Contacted John at Palmer Electric for a Generac installation quote, but he kept dragging his feet. I called after a week and he still had not quoted the job. My husband called after two weeks, and John said that he needed pictures of the electrical panels, which my husband provided. At the 3 week mark, my husband called again, and first John said that he "had not gotten around" to our quote, yet, and needed "additional pictures," and he was about to hang up the line, so my husband asked what additional pictures he needed, but John was over it and hung up the line. I called back, and Jessica said they would not be able to complete the work, because they "would not be able to get the permits, passed." She could not explain why, but I'm assuming John was upset since he had previously sent us a quote for a hybrid water heater install, but his quote was so high that we decided to forgo the water heater upgrade, and return it to The Home Depot, but instead of acknowledging that, John told Jessica that we installed it un-permitted, which is not true. We returned the Hybrid water heater, unopened, to The Home Depot, since it would require a panel upgrade that would have cost thousands. I explained that to Jessica, but she said they still would not "bid" our generator install, so maybe John was racist, because otherwise it doesn't make any sense at all why they would refuse to quote a Generac installation for us for no valid reason.

The installation took four hours to complete. The technician created a short in the existing circuit with the staples but corrected it. The fixture failed after 5 days due to lack of power. Verified the circuit had not tripped. Contacted Palmer, They expressed concern about doing warranty work. They referred it to a supervisor. He promised to call the next day. He did not. I called back and left a detailed message but they never got back in touch with me. I had to call another electrician to get the work finished. I do not plan to use them again. They do not stand by their work.
Description of Work: I contracted to add an outside LED motion motion sensor light to an existing circuit.

Palmer made an appointment and called before their arrival. They evaluated the two lights in the garage and gave me the option of replacing the ballasts or removing and replacing with two fixtures that I already had. The third fixture just had brunt out bulbs. Noel was knowledgeable and pleasant. The service was very reasonable.
Description of Work: Three fluorescent lights were flickering and sometimes came on and sometimes did not.

This is the second time I have used this provider. The first time some work was done incorrectly by them (through Lowe's) and they needed to send out a new electrician to fix the first one's error, and they did. I have no real complaints about that work as they corrected it free of charge. I should never have used them this second time though. The work they did was incorrect, and when I called a manager there to discuss it I had a very negative experience. First of all, he took over a week to return my call, and then insisted I call him back immediately or he would put a lien on my property. Really? Then, when I did speak to him, he was not willing to make any accommodations at all in regards to the possibly mistaken work on my pool. Rather than admit that there was the possibility that work was done incorrectly on my pool and offer to either fix the incorrect work or modify the bill, he told me if I did not pay it he would lien my property. When I indicated that I had already needed to pay another company to come out to try to fix the work they did, he insisted he knew it was done correctly b/c he had 25 years of experience in the business. However, he was not the one who did the work on my property, and he has never been to my property. His comment was "I can see from my tech's notes here that the work we did was correct" (despite the fact that I have never seen your system). I am now in a situation where I have a bill from Palmer Electric, I have paid another company to come out to figure out why my pool stopped working, and I now have to pay them again to come fix everything. I would warn you to be very cautious in working with Palmer Electric as this is my second negative incident. I would expect the manager to be willing to come inspect the work that another company is insisting was done incorrectly, but no such offer is available.

Called Palmer Electric on Friday 5/9/14 at 10:56AM because light in area that leads from house to garage was out. Told them it was probably ballast and my husband is legally blind and we really need it fixed fast. We also needed some timer switches installed as long as they were coming. They said the first appt. they had was Wednesday 5/14/14 and we would be the first at 8AM sharp. Said fine. Wednesday 9 AM and still no one here so I called them. Girl said my appt is for 9 to 12 and I said absolutely not. Another girl got on phone and said Well we had to put another call first and it will be sometime between 9 to 12. I explained we waited FIVE days and no one even called to check if the change in time was okay with us. She really didn't care. I cancelled the call. Hung up. Called Ferran Electric and they were here in less than 30 minutes. This is absolute unacceptable on the part of Palmer Electric!!!!!

The electricians arrived on time. Within a few minutes they had located the problem to a GFCI outlet that was not functioning properly. They explained what needed to be done and showed me the problem. Minutes later they had replaced the outlet.

We bought a home in Harmony and Palmer did the electrical work for the whole Green Zone area of houses. The street we live in and behind us we have had so many problems and the house was still under warranty and when the warranty ran out a year later we never used them again. There service is very bad and the men they send out were not very nice except for one of them. They use a lot of trainees and do not watch them and the work that is done is BAD! We were so afraid of electrical fires until we could not sleep. Our neighbor had so much trouble with her kitchen wiring until it was not funny. Do not use them if you value your house.... The service was free and poor! If you value your list of clients do not put Palmer in your book!

I was very surprised to see this review from [removed member name]. We wired her home in 2009, and we did have a warranty call in December of 2010. Since then we have heard nothing from her or from David Weekly, the builder for whom we wired the home. We still work for David Weekly Homes in this same community, and we contacted them about what complaints they had received that we may not know about whether from [removed member name] or any other neighbor in that community. They were not aware of any unresolved issues. Her complaint in April 2013 seems strange after over two and a half years since we last were in the home. No one at Palmer can remember hearing about the kind of complaints she alleges in her comments, whether from her or another homeowner in Harmony. Of course, all of our work is inspected by appropriate inspectors. However, wiring devices can fail just like any other item in your home. That does not mean there is danger of a fire or personal injury. Palmer has been in business for 62 years and is an A+ accredited member of the BBB and a preferred vendor for Progress Energy. These kind of unspecific comments are worrisome to me, and Palmer will be glad to meet with her on any wiring issue she may still have. Thank you, Tom Beard President

It went great. They were friendly and courteous. They did what they said they were going to. I don’t have any dislikes at all. I would definitely recommend them because they were punctual and on time. When they said how long it would take to make this certain cord for my husband they made it and brought it back within a week’s time. They were very efficient.
Description of Work: I used Palmer Electric to make an adapter of 220 in the garage so that my husband could use his table saw. They installed a hallway chandelier.

We had use him for my mother's place. They fixed wall outlet and hung some new lighting. They were professional, knowledgable, and thorough. I have used them for my own house and they do a terrific job. I would use their services again and would highly recommend them to others.

The techs who did the work were very professional. They arrived when they said they would and completed the work in the time frame given to us beforehand. We were given ample notice before the power was shut off. The only problem we experienced was in getting phone calls returned in a reasonable time. We have used them before and would use them again.
Description of Work: This is not the address on the invoice for the Palmer Electric we used. Their address is 875 Jackson Ave. Winter Park Fl. 32789. I tried 3 times to send a review on this address and 3 times I got an error notice when i hit submit. They replaced the inside FPE panel with a new panel and breakers. They replaced outside disconnect with new panel and breakers. They sleeved wire into house. They install sy com whole house surge. There is a word I can't make out but is work they did with the A.C. from the new panel.
