There were no problems with any of the ordering and they were very helpful. I checked three places and they had the best price. They were good. I would give them 100% an A. They came out and measured within a week. I worked with one sales rep and he was very good. This was my only experience with them.
Description of Work: I used FAS. I ordered windows from them and I used a handyman to install the windows. They measured the windows and ordered the windows but they did not install them.

Salesman was responsive until he had the money, then became hard to pin down. Gave misleading info and to compensate, was told i would get a visa card, but it never happened. Installers refused to make any adjustments, preferring to leave it to Service Dept. Service Dept is the best thing about them. The product is supposed to be sound suppressing, but I still hear trucks rumbling, dogs barking, etc. Also, it took months for the right order to arrive.

Overall, about what I expected. However, one caveat to prospective purchasers: if you have a pre-install home inspection done (by Duke Energy, FPL, etc,) for an energy rebate, DO NOT give the affidavit to FAS or one of their representatives until after the work has been completed. The likelihood of your seeing that document ever again or receiving your rebate....in my case $175 to $200 is slim to none at all. The Duke Energy rep told us as much...but we did not heed his advice and gave our affidavit to Frank, FAS's sales associate. After 3 phone calls to Suzanne @ FAS, we still have not received any feedback from her, FAS or Frank. VERY SAD!

Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologize for the confusion with the Duke energy rebate form. After looking into this matter and reading up on the account notes it looks like the rebate form was submitted on 11/18/2016. Please follow up with Duke Energy about your rebate. Duke Energy won't work directly with FAS on this matter. All we can do is submit the information. To: Window Incentive Dept. Attached please find the rebate form with attachments for processing for [Member Name Removed] on [Member Information Removed] Ct., Orlando. They didn't provide their account number. We didn't end up using FAS as the price was way over all other quotes. A salesperson came to the house and was very professional but gave an overall high price of $5000 where we went with Lowes and got the same product for $2200.

FAS was the highest of our quotes, however, the sales person seemed knowledgeable and FAS reviews seemed okay. Installation went fine and we paid the full balance. Caulking could have been neater. Two of the nine windows, which were both over the bathtub, did not pass inspection as they were not made of tempered glass. We waited about a month and FAS came to install the tempered glass replacements today. One of the windows was not the proper size so now must be reordered, reinstalled and reinspected. Inconvenient and additional time had to be taken off from our jobs as this situation is remedied. Resolution remains pending at this writing.

The entire process was executed extremely well. I made an appointment, the sales person showed up on a weekend, evaluated their quote against others, and chose them. When they showed up, FAS installed all windows within the day and cleaned all mess. I am very picky when it comes to contractors so when I found a small mistake with the look of the trim and some caulk, they were very quick to respond. (To be fair, I hadn't paid them yet) Two hiccups: - I had to follow up to find out if my windows were in (which they were) and get them scheduled. I wanted them in before we hit the raining season - I had one unpleasant interaction with someone trying to collect on the invoice before the work was complete. It was resolved once I roped other people into the conversation Overall - If I were to hire a window company I would definitely hire them again. Professional installers, on time, and good product. Customer service great despite the one hiccup. Considering how corrupt the business is, if you go with someone else you run a risk.

Be cautious about promises from the sales person for FAS. It seems that he will promise you things they can't deliver on to make the sale. We are remodeling a room due to termite damage. Everything is framed and waiting for the new windows and the sliding glass doors. One of our biggest concerns when getting estimates was how long it would take to manufacture and install the windows because all the other construction is on hold until this piece is complete. Phillip King from FAS comes to our home on 7-16-16. He sounds knowledgeable, convinces us that his product is worth the price they are charging(second highest estimate from 5 companies), and tells us he can have the windows in 6 to 8 weeks. He says he will personally follow through to insure we get them quickly. My wife likes the wood grain interior finish so we spend $1600 more than the next closest bid. By the way, as he fills out the paperwork he says he has to list 8-11 weeks to install because the office insists on it. Don't worry though. He will push it through. Two weeks later we get a call. Seems the manufacturer started production on the windows but the hardware color we ordered has a defect and they have discontinued it. We change the color. I ask about the install date. The office tells me they will have the sales guy call. He calls, tells me the windows are in production, then says that they noticed the hardware issue and stopped work so they could resolve it. I questioned him on the install date. I reminded him about his promise. He says that due to the hardware issue it will probably be closer to 11 weeks but they will be able to install by that date. That's the first week of October. He also tells me that he made a significant mistake on the pricing, that the windows should have been a lot more expensive, that they are taking a loss on them, and that he is doing the work for free. They were already $1600 more than the high end Pella window???? The credibility is dropping. Today, 8-15-16 the office calls me. They said that they are ready to place the order and ask if I have any other questions. Ready to place the order, I ask? I tell them what the sales person told me. I asked about the install date. They tell me it will be 6 to 8 weeks from the time they place the order until they receive the windows and another 2 weeks to install. When is that? 10 more weeks is the end of October or early November. It will be interesting to see what happens next. They have a good reputation but at this point I am pretty disappointed. Here is a photo of my family room All ready for windows. HMMMMMM

Mr. [Member Name Removed], we apologize for your frustration regarding the outcome of your project. Based on our internal notes we communicated with you multiple times during your project and made you aware that there were color selection issues with the hardware; as evidence by you selecting a new hardware finish via email on 8/6/16. Regarding the delay with ordering your product; we cannot place an order until we have all the specifics, including hardware finishes, which is how the manufacturer knows how to make the product. We tried our best to work with you, unfortunately during our short relationship you threatened to cancel if your demands were not met, and today you turned to the internet many times in an attempt to damage FAS' reputation. Simply put, we do not feel that there is any outcome where we can satisfy you 100%. FAS doesn't delete reviews from our customers, we respond to them quickly, accurately, and with professionalism. We are a family owned business that does the very best to meet our customers' expectations and our positive online reputation is proof of that. We appreciate you choosing FAS and are also apologetic that the outcome could not have ended with a more positive outcome. FAS Windows & Doors successfully manages hundreds of home Improvement projects per year with great success.

In home consultation went very well, went to the showroom the next day to look at some of the hardware. Left meeting asking for an electronic copy of the quote and for salesman to wait a week till I was finished shopping around. Salesman calls and texts several times during the week and never sends a copy of quote. After a week and three requests?a quote is emailed. It is missing a window and incorrectly sizes two other windows by over a foot. The quote is also for about $400 more than quoted in person. Try to contact salesman, no response. Contact sales manager, he said he would contact me the next day. Two days later he contacts me and says he will review the quote and get back to me in a day or two. Six days later I decide to hire ANYONE except FAS.

I recently purchased an older home and am working through the "punch" list as time and resources allow. Unfortunately, I did not plan on finding out that the patio doors leak. Suddenly, new patio doors moved to the top of the list! As anyone who is doing renovations on a home they plan to keep for the future, I am seeking quality products and professional labor at a fair price. I had heard of FAS reputation and sought them out to make an appointment. The salesman came to my house, measured the opening, and said that the only way to show me the available doors was to go to their showroom. I asked if he was available at that time to go to the showroom which is only 10-15 minutes from my home. He graciously accommodated me and I was able to visit the showroom immediately. The showroom is nicely displayed with doors and windows from several quality companies. The salesman repeatedly sang the praises of FAS, their products, and labor as head and shoulders above the rest. The salesman introduced me to the entire staff and gave me a tour of the warehouse. He showed me a particular door and steered me away from the others. He seemed to assume this was the one and only door and rushed through the features as through it was a done deal. As this was my first time shopping for this particular custom door that would not only be structural but a focal point in my home, I was seeking information regarding the options available to make an informed decision. When I asked questions about other doors in the showroom, I was told they were inferior, either in materials or price, and undesirable. At times, it was patronizing and insulting. Nevertheless, I was given a quote immediately. I thanked him for the quote and told him I would need time to consider it, research my options,, etc. His demeanor immediately changed. I asked him if I could contact him in a few days with my decision, he stated that it didn't work that way. He would have to come to my home again if I decided to use FAS. I left and immediately went to a competitor to inquire about their products. When I got home, I looked over the quote in detail and found that the measurements for the doors were approx. 10 inches over the actual size. Despite the salesman's condescending attitude, I chalked it up to a miscommunication. Over the next few weeks I considered my options, evaluated my budget, and had several critical family situations to handle. I finally found myself in a posture to make a final decision and made an appointment for the same salesman (out of loyalty and acknowledgment that sales is difficult occupation) to return for a final consultation. The night before the consultation, my telephone rang at 9:23 p.m. The salesman immediately began to berate me for not returning his telephone calls after my initial visit to the showroom. He didn't apologize for calling late in the evening (I get up at 5:00 a.m.) or ask if I was available to discuss the appointment. The final nail in this coffin was when he told me a price $200 less than originally quoted and insisted I must be ready to sign the contract at the appointment the next day. He told me he was extremely busy these days and insinuated that I was wasting his time. I then told him it was best to cancel the appointment. He hung up without comment. This review does not address FAS' quality or workmanship because I was disrespected and devalued as a customer before it ever got to that point. I regret that FAS customer service failed to live up to their reputation.

We did not go with the lowest estimate for this project. We felt at the time, the larger company with what we considered a slightly better window was the best option. We got our quote on 9/29/15. By the time the windows came in and we could work out a install date, the start of the project was 11/5/15. Considering FAS requires 50% of the total cost up front and they must buy a lot of windows from the supplier, this seemed like a long time to wait. The installers were on time and did a good job. Unfortunately, one of the windows handles would not work properly and needed to be replaced prior to the windows being inspected. At the time we did not think this was a big deal since things like this can happen. However, this turned into a bit of a nightmare. The wait time to get a simple replacement part was completely unacceptable. Then when they got the part, it was not what was needed to fix the problem so the process started all over again. Keep in mind this entire time there are good sized sticker on every window as well as the sliding glass door that can not be removed until it passes inspection. Not a great look. We also had company coming in for the Christmas holiday and never in our wildest dreams did we think windows that were ordered in September could possibly not be done with before the holiday. Unfortunately that ended up being the case. By the time FAS got the correct replacement part and installed it, the inspection was completed on 12/29/15 while I had a house full of company. To make matters worse, the inspector found that another window handle came off and needed replaced. It still passed inspection but it was another issue that needed resolved. I called FAS on 1/9/16 to let them know about the additional problems. FAS asked me to check the two additional casement windows to make sure those handles stayed in place. They did not. So they had to order replacement parts for three additional windows. It ends up that all four of the casement windows had to have the handles replaced. Not the quality we expected. I had to make multiple calls to FAS to check on when the parts would be in. FAS finally set up the repair on 2/12/16. So from the time they took my initial 50% deposit until everything was complete was over four and a half months. That is so much more than unacceptable. Final payment is due when the initial installation is completed. Once they had all the money, I never felt that we were anything close to a priority for them. How can it take over two weeks to get replacement parts from a factory that FAS is most likely getting deliverers from every day??? Lesson learned, negotiate that final payment is not made until the windows pass inspection. I am very disappointed that a company that has very good reviews and status on Angie's list would treat a customer this way. I would never use them again and will never recommend their services.

First, this job was a referral. My next-door neighbor had their windows replaced with the Simonton Impressions and they were satisfied. They recommended that I request the crew that did their installation. I chose FASWD because the windows they installed next door looked good and really kept out the noise. Their sales person, Roger Andrews, really knew his stuff and had no problem responding to my questions. He did the estimate on his laptop with real-time pricing that allowed me to look at alternative installations and pricing. I ended up choosing their high end windows and the Provia doors. I even emailed Roger one Sunday and he responded right away. The construction installation did not measure up to the level of service provided by Roger, but they eventually corrected the issues to my satisfaction for the most part. I didn't get the crew that installed my neighbor's doors & windows, even though it was requested at the time I signed the contract. Two of my windows were measured incorrectly, they were too wide. Rather than rejecting them and having to wait several weeks for the correct windows, I allowed them to be installed. My 3 doors all had installation issues, which were ultimately resolved. The Orange County inspection was 6 weeks after the initial installation. The work was installed in August over 5 days; the final corrective work was completed in November, nearly 11 weeks later. Overall, I give FASWD a 'B' because of the issues during construction. I look at my new windows and doors and am very happy with the end product. At nearly $16,000, this was my largest home improvement to date. The doors and windows look great and the sound reduction is incredible. The Florida Energy Code was updated and went into effect in 2015, so windows now are even more energy efficient. I did get a letter from their President, John Wilding, in December apologizing for the construction issues. He appreciated the feedback and looked forward to improving their service. Overall, I will recommend using FASWD to others. They should insist on asking for Roger Andrews for their sales presentation and estimate. He's that good!
Description of Work: Installed 17 windows and 3 doors in a 2-story home built in 1991. Most of the windows were Simonton 9800 Double Hung Impressions with laminated glass. The 3 doors were a Simonton Reflections 5500 patio door (triple strength), a Provia steel entry door and another one to the garage.

I have a wrap-around front window (actually forms 2 windows) on my house. One of the window panes (approx 3' x 3') became cracked. Rather than just replace the window pane, my wife wanted to see about replacing both windows with a new custom window. I called FAS Windows and Doors to see about having someone come out and do an estimate. I spoke to someone named Shaniqua (sp?) who promptly informed me that there was a 3 window minimum before they would consider coming out for an estimate. My plan was to see if this company's work was satisfactory to me with the front window before I committed to replacing the remaining windows in the house. I didn't see anything on their website that said there was a 3-window minimum. So, I will look elsewhere for this window and the other windows in my home. One would think that in these economic times, companies would be looking for work no matter what the scope of the project is.

Good Morning (Member Name), Thank you for your interest in FAS Exteriors. We do have a 3 window minimum and below are a few reasons why. The most critical reason is pricing and remaining competitive. The quality of products and the many manufactures we offer, ordering fewer than 3 windows would not be cost effective for our customers. We pull permits on all of our jobs and doing that for fewer than 3 windows wouldn’t be cost effective. The shipping of fewer than 3 windows from the manufacturer wouldn’t be cost effective for our customers. We always want to offer the best products and service for our customers at a competitive price. We do however have a material only policy for anyone looking for less than 3 windows. I’m sorry you weren’t satisfied with our policy.

From sales to installation a very professional company. The installation crew was great. They always were minimizing amount of dust and debris around. The installation crew were very professional and courteous. The crew made sure we knew the window functions and were always concerned we were happy with the installation. Overall a great experience.

The salesman was professional in his presentation of the products and helpful in explaining options. The installation crew arrived on time and did a good job. There were a few factory errors with the product, but the company will correct these.
Description of Work: Replaced 11 windows and 2 sliding glass doors.

We were in their showroom with an intent to purchase a new front door, and possibly making it a custom front door as our old style house has an odd dimension for the doorway. After picking out 2 doors of interest that would probably not be cheap, we were ready for a quote. We have been waiting nearly 3 weeks ( 3 weeks this Friday to be exact) for our quote. Just a quote is all we wanted. We have nothing, not even any contact. I did email after we waited the first week and was told by Stuart that we would have the quote the following day. That was a lie...he gave us nothing! Worst case scenario is that he is still waiting on his end for the quote, well if that is the case than communicate that to us. But I am sure that he was just not interested in our 5-10k project. So just blew us off. What a joke for a sales impression It blows my mind that two people could walk into a showroom with a serious intent to purchase, and FAS won't even give us a price for the door. I would have expected it to be installed in 3 weeks from our visit, let alone still waiting for a price. Sales team needs some work to say the least.
Description of Work: Nothing yet.....Never gave us our quote we have been waiting for!

We have received 3 separate estimates for this project, all of the companies were to install Simonton windows. The models were slightly different but generally indistinguishable from the competitors offering. FAS' was very easy to work with for scheduling although they went out of their way to pressure a schedule where my spouse would be present. I found this a bit strange but simply decided this was a method to help leverage a sale or upgrade. The sales person was prompt, professional and well prepared. After a walkthrough I indicated that I had pre-gamed a bit on Angie's List and did expect his estimate to come in high as many of the reviews indicated. He went to great length to explain the FAS margin and how "good a deal" I would be getting. He was able to quote me immediately and later emailed the estimate per my request. Sadly, FAS came in 50% and 30% more expensive than the two other quotes from highly reviewed vendors here at Angie's List. Both of the additional estimates were in the same ballpark ($450 & $530 per window) - FAS was out of sight at a few dollars under $700 per window.

I visited the FAS & WINDOWS AND DOORS showroom in February of 2014. Here I was able to actually see what products were offered rather than just looking at a brochure. I met with one of their sales representatives briefly and set up a home visit. The home visit went well and the decision was made to order a set of French doors. I was advised of the estimated timeline for the installation and paid the 50% deposit. Two months later I was contacted by the contractor utilized by FAS to advise of a date for the actual installation. Unfortunately upon arrival at my home on the assigned day, it came to light that the incorrect doors were sent. We did experience a bit of a vacuum of communication with FAS as to what had occurred and what would be the next step. However, eventually I was contacted by one of the owners of FAS and everything was set in motion again with a new installation date. The contractors were timely ( both times ), extremely professional and the actual installation went very smoothly.I received a courtesy followup call again by the owner to make sure all went to my satisfaction. The doors are phenomenal ...I receive compliments every time a new visitor comes to my home and sees the doors.. I definitely recommend their products and hope in the future to use FAS again for the replacement of windows in my home.
