Winter Park Granite

Great Company! Ernie, the owner, came out for the estimate. We had already had two of the top "A" rated granite companies on Angies list come out. I was pretty sure I liked "the first guy" but thought, I'll get one more estimate just to be sure. Ernie, from Winter Park Granite, was the ONLY ONE out of the three two look under my kitchen sink and tell me that the $800 cast iron undermount sink I was I was about to order was never going to fit under there because of the way my cabinet was built. I can't even imagine the nightmare on install day when one of the other guys discovered that too late. Just to make sure Ernie wasn't wrong, I had one of the other guys back out. Sure enough, "Oh ya, that won't fit under there". Once we nailed down Winter Park Granite, the whole project was done in a week. It moved quickly and flawlessly. Ernie paid very close attention to the natural pattern of the granite slab to make sure it would flow correctly with the cuts needing to be made. There was a lot of attention to detail that I didn't notice from the other guys. The workers are polite and punctual. Marie, Ernies wife, was my email contact for scheduling and questions. She was very prompt with her replies and also very friendly. I love family run companies. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a new granite countertop. My lesson learned, sometimes all those "A"'s on here don't always represent the best choice. ;)

Sales lady, Theresa, was very friendly and nice which is why we chose them. Installers arrived late, then realized they left the sink back at the shop. They left to get the sink, leaving me waiting another hour. They also forgot the corbels to support the bar overhangs. At the time of template, the owner (Ernie Markey) said he would make us four corbels from the leftover granite scraps. He never mentioned there would be a charge. I was later told if we wanted the corbels it would be $25 each plus installation again. After several phone calls back and forth with Theresa, I then spoke to Earnie's wife. She would not even talk to me and hung up the phone on me - very unprofessional. Bottom line, we are now left with ten inch overhangs on two sides with no support. Very dangerous.
