He was pleasant and thorough, explaining what is done when a roof is replaced and his business theory: essentially, to be proud of the work his company has done. I had done some research about roofing materials, and understood when he told me he automatically uses the architectural shingle instead of the 3-tab shingle without the price increase typically charged by other companies. (The architectural shingle is thicker and, therefore, sturdier than the 3-tab shingle.) His men arrived as scheduled, and the foreman was open and friendly. After much of the old roof had been removed, I realized they were including a portion I had not agreed to have done, as it could wait another 10 years or so to be replaced. When I told the foreman Byron this, he told me it would be included with no extra charge, as it was their mistake. I especially appreciated that this was handled without any appearance of resentment, whining, blame or attempt to negotiate a higher price on the part of Winter Park Roofing. In fact, it was done with a smile. Cleanup was excellent, but when James performed his follow-up inspection, he removed a (very) few bits of trash he didn't want left behind. The warranties provided by Winter Park Roofing are 10 years on workmanship (5 years longer than typical), and the CertainTeed shingle has a limited lifetime warranty. There is one additional issue, and that is about the owner of WP Roofing, James. He is a man who is doing what he loves. He has created a company that provides reliable, excellent quality work at a reasonable price. He enjoys communicating with his customers and makes every effort to clarify his offering and product. It was no surprise to me therefore that his crew reflected this attitude.

We had our roof repaired about 4 or 5 times in the past and had to keep getting it repaired and we made it through a rainy season with no leaks. The price was very reasonable. They actually fixed another little problem area for free because they said they were up there anyway. They were excellent. I would use them again in seconds. Their customer service is excellent. The owner of the company came out and gave the estimate. When I asked him if that was an approximate, he said no, that it what it is going to cost when we are done. He guaranteed that there wasn't going to be any little hidden costs involved. It was great. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again. I am completely satisfied.

+ -1 moreThis lady I know is not a member of Angie's List but wanted me to provide her with a list of roofing companies to come out and inspect her roof. She had a leak somewhere on her roof that either needed to be fixed. The roof was getting older so she had expected the roof might need to be replaced. I gave her a list of roofing contractors to contact. She called three companies from the list, but two of them never returned her call. Winter Park Roofing was the only one she contacted who she was able to talk to and schedule an appointment to give an estimate for repair of her leaky roof or full replacement. Winter Park Roofing came out to inspect the roof on a Saturday. The gentleman who came out was on time and inspected the roof. Instead of offering full roof replacement, the gentleman suggested that a small area on the roof needed to be repaired. The gentleman was kind enough to fix a small area where the leak was occurring without any charge for the repair. That in itself says a lot about the company! She highly recommends Winter Park Roofing and when the time comes to replace her roof, she plans to contact Winter Park Roofing. She want to make sure I posted this on Angie's List.

+ -1 moreWe chose to use them as their estimate was slightly less that the two other roofing companies that quoted us and James, who gave the quote was very knowledgable and professional. The process was easy from start to finish. James worked around my schedule any time we had to meet in person, the crew arrived on the date & time agreed to start the job and kept me informed as the job progressed. The whole crew was professional and worked diligently to get the job done as quickly as possible. Even with a slight weather delay, the job was done in 2 and 1/4 days. The job site was cleaned up every afternoon and was thoroughly cleaned when the whole job was complete. Overall a great experience!

Description of Work: I called Winter Park roofing for a problem I was having with leaks during the last storm we had. As I have a mobile home in a park, most roofers/handyman does not wish to be bothered. James answered the phone and stated he would come out the next day during my lunch. Came, gave me what the damage was, just a few places around a stove pipe and corner that needed to have some strong sealant added and fixed it right then and there. The price was amazing, and I now know who to call next time I have an issue with my mobile home roof. I will be telling my friends about this company.

We experienced a few issues with the skylights still leaking and WPR responded with one phone call to have our issues resolved. The price was by a good amount the best, and it was all-inclusive, whereas other estimates would have had extra charges depending on how much wood they needed to replace, which was a lot. They worked from sunrise to sunset, but were as quiet and neat as can be for a roof redo. They installed the skylight and fans for no extra labor charge, even picked up the fans and just added them to the bill and gave us the receipts. No deposit required, we paid in full upon completion. Highly recommend Winter Park Roofing.

+ -1 morenew shingles were brought out on a Friday and loaded onto roof. work commenced the following Wed removing old shingles. It took the next two days to lay paper and new architechitural shingles. Several days later the owner of the company came out and did the wind mitigation report which was included in the fee charged. My only complaint was that the dumpster holding the old shingles and trash was left over the weekend. The roofers put in long days in very hot weather to get the job done. The new roof looks so nice.

Description of Work: I had a leak in my family room and they came out and fixed the area around the chimmey. They also fixed the area on my porch roof that was leaking. + -1 moreWe had a roof in leak in our roof and while James was happy to perform the repair he showed us that our roof was getting old and was in need of replacing sooner than later. He suggested we save our money on the repair and replace the roof which would fix the leak too. He explained why the leak happened and what he was going to do to make sure it didn't happen again. We got 3 different quotes, not only were they the least expensive, they also offer the longest warranty on their work. (10 years! others were 3 and 5 years). He explained the different types of shingles in detail and helped us make a decision. While we were waiting to get approval from our HOA, they already had permits filed for the work. We let them know when we had approval, the materials were at our house the next day, and they started work 2 days after that. They got the entire house done in 4 days (with some significant rain delays). It looks amazing and I couldn't be pleased more!

+ -1 moreI got home the day after the work was done. The roof looks wonderful. They did all the work in 2 days once they got a new permit. My neighbors tell me they were there from about 7:30am until about 8:30pm the first day and again the next morning until about 10:30am the next day. I was able to borrow the balance of $1,800 so my check will be in the mail today so they will have it on time. When I spoke wit James the owner he told me I would still get a 10 year contract on the labor. Everything was done by phone, mail and fax. What a wonderful Company. I feel like I know them for years. Andrea who is the owners wife was an angel. We spoke several times on the phone. It was her constant reasurance that got me through my nightmare. I thank God for them. His timing was perfect as everyting was finished a little over a week before we were hit with heavy constant rains caused by Hurricaine Issac.
Description of Work: Labor plus anyother supplies I would need to install a new roof. The amount I paid included about $400.00 in extras. I had purchased all the materials I thought was needed from Lowes about $4,100.00. I was able to get back about $700.00 in returns. I even rented the dumpster for 2 weeks. My ding room ceiling was leaking to the point that I had a storage container to catch the water. A neighbor thought he and his son could do the work for me in exchange for a car I had. I was going to be out of town for 3 weeks. After three days I got a call that after tearing of the shingles in the back of the roof the damage was much worse than he thought. Much of the wood was rotted and needed to be replaced. At this point he said he was sorry but he was not going to be able to finish. It had started raining very heavy so put a huge tarp over the work he started. I was frantic as I recieve a retirement and social security check so I am on a fixed budget and had only had only $2,000.00 dollars I could possibly work with to start. It was a Saturday. I called 4 different roofing companies. 2 were answering services. I spoke to another and was going to call me back but never did. Then I called Winter Park Roofing. I spoke with Andrea I explained my delema and the first think she said was. We can certainly with you. Many people start and see that is to much to handle. Before I even signed a contract that she overnighted me to sign. She had someone to go and make sure that the tarp was put on properly because the living room ceiling had started leaking in several spots. I was in awe that a company would do this not only on a weekend but at no charge. They took my check and gave me until September 3rd to pay the balance with having me in person. I would recomend them in a heartbeat. They are trulely an A+

+ -1 moreCalled to get estimate, very timely response, the guys who showed up could not have been more professional and cordial. The tile is out of production, but they brought some from their boneyard. They went to Home Depot to get paint and matched the color perfectly. They crawled all over the roof fixing tiles I didn't even know we're broken. When they had finished for the day I noticed a tile out of place as they were getting in the truck. They got all their stuff back out and went back up to fix it. They showed up next morning to fix the gutters and instead of being a reset to the facia it turned out to be a removal and trim the metal and put it back up - more complicated and involved, but they stuck with the estimate. Well done, gentlemen!!

The job involved tons of bureaucratic paperwork because it was related to an FHA home loan. I could not believe how helpful and patient he was in dealing with the paperwork. He fully explained every aspect of the job to me and returned my calls promptly. But the bottom line is that his team did fabulous work and did it quickly. They even left the property cleaner than when they arrived! They are ethical, honest and great at what they do. I cannot recommend WPR highly enough!

He gave me two options, replace it, or reattach the original piece (it had not completely ripped off, just lifted up). I chose to reattach the piece that was there after he made me a very good offer for the work. Then he went up on his ladder and fixed it right up in just a few minutes. It looks good and I am happy with the work.

+ -1 moreThe work was done the following week and everything is back to normal. I could have paid 10 times as much as needed. Your first call should be to Winter Park Roofing. A thing to remember, all the companies I call to give an estimate were from Angie's list " A? rated Roofers.
Description of Work: I had three estimates done from Angie’s list “A” listed services. One gave me a very well presented description of the work to be done as well as a great company marketing brochure. His price for the work to be done was $4,600.00. The second one was between $ 1,600.00 to $ 1,800.00 dollars to solve the damage and water infiltration. Winter Park Roofing came and described the problem by showing me I-Phone pictures of the problem and offering me to see the problem by taking me up to see. He told me the price would be $475.00 dollars and could be accomplished in one day two days after accepting the quote. I showed him the information form the other quotes and he said there was no reason to do the work that was being proposed. The only damage was what he was physically showing me. In other words, most roofers don’t expect that you will go up to see what they are doing or proposing. After all you just want the leak to stop so they size you up by your house and neighborhood and hit you as hard as they can. His work was great and I have had no problems ever since.

+ -1 moreA crew of 5 roofers replaced all broken, cracked, loosened or missing tiles on my roof. They also made some additional minor repairs at no additional charge. They were unable to install metal "bird-stop", used to keep "critters" from getting between the roof and tiles, because it would not fit my roof line without folding the metal. I preferred that this not be done, so I asked for an estimate for the installation of concrete bird-stop, a time consuming and more expensive solution. My price for the current job was amended to exclude this aspect of the work. The crew arrived on time and conducted themselves professionally throughout the day, completing the job in approximately 5 hours. They were surprisingly quiet, considering the work that had to be done, and cleaned up throroughly afterward. Their experience was evident in their technique for getting the tiles up to the roof, not by carrying them up a ladder but by having a worker on the ground throw them underhanded, using 2 hands as if he was releasing a bird, a particularly heavy bird, to the worker on the roof, who caught them as they seemed to float above the roof line to the exact spot he needed to safely catch them. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. They know what they're doing and do not waste time. Moreover, their estimate was far more reasonable than those I received from otheer companies for the same job.
Description of Work: Approximately 70 concrete tiles were replaced and others were re-mortared where necessary.
