I shopped for lightning protection for years in Jacksonville, calling yellow pages ads to no avail. One guy even talked me OUT of installing lightning rods, even though he was listed in the Yellow Pages under lightning protection. Then my house was struck the next year, blowing a hole through the roof!!! I was so mad! Thankfully I found Lightning Defense through HomeAdvisor, and he is a pro. Very responsive, knowledgeable, and great service! Thanks HomeAdvisor and Lightning Defense. Very happy with everything. Just wish I used you earlier instead of the yellow pages.

This service provider is one of the VERY BEST contractors I have ever engaged anywhere, anytime. Mr. John Sherlock bent over backwards to meet my changed [forward] roofing project. He was contacted late in the day and the next day was here to take down my lightning arrestor system to enable the roofing job to begin. After the roofing was finished, he was out the next morning to reinstall the lightning protection system before a strong storm system moved in. He is a TRUE professional with more than 40 years in the business. He has a long-term outstanding reputation for great service and professional work -- and he sure lived up to it in his work for us. They were very efficient: Work on two houses was completed in a day and a half.

We hired Lightning Defense to install lightning rods on our home after a friend lost his home to a fire caused by lightning. Lightning defense was extremely knowledgeable, and helped dispel myths regarding lightning rods (such as lightning rods attract lightning). Communication was great throughout, and the job was completed quickly and professionally. The rods are barely visible from the street, and look quite nice. I would highly recommend researching lightning rods, and consider Lightning Defense for the job. I feel much more secure knowing that my home has an added layer of protection, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company for the job.

On tlme, very pleasant,EXPLAINED every detail of installation and especially liked when John said if we ever replace our roof please let him know,as LD will come and remove rods and then put them back free of charge,because some roofers just cover over the bases,AND no money till we were satisfied,THAT is only The kind of contractors I have ever hired. We were impressed with their knowledge and experience. They are a local family business and have been installing lightening protection for many years. John and his wife were very courteous, explained everything thoroughly, and did an excellent job. The work was completed in about 3.5 hours and the price seemed fair. They use UL listed materials and installed according to Lightening protection standards.

John explained everything to me about the job to be done. He was very prompt in arriving, completed the job in a few hours and walked around the house with me to show and explain the finished project. He was very professional and his prices were quite reasonable. This is a very reputable business.

Their work was as good as or better than advertised. They were on time and worked very efficiently. All of my questions were answered and provided a lightning protection education that supported my pre-project research. The finished copper installation passed the eye appeal test when compared to near by installations by others. Well done!
