday afternoon saying that they ran out of sod. He said that the owner and Mike (the sales rep) were out of town, but he would call us back if there was a problem. We never got a call back and arrived back home on Sept. 28 to find that 1/5 of the yard had not been finished and the rest of the yard had not been rolled. We had a message on our home phone from Mike (sales rep) that he had underestimated the amount of sod we needed by about 5 pallets. He said that he needed to talk to us about it. We were pretty mad that he had not called my husband on his cell phone as they did have his number. He came out two days later to talk to my husband about it. He said that he would get the new sod ordered and they would finish the job. He came back over the next week and left an invoice on our door saying that we owed an additional $1000. My husband called him and he came out again and said that the owner said that we would have to pay for the extra sod and the delivery cost. He quoted my husband $400.00 on that visit. When I called the office to find out what was going on when I got back in town, the receptionist told me that it would be an additional $520 or they would not finish the job. I spoke to the owner, Josh, and he was very customer service focused. We were able to reach an agreement that they would finish job for an additional $200. He was very apologetic. I found out by talking to him that even though Mike (sales rep) assured my husband several times that we were his top priority and getting our yard completed was first on his list, he had not even ordered the new sod and it had been two weeks since we had gotten back. The new sod was delivered shortly after my conversation with Josh and they ran out of sod again (this was after Josh had come to our house to see what was still needed to complete the job). The other Mike called my husband and told him that they ran out again. He asked if they could put Bermuda where they ran out of the Zoysia. My husband reluctantly agreed just wanting to get it done. I hope that our back yard doesn't look patchy due to the different grasses when spring time rolls around. Mike (sales rep) told us that he has never mis-measured a yard before ours. I find that surprising considering he was off by so much. We will continue to use them for our grass treatment so that if something goes wrong with the zoysia, we can get them to replace it. I rated punctuality low because Mike made appts. with us a few times and didn't call or show up for a couple of those appts. I had to call him.

I contacted this company to get a quote to treat my lawn. I was working nearly 2 weeks out and wanted to meet Sept 2, as I was taking the day off and I have to be home to show the back yard as it is locked inside a 6' fence. They never set up the meeting to give the qujote. I guess the economy is not bad at all.

I have a problematic lawn, but they do a great job of keeping it in good shape. They've been my lawn maintenance company for a few years now, and they always provide a great service. If I ever have any issues with their service, it's never a hassle getting in touch with a manager or having them come out to inspect the lawn itself.

Terrible! We had service from April until now...cancelled but have to keep using them until September. I think they send a different crew everytime or something because I keep telling them our property boundries and it keeps getting messed up. They mow less of our yard each time and the last time left big missed places and they edge less of our yard than they mow everytime. They use a riding lawn mower and our yard is fairly small...they obviously don't check to see if they missed any spots as the rush at the speed of light to get it done. They are supposed to trim our bushes and continously mess up the one between us and our neighbors...only trimming half of it so it looks ridiculous even though I've told them that the other side is OUR responsibility. One week they didn't show up because we had pop up showers. They just didn't mow that week at all...didn't try to make it up in the next couple of days so our yard went 2 weeks in the sping with no mow. I had called and asked them to call me if no one was coming out by the following Monday and I never heard from them. We don't have a back yard but they are supposed to keep the trail behind the house weed eated and blow off our back decks...that happened maybe the first couple times they mowed and hasn't since. They also are supposed to weed our gardens which I wasn't aware meant spraying poision on the weeds and leaving them to die...they killed 2 dahlias because they thought they were weeds. This last time they cut the top off of a smaller tree that was behind our hedges without asking if we wanted them to or not...it's very random and looks awful now. I also NEVER get a call back when I have an issue. Terrible Service!

The service provided was an absolute train wreck. The salesman who came to our home to quote a complete monthly service, Allan, was very kind and assured me the company would take great care in maintaining our lawn. First week- Application of weed killing to lawn was suppose to have been done. Yard in bad shape due to weeds. Received a call from inside sales woman stating the application would not be done. She was unwilling to listen to my request and would not accept my request. Finally after me raising my voice to her, she agreed to have the chemical application be done first. A very nice gentleman came out and put the application down. No sooner did he leave, but the mowing team arrived! They mowed the lawn and killed the application as it did not have time to penetrate into the lawn. At this point I was furious and asked to speak to the owner of the company. I left a message for him and he never returned my call. Stupidly, I decided to try them one more time. I began speaking to the inside supervisor of Customer Service who was indeed very good. However, I asked them not to trim my shrubs as I was going to have another contractor come in and do this. Due to lack of communication a gentleman came in not speaking English and partially killed 2 shrubs, and shaved off the top of another shrub leaving the twigs and branches showing. The bush which was once about 5 feet high is now 3 feet high and looks terrible. O.K. now, my shrubs look terrible and killed in 2 spots, the company never came back to put another weed killing application on my lawn after mowing the lawn within an hour and I am out $326.66. I spoke to the owner and never once did he ask "What the company do to rectify the problems of give me a refund." I am not a cheap person, but come on, is there not any accountability. Buyer beware! Keep these mowers and shrub team out of your yard! Ii had to have another company come in and rectify the mess that was created by this company.

Excellent - they continue to do a great job. The applications are timely and always include a courtesy phone call the day before an application is scheduled so we can make arrangements with our pets.

I like their responsiveness - I can ask them any question about my lawn and they would be able to call me back with the information. They always call me when I am available. They are always willing to explain things to me.

The people at Grass Roots were very professional. This company was very realistic about the length of time it would take to improve our lawn. They gave us a good price for their services also. I would recommend them to others.
