I think I stated it above. Again beautiful job when completed. He does great work and we are very happy with the results. Margaret
Description of Work: extended patio area with pavers that were left over. Brice is a very nice and polite person and he did a great job. The only problem that we had with him was his lack of communication. Took forever to get him out here to do the job but it was beautiful once he finally got to do it. Need lots of patience and not be in a hurry to get the job done because he is not good at following thru with times he promises. Use his services it time is not an issue.,

The project went well. He came by on his way home the same day I called for an estimate. He dropped the estimate by my house within 2 days. It was one of the most professionally done estimates I've seen. There was no doubt about what work was to be done, and cost associated. He completed the work the next week, and was able to seal everything except the patio. (It was not drying due to location in the shade and rains). Finally dried out about a week or so later...I sent him a text and he was there the next day to finish the job. This is a nice professional young man and he did a very good job.
Description of Work: He matched our existing driveway pavers and added two parking runners for a boat trailer. He put pavers on existing patio pad and extended it with additional pavers to increase patio size. He sealed all his work and also the driveway.

The first phone call to Bryce was made in early December and we had to make several subsequent follow-up calls and he never made contact. We decided to make one more call to give it one more chance and he finally called us back. We scheduled an appointment for that Saturday for him to come and give us an estimate. He never showed up for the appointment and there has never been a call to date. Very disappointing!
Description of Work: The work was never done because he never contacted us and did not show up for his scheduled appointment.

I contacted Brice based on the "A" rating. I called and left a message and within an hour received a call from Brice. I discussed the project and we agreed on a day for a quote. On the scheduled day he called about 2 hours before meeting time and cancelled. We rescheduled for another day the following week. No big deal at this point as I'm understanding things may happen that cause rescheduling. So on the next scheduled day, I called a few hours before to confirm he was still coming. No answer, left a message. Well, sad to say he didn't show up or call to explain. Its very disappointing Brice just blew off a potential customer, and doesn't have the courtesy to call and make it right. My advice for anyone calling him for services is to ask if he's gonna no call no show them like myself and others who've posted the same experience.

We contacted Brice based on his good reviews on Angie's list. He showed up to measure for an estimate promptly. Before we met with Brice we also had another contractor come in and give us some ideas and cost estimate. We decided to hire Brice because he seems to understand our concerns right away and also provided good designing ideas. After two brief meetings Brice was able to provide us with a written estimate that we found acceptable. We had to wait for about a month for the project to start since he has been extremely busy. Due to weather and other issues the project was delayed a bit but finally got all done recently. Brice is a very pleasant , hard working young man who puts a lots of effort in his work. I see good quality and attention to details in the pavers he did for us. His price is reasonable and he is very honest to his customers. Since he does good work and gets a lots of phone calls from people wanting to hire him I seriously think he needs more help with his business in order to handle more projects and for it to grow in the future. Overall we are very happy with his work and would recommend him to anyone who is looking for quality paver work!
Description of Work: Brice and his crew installed beautiful pavers on my front porch and on walkways around my house. They also did retention walls around my garden and installed several drainage pipes to address our drainage concern. My backyard is absolutely beautiful now.

We started by contacting several installers that we found here. Brice was quickly identified as someone we could work with as he was knowledgeable, experienced and enthusiastic about helping us. It actually took us quite a while to decide on our project details although we thought that we had them pretty well mapped out at the start. As we learned more about what we needed and wanted to do, Brice helped with everything from size and positioning to color and shape. When he realized what I was planning as phase two, he suggested that the posts I was planning to set were not a good Do It Yourself idea. After seeing what he did with them I am glad I did not try it myself. Brice executed our project with an approach that kept us informed and engaged every step of the way. The people that came to help him were friendly and professional as well. We did make some last minute changes which did not phase Brice. I am very glad that we chose to work with Brice and am confident that if we have problems or new projects in the future that we can count on him again. I am glad to recommend Let Brice Do It for your similar projects.
Description of Work: Brice provided excellent consulting and installed a 37' x 35' patio extension in my back yard including a fire pit and 2 french drains. He also set 6 10' 6 x 6 posts for a pergola like project that I will complete. In addition we did a sidewalk and front porch entry redo in the front yard.

Brice just finished the patio and bench wall and I could not be more pleased. I found that my experience mirrors all the positive reviews I had read on Angies List when I was researching companies to do this project. I got 4 quotes and Brice provided not only the lowest cost but he offered the most in what services he provided for my money including the creating a corner that is a half semi-circle and the decorative bench wall. His price also included preparation of the area which included a signifiicant amount of work having to take out hedges and other land scapping, not just clearing grass. All the other companies had an additional charge to do it or I had to do this myself. As far as the experience with him he was always timely, professional and his quality of work is at a very high degree. I also appreciated how well he communicated with me when there are issues and obstacles like delays due to the weather (and it has been raining alot in central Florida). Despite that Brice did a great job in handling everything and finishing the project in a very timely manner. Going forward I would not hesitate to use Brice again as well as recommend him confidently to freinds and family. Brice if your reading this please feel free to use me as a reference and display any pictures of our patio on your Facebook Page.

Brice and his crew were very professional, had a great attitude and did a great job. His recommendations for paver colors made it easy for us to decide and even brought the samples of bricks to us. He also recommended using polymeric sand to prevent weeds and pests from coming through the bricks (this is a must have). No other quotes we received offered this product. We highly recommend Brice and we love our new patio. We plan to have a brick paver driveway in the future and we'll definitely be calling him.

Brice did an excellent job! When he first came out, he was very thorough, explaining the paving process, and all the details. Brice actually picked out the pavers based on the color of the home. The Courtyard looks amazing! Quite a few of the neighbors gave their seal of approval. The work was well done and the price was right. I would always recommend him for a job.

Brice and father George aka and quot;Let Brice Do it. . .and quot; came highly recommended on AG, so we decided to get an estimate which we felt was very comperable and had no reason to search elsewhere. Brice came out, looked at rear yard/patio, did a quick survey and i told him and quot;it's your canvas, use your magicand quot;. . .and he and George did just that! What a design!---especially for the price! Moved our existing irrigation system pipes, our existing plants and really made our rear patio pop and look great! Extremely satisfied and happy, made our rear patio look and feel much bigger than just the 333 sq ft! We'd recommend them to anyone anytime! Even with a few small detail issues, they went above and beyond to make sure I knew that their priority was that we were totally happy and satisfied with their work. Quality was great, attitude great. Timeliness was great although sometimes mother nature challenged their schedule a bit :) A+ Nice work guys!

I contacted Brice in November by phone when I started thinking of paving a small area in my backyard. I wanted to get pricing and design ideas. I left a voice mail but they never responded. It didn't matter that much as I put the project on hold. When I was ready in April I contacted Brice again, based on reviews, as well as Orlando Brick Pavers. I had an immediate response from OBP but none from Brice. Left another voicemail for Brice. Nothing. I have no idea about the quality of their work, but their responsiveness deserves an F. Maybe they don't need the work, or maybe they don't want smaller jobs under $5K.

Brice did an excellent job and did everything he promised and then some. I think his work was more than professional and so was he. He was very informative and extremily knowledgeable of his job and the work he performed. This was not an easy task with the tree roots that were worse than expected and quite extensive. But, he got the job done! The driveway looks great. Not only would I recommend him to others, but I am going to have him do more work for me in the future. This is a fine, professional young man. I realy can't speak highly enough of him. He is outstanding.
Description of Work: Our driveway needed repair in several areas. One large area had extensive damage from roots of an oak tree. We needed the roots taken care of as well as the disposed concrete hauled away. Then the repair on the drive way itself.

The job went very well. I was concerned about all the water, electric and telephone lines underground in the area of grass where the dog and quot;patioand quot; was to go. Because I was concerned, they hand dug up this area initially to be sure they wouldn't hit any of the lines. The job turned out ever nicer than I expected and my neighbors (and some joggers I don't know who run by our street on occasion) all commented on how great they thought it looked. One neighbor even asked me for Brice's number and talked with him about some work on his driveway. I would definitely use him again. He does good work and puts a lot of care into the whole process, even bringing you samples of the pavers he will use so you can be sure the color is what you have in mind.
Description of Work: I live on acreage and my very long concrete driveway was breaking up terribly from pine tree roots in one spot that was about 52 feet long. The driveway was 30+ years old and whoever installed it originally didn't do it correctly and I expect did not use properly mixed concrete. Plus the tree root damage was extensive. I wanted to introduce pavers for the repair and, as the driveway breaks up more in other areas, replace that as well with pavers. I contacted a few vendors on my own (not through Angie's List) and then joined Angie's List and found Brice. He came out to assess the situation and came up with two options for me -- to dig up the broken driveway and haul it away and then replace it with pavers, and then he priced replacing it with more concrete. The pavers were only about $100 more than the concrete and they look so much nicer and offer more options for the future. The work got underway about two weeks after I accepted the bid due to other work they had already scheduled. They showed up when they said they would and had the job completed in about 3-1/2 days. Just as they said. I had them include in the bid a small area where the dogs like to rest and kept tearing up grass, so they included this area as well in their pricing.

We are very happy with the final product and will use this company again.
Description of Work: Brice gave estimates for both concrete and concrete apron/paver driveway. We compared about six different companies and went with this one. He was willing to negotiate with us and we decided to go with part pavers. He was prompt and also stained the pavers. We originally did not have a driveway.

I found Brice on Angies List. He came and we worked out a design and he provided an estimate with pricing for several options. At this meeting he laid out the procedures for all of the work and agreed to saving the sod. Prior to commencing, we got the necessary building permit and homeowners association approval. When we called to set up an installation date, we specified that we were flexible and would work with him on scheduling. At this time we decided to request in an increase to the size of the fire pit circle from 10 feet to 12 feet and he quoted the increase cost for the pavers. Rain delayed some of his previously scheduled projects so we agreed to begin work sometime in October. All materials had to be brought in manually because of the placement of the house on a pie shaped lot. When they arrived the sod was removed and placed as requested on a hillside sloping down to a fence. The framing for the extended patio was done with great skill. A machine was brought in to tamp down the concrete fine base. The building inspector approved the framing for the patio extension. The concrete finishing work was properly done with the final brushing to leave a textured surface so it would not be slick. The paver installation was amazing to watch. The circle had to have all of the interior edge pavers trimmed individually to create the circle, then the outer circle had each paver trimmed. Then the polysand was swept into the spaces to anchor the pavers and prevent weed growth, followed by a coating of color enhancer. Once work commenced the work was completed in 4 days. The workers were polite, hardworking and very professional. I would definitely use Brice again. As an addendum, We have since put up a screen enclosure and had the patio resurfaced. Both additional vendors complemented us on the excellent quality of the concrete and paver work.
Description of Work: Expanded existing concrete patio and installed paver pathwork in 2 locations and a 12 foot paver circle for a fire pit. Sod was cut for the pathways and extended patio. Sod was relocated and laid on a hillside on the property.

Original service date went fine. However, within three months, the slab cracked down the middle. I called and called, and finally, they showed up, and said they were really busy. I said they could fix the slab when they had time. I thought it would be a month or so. They NEVER CAME BACK to fix the slab, and the crack is still there. It has been a year already, and I'm now looking for someone to redo my driveway, and well, I will NOT be calling them. Very disappointing.

I believe that our experience with this contractor is best summarized in the following email exchange [emphasis added]... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: HG Woodward and lt;woodwardhg@yahoo.comand gt; To: and quot;bricenembach@yahoo.comand quot; and lt;bricenembach@yahoo.comand gt; Sent: Friday, September 28, 2012 10:33 AM Subject: Re: 1882 Meeting Place - Travertine Paver Installation Brice, Angie's List has asked me to provide them with a detailed report of your work for us. I have drafted a fairly lengthy and detailed account for this job to justify what I believe to be a very poor performance. I would like you to review this report and let me know if you have any comments or revisions before I submit it. I do not want to submit a report that omits material facts or contains erroneous facts, so I need you to respond to this email if you believe that this report is inaccurate. My report is as follows: Based upon very strong endorsements from Angie’s List, I asked this contractor, LET BRICE DO IT CONCRETE and PAVERS, to give me a full quote for a rear patio remodel and travertine paver installation. The paver system was to include sub-layer materials, pavers, fill material, labor, disposing of excess material, and edge restraint. Contractor was to cut and grade area move 1 sprinkler, cap 1 sprinkler and convert three other sprinklers to drip lines. Contractor was to demolish sidewalk, remove and haul concrete. Sand set installation of Travertine pavers 16and quot; x 16and quot; and infill with polymeric sand. On May 16, 2012, the Contractor presented a proposal to do this work for $2,508.00. At that time, the Contractor assured me that he had done installations in our neighborhood before, that he would complete the work in June 2012, and that I would not need HOA approval for the work. All of these statements were inaccurate. In fact, the Contractor had not worked with Travertine pavers, he could not complete the work in June 2012, and I needed to obtain HOA approval for the work. After the HOA approved the work, I contacted the Contractor on July 27, 2012 to make the (50%) down-payment on commence work. At that time, the scope of work was modified so that the contractor was to add square footage (additional $115.00) and provide and install field drain extension and extension on sprinkler system valve encasement (additional $150.00). However, the pricing on the Travertine that was originally quotes also was increased by the Contractor. Therefore, on August 1, 2012, the Contractor presented a new proposal to do this work for $3,314.00. We specifically agreed that the work would be and quot;Done in Augustand quot;. At that time, I paid approximately $1,657.00 down to purchase the Travertine and commence work. Aside from the fact that the Contractor under-bid this job which caused me to reject more reasonable proposals submitted by other contractors for this job, his representation that the work would be completed in August was also inaccurate. In early August the contractor cleared the vegetation. By mid-August, the contractor demolished and removed the sidewalk leaving the work area (high foot traffic area for the family) a hazardous and unsightly work area. As the end-of-August approached, I had several telephone conversations and exchanged numerous text messages with the Contractor regarding scheduling the work, providing a safer work area and completing the work. At this time, the Contractor began making false and misleading representations. The most disturbing statements (and texts) were made to me in late August. At that time, the Contractor represented that he had spent our down-payment to purchase the Travertine. On August 24, 2012, the Contractor wrote: and quot; The travertine is bought waiting for me to pick up i should be on your project thurs. and fri. next week.and quot; This was a demonstrably false and misleading statement. In fact, the travertine was not purchased (with the down-payment money that we provided almost 1-month earlier), and the contractor did not return to our project the following week. Thereafter, the Contractor made numerous other demonstrably false statements and assurances. We have documented no less than 4 instances where this Contractor assured us that he would come on a date specific and then he never showed-up without any forewarning for the cancellation. Ultimately, the travertine was purchased and picked-up by the contractor on or about September 20, 2012, and despite all of the false statements and missed deadlines, the Contractor announced that job was completed on or about September 24, 2012. The work, however, was not completed pursuant to our agreement. For example, he did not convert three sprinklers to drip lines and he did not use restraint material that matches the color of the travertine, nor did he stain the restraint material to match the travertine, among others. [He did not extend the drainage box encasement and he did not extend a sprinkler control valve encasement. Instead, he simply covered these areas with pavers]. Perhaps realizing that the work had not been completed pursuant to our agreement, the Contractor became somewhat aggressive and we caught him attempting to enter into our privacy area for the purposes of confronting us and collecting the final payment. Despite the misleading statements, delays and incomplete work, the Contractor discounted only $20 from the proposed price. We regrettably paid $1,637.00 to the Contractor on September 25, 2012. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: brice nembach and lt;bricenembach@yahoo.comand gt; To: and quot;woodwardhg@yahoo.comand quot; and lt;woodwardhg@yahoo.comand gt; Sent: Friday, September 28, 2012 7:08 PM Subject: Re: 1882 Meeting Place - Travertine Paver Installation Got your email today and have never read a more one sided erroneous compilation of reality in my life. Contractor was to cut and grade area move 1 sprinkler, cap 1 sprinkler, convert three other sprinklers to drip lines, extend a drainage box encasement and extend a sprinkler control valve encasement to be level with the paver surface. Contractor was to demolish sidewalk, remove & haul concrete. Sand set installation of Travertine pavers 16" x 16" and infill with polymetric sand.

Response from Let Brice Do It Concrete & Pavers
The day we finished this job both Member were home for most of the day and as we were wrapping up, preparing to seal, they walked all around the patio, everything was fine and they said 'THE JOB LOOKS GREAT', Member asked if the concrete encasement color would match the Travertine? This was never an item, however, I said no but it would cure very light and it's against the white poly fence on one side, on the other you won't see it with the new artificial grass( proposal we had talked about). They asked my Dad about design idea's and loved what he gave them so they asked for another/new proposal for his design and cost in their remaining backyard space. We also discussed with Member a soaker hose instead of drip lines, the artificial grass which I brought samples of and when we could do it. After abit Member suddenly was gone and we were finished, I asked Member if we could 'settle up' and get a completion check. She said that Member had to go back to the office as he had some Depositions to work on or take and he had the checkbook. We communicated to him that we could come by early in the morning and pick up a check, just leave it under the mat, no response. The next morning we came by about 7:20, lights were on, rang bell. no answer, heard kids/noise, knocked on door, no answer, went around back to alleyway garage and went to the back gate we used to get into backyard while working, combo lock does'nt work but we see the Members hustling the kids and Member to school and work I guess. Member leads me into the kitchen, no problems ( no aggression from my behavior) and reached up to bring down a checkbook from cupbard. Begins to write me a check telling me 'HE' is deducting $20.00 for the driplines. I said "no problem", no aggression at all. My dad sat out in the truck in alley reading the paper with the door open. As I left, Member asked if we would have that new proposal ready today, I said "I'll ask my dad as he deals with the artificial grass company and get back to him". Everything we contracted to provide and perform was done. Any exceptions or changes were made and or agreed to by the customer ie. no drip lines, no raised drain-buried pipe instead, no raised and visable manual gate valve box (my idea ). I asked Member if he ever turned the gate valve off and he said, which I figured,"never touched it". I suggested for aesthetic reasons that I could raise it to just under the new Travertine surface, lightly mark the bottom of the two walls for future locating and he would now have no eye-sore in his beautiful new Travertine patio, he agreed-good idea and THAT'S WHY we didn't raise the drainbox and valvebox that he makes sound like we just did'nt do something we were supposed to do. He omits that very important info in his complaints. He also falsely states many others facts. As for 'representing' as he phrases it that the work would be done in Aug., what he was told before we ever contracted was that we would 'Work in' all the prep. work as we had any openings/afternoons( we were booked trough Sept.) and then when that was complete we could set up for a full day, day and a half to bring the Travertine on our trailor( that's why we did'nt pay for them right away, we did'nt know exactly when we would be laying them and we could'nt let them sit on our trailor) as the alleyway has no where to have the supplier drop them off and just sit. We pay, two days we pick up at showroom facility as they are brought in from I believe Miami. This is exactly what we said we would do and it is exactly what we did and he, as far as we knew, understood. He lost nothing by the timing of our purchase, much ado about nothin, at least he never said anything like he is now. I will give him some slack here, the Aug. & early Sept. weather WAS extremely frustrating as we would be heading to his job and the bottom would fall out, there goes that afternoon, we assumed he was smart enough to understand 3-4 o'clock thunderstorms would stop us from coming over, no need for another text. Nonetheless he still prompted 37 texts for this job, numerous phonecalls and terrible micro-managing attempts to run our affairs. As for telling him that he did'nt need approval from his HOA, well, let me just say that after hundreds and hundreds of jobs I know very well what I tell people about their HOA's and that's that they need to check with their HOA because their all different. Most, but not all, will require approval, some even have an Architectural Committee needing approval and thats why we ALWAYS provide a 'sketch' right on our proposals! Another allegation-False. As for our bidding low, again false! After our initial proposal, the customer added square footage and he selected a different Travertine from another supplier that was priced substantially higher, we just added the difference and some additional labor, that's what raised the price. He accepted without reservation and I'm suprised at the lengths he is going to to try and tarnish our hard earned reputation. This guy has eaten some sour grapes but we did'nt give them to him. We never pushed him to accept anything, his complaints are like he's oblivious to all our honest dealings with him. We never discussed these disappointments he suddenly has created nor did we ever have a cross word. He was seemingly pleasant in person and then otherwise somewhat sly , very stealthy. We actually were very glad the day we finished because he made us feel very leary as he always tried to micro-manage the project and expand the scope of our work. As for having a hazardous situation in his backyard I'll say that one day, after another afternoon thunderstorm, he called us up late and in a very demanding tone wanted us to do something, well, nothing we HaD DONE HAD CAUSED HIS PROBLEM BUT WE DROPPED WHAT WE WERE DOING AND CAME DIRECTLY OVER, NO APPRECIATION FOR THAT IN HIS COMMENTS HUH! In his opinion, he had a small lake in his small backyard thus hazard, all we had done was remove weeds where I guess he could'nt see the water before. We had just finished days before, removing the 3 ft. high weeds in the patio's footprint. When finished we had exposed his drain, now we were discovering that his drain was extremely slow but did work. He wanted us to investigate what was wrong, we did, taking up some of our 'work you in' time that we told him about before he accepted our proposal. Over the next two days, we checked out his drainage system, where it went and the elevations it took getting there, he didn't show any appreciation for this and we did'nt even charge him a penny for it! That's okay though because that's the way we treat our customer's, we try to help. To finish, because I really don't know how or what we did to have this customer so angry with us as none of this was ever an issue or a thought. My only attempt at a guess for the Angie's List members is that the weather killed many days we could have used as 'work in' days and he was getting frustrated, as we are but we deal with this every summer, also I believe he got embarrassed when we came early to pick up our check and maybe vindictive towards us because we would'nt give him another proposal quick enough, nor have we and we would never work for him again anyway and lastely I believe he thinks we lied to him, the day after we were finished, when he asked us if we had any Travertine left and we told him no just scraps but he was welcome to them. We litterly did not have one full piece, even when we were almost finished he was standing right there on the patio when we had to count how many pieces we had left-we had 36 and needed 32. Breakage took the four and we sweated it out. I truley value the Angie's List Platform, respect what it provides members and no matter the good, the bad or the ugly I will always advise my customers as I have done with Member to send in how you feel. I believe that sometimes we get over praised and I accept it. Well, I guess I'll accept this too, only thing is. How can you get a D in quality when your customer tells you 'Job looks great" when you finished and how do you get a Would'nt Use Again when customer pestered us for another proposal for MORE WORK?

Brice is hard to get in touch with. It takes several calls to get him to call back. Had I not had him do previous work and like his quality of work and price I would've moved on. But since I wasn't in a hurry I didn't mind dealing with this minor inconvenience. He says this is because he is really swamped, so much so that he may have to start hiring people to have more than just 1 crew working. Anyhow, Brice came out and I showed him what we wanted done. Due to his schedule we scheduled the work about a month or more out. Sometime before our scheduled date (can't exactly remember when) he called me one morning while i was at work and said they had the day free so could come out right then. Fortunately my wife was off work that day. They came out and installed retaining blocks the rest of the way around the french drain area (about 33 linear feet). The blocks are 2 high going down to 1 high. They installed a nice pattern for the pavers leading from the door to the retaining blocks. I wish i had been home for one reason because part of my goal was to have the pavers go to the right of the door enough so that when the dog bolts out as soon as it is cracked open he would be on pavers and not running across the river rock which he shoots backwards as he races out into the yard. My wife wasn't really up on this and the design Brice put down was a little different than what he sketched so I thought it'd be ok from the sketch. Anyhow it was easy to resolve by putting a big potted plant in that part of the river rock. It was hilarious the first time I opened the door and the dog tried to bolt out with that plant there. Now the dog uses the pavers. :-)
Description of Work: I hired Brice a couple years ago to put in a french drain behind my screened porch as my backyard slopes badly into my porch which is below grade. I had some retaining blocks that he used for a barrier then. Over time the area that didn't have retaining blocks had dirt washing into the river rock area and grass (mostly bad grass but some St Augustine) was growing into the river rock drain area. Also I wanted some pavers in front of the screen door so you (and the dogs) weren't just walking on the river rock mashing it down.
