the company called once-- not to see if they could make things right but to ask us to reconsider our review. I would have expected with the review that I gave that the owner of the company would have contacted me personally to see what they could do to have a satisified customer. Instead I was asked to change my review. Why would I do that when the sump pump pit still does not have a drop of water in it. If it is not going to fill with water and eject ground water why was I sold that. The sump **** is useless if it has not been used in a year. Also I will still need to use a dehumidifier to keep the humidity level down. I was told that would not be necessary. The reason we had this done in the first place was to be able to finish the basement--not sure if I will be able to do that. Please make sure you get other estimates and consultations before having the work done so you can make sure what you are having done is really necessary. And no Everdry I will not change my review of you!,,

Aaron called and confirmed our appointment for today and said that BOTH decision makers had to be there...so...we both left work early to make sure we were here for our 6:00pm appointment. 6:30 rolls around and I call the office. A man answered and said "um...yes, I see you are on the schedule". I guess being on the schedule, and actually having someone show up are not one in the same. No thanks...moving on.

We felt that the salesman/inspector used scare tactics: He did the little mold test - there is mold literally on most surfaces of the world, so any mold test would likely show positive; said that pieces of grout were out of the block walls due to water pressure (not found by other companies); claimed that dirt had washed out from under the basement slab (probably not true but they won't get a chance to find out); quoted the price as about $21,500 (we had a previous quote of about $3,500 but not as much work would be done); offered a "today only deal" of a 10% discount that would not be offered again, but strangely enough, a company rep called a couple of days later and found that they COULD reduce the price; finally, he claimed the yard needed to be dug down to the footing, a french drain installed, also not needed per both other estimates we got - all of which pushed the price up. He went on and on about how one wall had continuing water damage; that wall is not exposed to the weather and the discoloration on the blocks likely was from an extended, unnoticed bathroom leak years ago.Today we got a quote from another company for about half the price of EverDry and there will be twice as much done, less the outside french drain. We have always thought that that if the deal MUST be taken THAT DAY (pressure, pressure) it is a good time to back off. All in all, this company seems like a good one to avoid.

I noticed water on my carpet so I looked on Angie's List for a waterproof company. Well I found EverDry and my wife called. The person she spoke with at 7 PM ET was polite, BUT.......Advised my wife that both HOMEOWNERS MUST BE AT THE HOME. Please tell me why would both homeowners need to be here? The issue is the water not my marriage. I thought we called a WaterProofing Company and not marriage counseling. So EveryDry came out and did a estimate and discovered in my crawl space there was water. So the initial quote was $16,000.00. Well....that was very hard to digest and seemed a little TOO HIGH. Now....EverDry did REITERATE EverDry will NOT be the cheapest but they are the "Cadillac of Sump Pump Systems". Which is fine but I really didn't care about having the Cadillac of sump pumps. All I knew is I had water and needed it out. Well after noticing in 3 Day window on deposits here in Georgia, I called EverDry to cancel. Well EverDry readily came out to the home to renegotiate and came down to $11,000.00. With this price still was sitting well with me. I finally called the next day and cancelled for good. Seems more like spiking the job than providing a GOOD Service. Ironically a coworker that's from Ohio told me about EverDry tactics as well so I would say WORD OF MOUTH goes a long way.

Scheduled an appointment and they didn't show up, so they rescheduled for a different day. BUT after they didn't show up and were called, THEN they tell us that BOTH homeowners absolutely must be present for the estimate. Even worse was their excuse for insisting I take off work to be there with my spouse for the estimate---because "they are not allowed to go on someone's property for an inspection without ALL title owners present". Of course I realize what their angle is, but I'm really insulted that they think I'm not smart enough to know how ridiculous that excuse is, and the tone of voice that was used to explain it me (bless her heart!). I cancelled the second appointment and will look for another company that really wants my business.

I'm looking elsewhere...
Description of Work: I called Ever Dry to see if they could come out for an estimate. I have some water leaking into my basement and might need a French drain. They refused to schedule this without both my wife and I present, using the excuse, "that's how we keep our estimates free". When I said this was inconvenient for us and I would be there the person said if both of us weren't there they'd have to come back out and explain it twice. I assured her that I could make the decision and if they could make me happy with the estimate and explanation then that would be fine. She insisted they must have both spouses present. This is a classic sales high pressure sales technique and red flag for me that I was dealing with a bunch of shysters, and so I politely said, "sorry, I think I'll look elsewhere".

Outstanding!!! The work was completed before the projected completion date. Very professional work crew that showed up to the work site on time. On site supervisor was in constant contact to ensure that we were aware of what was going on. Clean up after the job was great as they removed all debris and went mopped the work site. The best part was at the end of the job, the forman walked me through each part of the project. He responded to all of my questions and made sure that I was comfortable with the work that was performed. He also reviewed the warranty and explained the service plan. Kudos!!!
Description of Work: Installed two inside sump pumps that cover three sides of the house that was below grade (Basement). Installed J - Trench drainage system around the outside of the house. Installed Kevlar wall stablizers along the basement wall to prevent future damage from external soil/water pressure. Installed EZ-Breathe system.

I can't say enough about a merchant who provides you with a simple guarantee and then gladly comes back again and again until his work is as perfect as he promised. A 32 year old ranch style home, on a hill with a partial basement and crawl space that has been flooding with every heavy rain year after year is a real challenge. Over a year after the first waterproofing, during a remodel, we discovered "hidden" water in the crawl space. The crew was there the next week to do a major rework and redesign of that area. When the reduced dampness still impacted our new wood floors six months later, the crew came immediately to further encapsulate the "dirt". All at no additional charge. I am enjoying my DRY "man cave" thanks to Everdry Waterproofing and the rest of our home is also comfortable and mold free.

EverrDry's bid was thousands and thousands of dollars above the second highest bid, so we had decided not to use them. To their credit, they called to follow up, saying they had identified ways they could lower the bid. The sent a second inspector out. (He was late, but it was raining.) For reasons that are unclear to me, they wanted to send out a third inspector before they made another bid. At this point I decided not to go any farther with them, because they either didn't have it together enough to get the bid done or they had a willful disregard for my time; in either case, it did not prompt confidence. They also insisted that my husband be present at all the meetings-- I am unmarried.

We signed the contract, but decided within the 3 day grace period to back out. We realized that our issue could be addressed without their entire system. Also after speaking with another waterproofer, became uncertain if the Everdry system was really the best. The sales guy was nice, but they do sell hard and continue to call and come back to discuss after we cancelled. They insisted that cancellation had to be done in person. But all they did was try to get us to change our minds. I am sure their system is probably fine, but we did an a la carte with a competitor for a fraction of the cost.

Response from EverDry Waterproofing
Since 1977 Everdry waterproofing has been committed to offering its customers the most comprehensive solutions available in its industry. Our integrity and reputation as the largest waterproofing company was built around this type of commitment. Over the last 36 years in business, Everdry has recognized that a alacarte approach rarely meets the customers expectations. When a foundation starts to show evidence of moisture penetration in one area, it is only a matter of time before the other parts of the foundation will follow. This simple concept often gets lost in translation when it is the price and not the scope of work that becomes the deciding factor.

Their price seemed really high for what they were talking about doing, but we were not educated in that line of work, so we said that we can't afford that. Then suddenly, he was talking about doing something else for less money. Then about a week later, I got a phone call from them and she said that they wanted to send a manager out there and they were prepared to offer us a deal, which really made me feel weird. The whole deal just seemed very strange and so, we declined them.

EverDry Waterproofing came in and quoted a price of $18,000 and then went down to $15,000 and finally went down to $12,000. They said they were going to send someone else out with a better price and they came in at $13,000. EverDry Waterproofing were not very upfront and not very good to deal with to be honest. The first salesman was just all about a sale, high pressure. They were trying to sell me stuff I didn't need and I felt like they were trying to rip me off. What really was deceptive and is bad for people who aren't use to negotiations is rather than focus on what it costs they focused on what I wanted to pay per month which is the classic used car salesman tactic. They tried to use a bait and switch sales tactic when it came to financing. A sleazy salesman basically. They were a horrible company to deal with. I don't know about the quality of work but even if they have a good product I wouldn't buy it because I don't trust their salesmen. What really bothered me was that they didn't want to put in a membrane that goes from the ground to the ceiling so that it catches any moisture leaking in through the walls so I didn't have confidence in EverDry Waterproofing.

EverDry did a very good job on my basement. They installed a French drain around the entire perimeter of my basement, inside the house. Also put French drains around the outside of the house to catch any water running toward the house near the surface of the ground and route that water away. Very professional, cleaned up after themselves, came when promised, finished on time. All-in-all, a good job and a good experience. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Since EverDry waterproofed my basement, I have been able to carpet the floor and create a nice game room and a play area for the grandchildren. I would recommend EverDry to anyone with a wet basement.

All of the Everdry personnel from the sales team to the workers were very prompt, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. The system works well and you can see the pump discharging water away from the house when it rains. They have always been willing to come to my home and answer any questions I may have. I was allowed to setup a 5 year period to pay off the cost interest free. I also opted for the continued warrantee for $50 / year that will cover the cost of any necessary repairs to the waterproofing job, or repair or replacement of equipment that may fail. This warranty continues as long as the annual fee is paid and goes with the house if sold. Their phone number is: 678-741-2900 Their website is: www.everdryatlanta.com EverDry specializes in basement waterproofing, crawlspace waterproofing, and foundation repair.
Description of Work: Everdry dug and installed a new french drain with a J seal around the outside of my home. Then they cut out an approximate 18 inch width of concrete from the slab along the front and side walls of my basement where a significant leak was appearing in my basement, and where any future leak could possibly occur. They installed some weep holes along the bottom of the concrete block wall below the top of the basement slab floor. Then they installed a french drain below the basement floor along the bottom of the concrete block wall that was leaking. They routed the drain into a large plastic tank in the corner of the basement that housed a primary AC powered pump and a battery backup pump powered by two auto batteries and an automatic charger. The french drain was then concreted over very neatly and level. A safety shield was inserted between the block wall and the filled in slab so that any moisture that may form on the wall above the slab would be routed down below the slab to the french drain.

The service was great. We decided to finish off some rooms in our basement, converting a storage room into usable space. We really didn't consider a previously repaired crack in the foundation to be an issue. But after the room was refinished we noticed a water problem behind some of the sheet rock, our contractor was not qualified to repair the foundation and didn't want to get involved. Ever Dry assessed the problem, even dug away the dirt from the outside of the house and repaired the crack from both the outside as well as the inside. It was a tremendous piece of mind knowing the wall is properly repaired and won't leak.
Description of Work: My basement had a vertical crack in the foundation running up one wall. When it would rain, water would seep through the crack and into the basement. Ever Dry repaired the crack from both sides of the foundation - not just from the inside. The crack was sealed and has not leaked in over 6 months! Just awesome!!

The work was completed in a timely manner with the breath easy being installed first. The multi-step system was installed as a preventive measure. The work was completed on time in approximately 3 days. For the exterior system a trench was dug around our home around the foundation wall. The foundation was sealed and water proofed with an exterior drainage system installed. The inside system involved placing a subfloor drainage system. The system is working fine. I decided to write this review because of all the rain we have received in the Atlanta area this spring and summer. We have been under several flood watches and warning in our area and the Everdry system has provided our family with peace of mind.

When the salesman arrived he immediately started into a fast paced speech. He did more talking than looking at the areas we kept trying to show him. My husband is a commercial contractor and has built millions of square feet of warehouses in the Atlanta area. My husband quietly took it all in and he questioned the wrong information given by the salesman who barely let him speak. It all seemed very scripted. Finally, My husband had enough and nicely asked the salesman to send us a quote and he'd look it over and decide what we would do. The salesman said he can't send a quote, that's not how Ever-dry does it. He said we both had to go upstairs and he would explain the 3 ways he could fix our problem. My husband bowed out and i said I'd listen. The Ever-dry guy didn't like that and was very flustered but said he'd do it anyway. He showed me a brochure of the three things they do. i asked which was the most expensive and he said he couldn't tell me that! I had to pick which one we would have them doing and then he could discuss only that price. I told him the price would probably determine which choice we would pick. Then he said he would have to go out to his car (it was 8:00 PM) and call the office to see if he was allowed to give us a quote on more than one solution. He came back and said his boss told him to leave. He said he told the boss we were too nice to do that to us so he was going to break the rules for us. Needless to say, we would not have used them at any price.
Description of Work: The provider didn't do any work for us. We called them to look at 3 places in our basement where water was coming into the concrete block. Both my husband and myself were required to be there or Ever-Dry said they wouldn't come out. . They asked lots of unrelated questions when I called for the appointment and I said more than once, "why do you need to know that?"
