G & E Tile/Construction

According to Angie's list he services all areas except Hall County. This is not true, we live in Lilburn and he claimed they don't service our area. Maybe the areas you service should be updated.

Steve is the man. We have been renovating this house for a year and he is by far the best contractor we have hired. He worked on our house with great care and it felt like he was working on our house as if it were his own. With any large project there are unforeseen problems, but Steve handled these unflappably and with a profound professionalism. It was clear that he wasn't just concerned with an excellent result on the surface. He wanted the job done correctly at each step. We also needed additional services, and the associates he recommended were excellent and to a similar standard. It's comforting that he keeps good company.

Contractor advised that he was not accepting bids now. We would advise Angie's List customers to avoid contractors who are on this list who are not willing to accept bids or do any work for two months.

I called for an estimate and Steve came out promptly to provide it. Work started about 2 weeks later and was completed within 2 weeks. The shower looks great!

They came exactly at the time they said they would be here, did the job professionally and cleaned up before they left and all the work was completed within the time they said it would take! What a wonderful contractor!

They were very good. They did a nice job. They got the job done when they said they will do it in a timely fashion. I was pleased with the results.

The owner of the company was very professional and accommodated my time frame. The installers work directly for him and they were very meticulous about the finished product. I would highly recommend this company, this is a family business, and they do what they say they will. They call if they are running behind and also before they arrive. Yes I would use them again!

These guys were great. Steve, my main point of contact for the job, was a consummate professional throughout the entire process. From the early stages of consultation, to sending the invoice after the job was complete, he regularly communicated with me about the progress of appointments, the job itself, and follow-up. His two technicians arrived on time both days, and immediately went to work. They were respectful of their surroundings, ensuring not to disturb or dirty other rooms in the house. They were polite and professional, communicated what they were doing and what they needed to do, but most of all - were very easy to work with.

I found this company on Angie's list and read some good reviews. They are close to my west cobb neighborhood so I a game them a call the weekend before Thanksgiving and left a message. I finally received a call back message on Dec 2nd, over a week later. I returned from my business trip on Dec 7th and called them again. Left another detailed message as well as my home and cell numbers... still no return call (Dec. 16th). Lack of responsiveness is not a quality I would look for in a contractor. Lots of other companies out there that actually return phone calls.

Steve did a great job. Not only was the tile and pattern executed perfectly, but he had to overcome some very uneven walls and defective subflooring which he handled effectively. The end result was perfect and as planned, on time, and on budget. Once Steve makes a commitment, you can count on the outcome being completed to your satisfaction. He also communicates better than most contractors I have dealt with in the past which is very helpful. Overall, I plan to use G&E for all my tile needs in the future.

They did a very detailed, excellent, timely, no problems. It was a high quality quote. Great.

They were fantastic. They were really great to work with. They were a local company and we dealt mostly with Steve. They handled any problems that came up. The bathroom remodel turned out beautiful and we are very pleased with their service.

They really did a good job. They also sub-contracted us to Glassworks, and they came out and framed a mirror for us, which i really liked. After they finished the mirror i noticed a bunch of streaks in it. They told me that it was from the old adhesive on the old mirror. They wanted me to pay for half of what it would cost to fix it, and i said i dont think it's my responsibility, and the mirrior is ruined. In the end , between both companies, they ended up paying for everything to replace the mirror, so both companies really did a great job for us. Im not saying they were cheap, but they were reasonable. They were here when they said they were going to be. I would use them again.

We just loved them! From their design suggestions to them always being on time; they did exactly what they said they would do and they were everything you could want in a designer! They really went above and beyond.

We are in the process of remodeling the bathroom and have choosen G&E Tile to do the work. The work has not begun yet. However, the owner, Steve, has been very helpful and is working with me on the project. So far, I am pleased with his services.

Great experience! Steve, Carlos and Edgar were professional and did excellent work. They always showed up on time, explained everything they were doing as they went along, and finished the project on time. Carlos would even text pictures of their progress through out the day! Their work was great and the prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend this group and will use them again if I need tile work done!

They did a fabulous job, had great ideas and were easy to work with. They were polite and very respectful of my home. I would highly recommend them.

We started a small project to renovate our downstairs half-bath. We installed bead-board, new vanity, new toilet and painted. But the original flooring looked terrible. We decided to have travertine tile installed to complete the renovation. And, we thought that since we were having tile installed in the half-bath, we may as well renovate the guest bathroom upstairs. We purchased travertine tile, base tile and trim pieces. We turned to Angie's List in search of tile installers. We found and selected G&E Tile because they were close to our home and they had excellent ratings and reviews on Angie's List. We called Steve and he made an appointment to look at what we wanted to do and promptly gave us a very reasonable proposal. I told him that I would remove the vanity, toilet, 1/4 round and old flooring downstairs and remove the vanity, toilet, old tub and molding upstairs. I needed a little time to install a new tub and valve for the tub/shower and some of the sheet rock. He scheduled to do the work in three weeks. Steve, his skilled tile setter and helper were ready to install as scheduled.. They did an outstanding job. They covered the stairs and carpet upstairs, cleaned up each day before they left and obviously took great pride in their work. We now have a beautiful travertine tile half-bath that completed our initial project and a beautiful guest bathroom upstairs. We are very satisfied with the results and will be having G&E Tile renovate our master bath. We were a little nervous about calling someone we had never used before, but Angie's List came through for us. Steve and his crew are professionals, prompt, honest and strive to satisfy their customers. Thank you G&E Tile.

Gave us a quote to remove the beginnings of what someone else started that was bad work and to do the complete job for us. They were completely professional, always on time and kept a very clean work site. Very responsive to questions and even brought up several suggestions to us that we ended up going with because they made more sense. I was thrilled with every bit of their performance and the end result is a beautiful new marble shower porcelain tile floor in my remodeled master bath. After calling several of the well advertised carpenters in our area, a friend suggested we contact G&E construction. The did some work for her finishing her basement. My fried was overjoyed with the work G&E did, so I gave them a call. Louie Kouvelas came buy and after about ten minutes of taking with my wife, we both knew Louie and team were the right people for the job. We wanted to integrate built in book cases with a media center but balance the appearance of both so that neither was too intrusive. Louie pulled out a piece of paper and started drawing the possibilities. He's really good at free-hand drawing!Louie told us our mantle was too high and the builder likely did that to fill in the space, he knew we wanted a TV above the mantle and suggested the lowest possible height while still staying within code... He was the first contractor to notice this and it was the first thing he saw! After this the ideas started flying. Some special cove casing here, a few plinth blocks and fluted casings there and we have a very beautiful custom book case...and it turned out better than we expected. Very highly recommended.

Steve and his crew did a fantastic job! After meeting Steve, I knew he was the one for my project - he was professional, straight forward, had great attention to design and detail, and very genuine. His price was competitive with other bids, he also offered to help me pick out the tile and added great design touches throughout his work. When he and his crew started the demolition in the kitchen, it turned out the kitchen floor had more water damage than could have been anticipated before tearing up the existing floor. Steve recommended what needed to be done to ensure the floor was repaired properly and charged a fair price for the additional work. For the tile, he did an offset brick pattern and the transition between the new tile floor and the existing floors for both door ways is perfect. It is great to have a repaired floor that is now upgraded in design and materials too. Steve's design for the bathroom is wonderful - it feels like a whole new place. The vinyl floor was replaced with tile and has a great design in the middle of the floor. The tub tile surround was replaced and ties to the floor design very well. The shower carries forward the design too, with a perfect inset shelf and frameless glass door. Steve also increased the size of the shower which added much needed space - no more bumping into the walls when I shower! All the faucets in the bathroom were replaced along with installing a new toilet. Steve's plumber Darrell did a great job with what turned out to be a couple of difficult faucets. Steve is the kind of guy you can do business with a handshake - just the kind of people I like to work with professionally and personally. It was a pleasure doing business with Steve and I would highly recommend him.

He was excellent as far as a quote goes. We are probably not going to use him because he is very expensive.

I am very pleased with the services provided by G&E TIle. Steve Kouvelas was professional at all times, he provided a detailed estimate to remodel our 1950s master bath including various options for us to choose from to fit our budget. We choose them for the work and they removed an old large poorly tiled enclosed shower, walls and vinyl floor. They repaired surprise water damaged framing, reframed a new shower enclosure and installed tile on the bathroom floor and tiled the shower, installed fixtures, frameless shower glass and painted the entire bathroom. Along the way the owner Steve Kouvelas kept us informed of the day to day schedule, provided suggestions on the layout and gave updates to any additional charges due hidden issues or additional work we requested. These additional charges were very reasonable. We will certainly use G & E Tile for future projects.

I found them on Angies List. They were very helpful in helping me to decide what I wanted them to do because they completely ripped them apart up to the ceiling and put in all new. The house was built in 1970, and he had a lot of good ideas. He kept me informed of the status of the work and when he would be here. The final payment was exactly what he quoted. I will use them in the future.
