One Stop Cooling & Heating

We had an excellent service from them. We will recommend them. Another company that were the original installer of our air conditioning system told us we have to have $50 worth of work done because our system was not cooling and they had to cut out the box of our closet and the closet down below it and do all this and that and they will make a horrible mess. So we asked a second opinion from One Stop and he said that he knows what’s the matter; they have not replaces something in our cooler unit outside which they charged us for replacing. So they got it all fixed up. So that is an “A” rating s far as I am concerned.

I was thoroughly impressed by this company. The technician was extremely knowledge and helped educate me. They had up to date technology to check your systems and vents. I will be using them again and would recommend them to anyone needing heating and cooling services. They are upfront, honest and prompt. Thank you!!

I called them and a lady answered and said the technician would call me. The technician called me and stated that it would be an extra cost if he came out right now. He stated that we could do it tomorrow and promised he would call me and he did not call when he said he would. I was at work when they did end up calling and I had someone else do the work.

Contacted this contractor and got response and scheduled an appointment. Technician arrived on time as agreed upon. Performed excellent work. Very nice people and will definitely call them again in future if needed.

Bid was very competitive, but I ended up going with another company.

Another company, which had installed the system for the builder, and whom we called first,stated that they replaced the defrost control board. A/C still malfunctioned,after expensive infusion several times of more coolant, which this company said was leaking. They insisted that the only solution was to tear out the closet wall in our condo and the condo below and replace the "leaking" pipe at a cost of $1500. They called us several times, aggressively seeking an appointment to do the demolition and replacement. We called One Stop. because of seeing them on Angie's List. Danny discovered that the defrost control board, supposedly replaced by the other company, was nonfunctional and was not under warranty.......strange for a supposedly new board! When Danny replaced the control board with one that actually worked, we have had no more troubles. We hate to think of the mess, the expense and the disruption to our downstairs neighbors and ourselves if we had not contacted One Stop! Thank Goodness for a company that demonstrates more concert for Customer Service than for giving the customer a huge bill.

The service person was very courteous and explained very clearly what needed to be done. I'd purchased the unit from AC4Life a year ago, so I asked him about the warranty. I got a response stating that I would get the replacement for free. All I had to pay was for the tune-up service and repair cost at a discounted price.

**Update 4/24/14. This company has been getting worse and worse to deal with. In trying to negotiate a better price to fix their $3750 unit that broke 18 months after use, I spoke to the Service Department, which transferred me to John in Ecommerce, who transferred me to Kat in warranties, who transferred me to Jill back in the Service Department, who said they would call me back. Bryan (a service technician) called me back and said, and I quote, "All our units suffer broken coils." ALL THEIR UNITS! Self admittedly, all of their units break! When I asked him if all the coils break after 18 months like ours did, he said that no, only some of them break after 18 months. They appear to be selling massively defective products if Bryan, the service technician, admitted that ALL THEIR UNITS suffer from broken coils. **** Less than 18 months after spending $3750 on a new air conditioning unit with AC4Life, our Air Conditioning Unit has broken and they are charging $750 in labor to repair it. They made a service call this past Saturday to look at it and said the coil would need replaced, and it would take approximately 4 hours at $175/hour. I would like to point out that this is a vacation home, so we do not even stress our air conditioners as we leave our thermostat on 78 degrees when we are not using the house! I'm not sure what caused the unit to break, but we did purchase one of the units recommended by AC4Life in October 2012. So whether they are recommending inferior products, installed the unit shoddily, or are simply trying to get away with making service calls every 18 months to earn an extra $750, I'm not sure. I definitely would not recommend AC4Life or any of the products they offer unless you want to be making nearly $1000 in repairs to your unit less than 18 months after installation. Find another contractor!

It went excellent. Steve Fike walked us through the problem our options for fixing and pros & cons for each option. He was patient and waited for us to be comfortable with the install expense and time. Even reviewed the cost saving options as well. Great follow up and the install technicians advised on removing the plants from around the heat pump and why that would be a good idea. We've had the system for over a year now and it has been awesome.

Very professional and thorough. Two Technicians arrived promptly on time and were patient and courteous to explain the work and what future costs might be and to answer all my questions. I was very pleased and would recommend them highly.

I got exactly what they promised. Excellent A/C - not one problem after 19 months of *very* heavy use (asthmatic, I keep my home at 62°F, and the unit they installed does it, even in August!). Absolutely worth paying a little more for solid, honest sales and service. I also got a tax benefit of $300, and my electric bill went down by more than $150 per month.

Wow! Amazing crew of professionals. Went over and above in every aspect. The price was quoted up front and fully explained. They didn't just "quote"; they went through my lifestyle with questions to help ME decide what I really needed. The installation crew discussed what they would be doing and how long each area would take before starting work. They completely cleaned up each area as completed including vacuuming (with their won vacuum cleaners!). They tested and explained every step of the way so I understood the whole process and my new system. Then, they followed up days later to see how everything went and answer any additional questions. The entire One Stop Team worked together amazingly! Professional from start to finish! Not the cheapest but certainly the best VALUE for my money - as I got exactly what I needed (no more and no less). Great job, team!

They were excellent. He didn’t charge me anything to come out which was unusual. I had contacted him six months ago on a new unit and I had built a relationship based on that inquiry. So when my AC stopped, he only charged me for the part. It was so good that he didn’t collect the money until we tested our ac and he wanted us to make sure it was working before he collected his money. I had a friend whose ac unit died, I referred them and they put in a new ac unit at that home and because of that recommendation, they didn’t collect my $50. They gave it to me as a compliment! I thought highly of them to refer them to a family member so they are very good.

They were pretty good and we used them for the new house. I liked the customer service, the professionalism, and the equipment. The price was mid-range to good.

I made an appointment for the morning of June 20, 2013 between 8-12. Around 9:30 I received a phone call stating that the technician would be at my house closer to the 12 noon hour. If he was not able to make it, someone else would be sent to take a look at my air conditioning before 12. At 12:30 I called them back and they stated they had no idea where the service technician was. At that point, I canceled the appointment. While dealing with the company on the phone, they were professional. I just wish they would have called me back if they were not able to make it to my second appointment.

the salesman was the most knowledgeable and had the best price of the 3 companies I got estimates from. The best part was from the 2 tecks that installed the system. They ran into problems not of their own making (original builder issues) but very professionally over came them all. On a scale of 1 to 10 the installers were a 12.

I was very pleased with AC 4 Life in every way. I had an old AC system that was at the end of its life and stopped cooling. I chose AC 4 Life because of good Angie's reviews and for AC replacement specials advertised on Angie's. I sent an email requesting if I could have a tech check my system to see if it was repairable, but if not, if I could take advantage of the advertised special. The owner Mike called me that same day and said absolutely. If the tech determined the system was not repairable (not worth repairing), he would apply the tech visit charge to the new AC system and I could get the advertised price. Mike and I discussed the different manufacturers that he used and I expected him to press the higher priced system, but he gave me good information on both the specially priced system and the higher priced system. The tech came out (from One Stop Cooling - the two companies had just merged) and the tech was very professional. He checked my system. I had anticipated that I had another Freon leak, but the tech verified that my Freon levels were normal, but showed me that the compressor, although running, was not compressing... same pressure in and out, so the compressor was not working and needed to be replaced. So I decided to replace the system. The sales process was also professional with Charley coming out to discuss the new systems. He knew of my discussion with Mike and we discussed the different options. I ended up choosing the specially priced system with the only add on to replace the copper lines. One thing that Charley recommended was to add another air return because I only had one and it was not adequate for the size home and AC system. I did not do that and wish I did... I may have AC4Life install one in the future. The installation team (two techs) were very professional, and nice guys. They got right to work and had no problems removing the old system and installing the new. In the final checkout they did find that the input flow was low (as Charley had anticipated) and had to lower the blower speed to compensate. Even with this, the new system works great and cools the whole house well. It quickly cools the home even on the hottest days... I waited to review until we got into the 90s and we're there. Very satisfied.

This past weekend was our 2nd time using this service. The first time was a few months ago when they replaced a coil. We went with them because after getting a diagnostic from somewhere else, One Stop had a lower quote over the phone, promised they could do the work right away, and actually showed up quickly. But...when they showed up, they treated it like a diagnostic call and wanted to come back. They also wanted to charge for diagnosis even though we had explicitly agreed with them that they would start repair right away, and that the diagnostic had already been done. When asked why they were leaving the tech said they couldn't do the work because it was raining. Uhhh...it was an indoor unit. Later they said they needed to order a part\, even though they previously stated that they had it in stock which was one of the reasons we went with them in the first place. Fast forward to this past weekend. Started having problems with the same unit. They charged $145 for the service call because it was a Sunday. The unit had a bad circuit board. They charged almost $700 to repair. We then looked up the part online -- it was about $40 and it took the tech less than 10 minutes to install. When called about the extreme price differential, what we got was a lecture on the costs of running a business.

It turned out good. I had to have them make an adjustment for me in the price, because they promised me a bigger rebate through my electrical company.

Do get several estimates, meet in person with "the boss" prior to agreeing to the work. Tell him what it is you wish to accomplish and make sure he understands what you want to accomplish. Don't just pick the lowest estimate based on price. You need to have confidence in the people you use to do the job.

I called AC4Life for an estimate on a new heat pump system. Charlie Bonesteel arrived and was professional, prompt, and informative. I have not yet had to purchase a new system, but when I do I will only call Charlie and AC4Life.

I contracted with the company to replace my central air system that was stolen (air handler and outside unit). They arrived on time and worked throughout the day. At the end of the day, they tested the system and said that it was fine. However, 2 days later the system stopped working. I called them and Ron came out to check to see what was going on with the system. He said that the electrical breaker was tripping out. He instructed me if the breaker trips again that I should reset it. I commented to him that I do not believe I should do that because I did not want to cause a fire. He said that resetting is not a fire hazard. He also said that I should not be afraid to call the company if there is a problem because it was his job to get the installation right. So on Labor Day when the system stopped working again, I called Charlie of AC4Life. Ron came again, and spent a considerable amount of time going over the installation to see what the problem could be. He finally said that the breaker was bad, and that he had to switch the breaker used by the a/c with the breaker used by the stove. I am not sure if that was what he did but the system has been working properly ever since. Please also note that the stove has been working with the breaker that was once used by the a/c. Before Ron left he told me that he was instructed by AC4Life to collect $298.00 for the 2 visits. I believe that was dishonest because the system stopped working 2 days after installation. I brought in an electrician the day after Labor Day. He checked the breaker box and told me that nothing was wrong with any of the breakers. I called Julie of AC4Life to coordinate inspection of the system by the City, but she told me that she will not do that until they are paid the $298.00. I was also told by another worker at AC4Life that they are holding on to the warranty until payment is received. What I don't understand is, how could a company charge for visits to fix a problem 2 days after they install an expensive a/c system. I hav e mailed them a check for the $298 and requested that they set up an appointment for the inspection by the City. They should receive this check sometime next week, and will await their response.

We were very pleased with the service and are enjoying our new AC!

They did a great job. Their customer service was great. They worked with me about the price, and provided the best price around. They also worked with me regarding the installation, working around my schedule. The installation looks great, and they are energy efficient, and cool the house really well,. They also helped me out with the local utility company that provides rebates. They were just great, and I would use them again.
