I worked with Kim, who was wonderful in helping me choose the correct flooring. After the decision was made, the flooring was ordered and arrived quickly. The installers, Bill and Gerald, were excellent to work with! They were polite, diligent and very professional. The install was a large area, and they were here on time and were hard-working. The new flooring looks awesome! I will definitely use Floor Masters in the future! I highly recommend them!
Description of Work: We replaced our carpet with Premium Vinyl Planking in 4 rooms.

If I could start at the end of the process the rating would be higher. However, we started in March when I contacted them about the cracking& popping noises the floor was making. The new floor was installed Nov 30th! In between was a lot of poor customer service and a lot of hoops for me to jump through. I ended up paying $295 for a floor inspection company to come in and do an assessment of the floor and recommend solutions. There was only one in March, it was verified by the manufacturer and then confirmed in the floor inspection report-put in a new floor. Once the owner agreed to that their whole attitude toward me changed. I had a good installation team and the final result is very nice. As the General Manager said , "We told you we would take care of you." Yes they did- just 8 months earlier and at least two months I had my furniture away from the walls and everything out of or off of the furniture sitting all over the house. It's finished and my grade would be higher if I only had to assess the last two months. I said No to using them again because I couldn't repeat this process again. I was treated differently this time since I became a widow. After friends joined what we called my team things changed and progress was made.

Scheduled a demolition and install of tile around a bathtub. They did not come as scheduled. Installer did not complete job - had to have other professionals from floormasters complete the job. It took a month instead of 2 days to complete job. Manager was nasty and insulting.

Someone came out to look at the problem and said they would get back to us. After several days, I called and left messages, but weeks went by and no one returned my phone calls. After a month or so, I went to Floormasters, was ignored for about 20 minutes, and finally spoke to someone in the office who said they'd get back to me. That was last year. I paid another company to do the work.
Description of Work: The provider was supposed to come to fix grout that was washing out of our shower. He was the builder's installer. It was past the year (only by a few months) warranty, so I offered to pay for the work.
They have always done a great job! They are always on time, professional, available, and accommodating.
Description of Work: They have put in carpet, wood floors, and tile.

Cheryl was, extremely easy to work with--friendly, and accommodating with changes and logistics. The people who measured for both tile and carpet were prompt and courteous, and the installations were accomplished on time. The cleaning crew they hired to do the tile cleanup after removing old floor and installing new were excellent. None of the dust usually associated with tile removal. Carpet was removed, old carpet hauled away and new carpet installed. I was completely satisfied and would not hesitate to use FloorMasters again.
Description of Work: Tile removed from kitchen, breakfast nook and utility room. New tile laid in an extremely attractive diagonal pattern. Carpet removed and new carpet installed in three bedrooms, closets and hall.

we are still in proceeding with this company. If by chance that you go there make sure you get what they owe you first and that it all comes from the same lot befor you pay for your items.

Response from Floormasters
Customer, hired a General Contractor, Toby Young Construction to build a new house. The Member came to FloorMasters to select the tile he wanted in the home. Toby Young Construction then ordered the tile from FloorMasters and FloorMasters delivered the tile to the construction site. While a portion of the order we sent to the customer did contain 2 different tiles, as soon as we were notified, we immediately went out to the job site to assess the situation. We did not have enough tile in stock to complete the order. We immediately ordered more tile to complete the order and promptly delivered it to the job site and took the incorrect tile back. We responded quickly and promptly. We were not able to get the same dye lot which was not a big deal because there was an area to make the change from one dye lot to the other and it absolutely would not be noticed. In fact, we delivered extra tile at no cost to customer so he had enough of each dye lot to complete each of the 2 separate large areas. We gave the installer explicit instructions on where to begin laying the new tile because of the different dye lot issue. Had the customer’s installer done his job correctly, there never would have been a problem. All of the problems arose because the customer used a highly inexperienced tile installer. First, the installer did not notice that there were different tiles delivered and he installed about 15 of the tiles in random areas in a large room. To make matters worse, he still had not noticed his error and grouted the entire room. It was afterwards when someone else noticed the incorrect tiles. While the color and shape of the other tile was very similar, the texture and surface of the other tile was radically different from the correct tile. It is virtually impossible for the installer not to notice the difference. However, this installer did not notice. Then after we delivered the additional tile, this same installer did not keep the 2 different dye lots separate and combined them when he continued laying the tile. Again, had he kept the lots separate and started the new lot at the entrance to the hallway leading to the bedrooms, there would have been no problem as the transition from the original dye lot tiles to the new dye lot tiles would only be in a 3 foot wide area where the light shadows would be drastically different and the slight dye lot change would absolutely not be noticeable. Had they used FloorMasters to do the installation this absolutely would not have happened, had they used even a remotely experienced installer, this would not have happened. Had FloorMasters done the install, we would have removed and replaced the floor at no additional cost to the Customer. This was 100% the fault of the inexperienced installer used by the customer. Any halfway decent installer would have immediately noticed the issue and not installed the incorrect tiles and there would have been no issue or problem. Standard industry practices include the installer making sure that all of his product is there, there is enough product to complete the job, that all of the product is of the same dye lot. Customer’s installer failed to do this and it is his responsibility to correct his own mistakes. This wasn’t even a dye lot issue, it was an entirely different tile issue which again would be discovered by 100% of any halfway decent installer. Our customer, Toby Young Contracting, stopped payment on his credit card payment when he first discovered the problem. However he understands that it is his installer’s fault and not FloorMasters fault and has subsequently paid us in full for all the tile we supplied to him and he subsequently installed. He did not install the remaining tile and we gave him a full refund for the tile that was returned to us. Bottom line is that while this was a major issue to the home owner, Member, it was not FloorMasters’ fault and everything could had been averted had he used a responsible installer to install the tile which was the responsibility of his Contractor. FloorMasters had no responsibility for the installation of its product. We are not privy to the contract between the Member and his Contractor and do not know how this issue was resolved between them. However, we were paid in full by the Contractor as he ultimately realized that the issue was his fault, not FloorMasters.
