Keith went above and beyond. We contacted him prior to making the purchase and he answered ALL of our questions. He walked us through the process and was very quick with replies. We were in the process of closing on a property and he was gracious enough to tentatively schedule us, even though we did not have our home (out of all the electricians we contacted he was the ONLY ONE who was willing to accommodate us into his busy schedule). He arrived on time, was very professional and did an AMAZING job. We showed him a copy of the inspection report and he walked us through all the fixes and corrected them for us. I would recommend Essex over and over again.

Keith from Essex Electrical Service is incredibly responsive. Within 15 minutes of requesting a quote on Angie's List he texted me with the information, and this was on the weekend. I asked him to keep in touch because I wasn't closing on my new house for another six weeks. Later I needed a written estimate for insurance purposes. He had it back to me in a half hour. The day of my closing he sent me a text to confirm his appointment for the following business day. That Monday he arrived not just on time but early. Keith was pleasant and professional. The wiring job he did in my circuit breaker panel reminds me of the wiring under the hood of a show car. All wires are wrapped together in neat rows with the precise amount of insulation stripped for each terminal. Each breaker circuit is clearly labeled. He reminded me to take pictures of his work for my insurance company. Before he left he made sure all of my electrical needs were addressed and written up on his invoice. I couldn't ask for a better experience.

Keith went out of his way to accommodate my time frame for getting the repairs completed. Repairs were done quickly as Keith had all the proper tools and parts with him. I highly recommend his service which I definitely will use again.

My home suffered electrical damage during a recent storm. Keith was recommended to me by a friend and when I looked him up on Angie's and read his reviews I was sold. Keith replied immediately, asked me to send him pictures of my fuse box and told me not to touch it and I needed a circuit breaker immediately. He suggested that as an Angie's member that I buy his big deal since it would fill my needs at a fair price. He arrived as promised the following day, explained everything in detail, was thorough and patient with my concerns and questions.

He was pleasant, punctual and cleanup up before he left. I would definitely use Essex in the future!

The project went extremely smooth. From arriving on time to the removal of the old box, to the time frame predicted, a very clean installation of the new panel, finishing up on time as promised. I highly recommend him for clean, courteous work.

Several wall outlets did not have power. Service was provided promptly about one hour after the call. Problem was identified quickly and fixed.

The project went well. The provider was on time, and professional. He even cleaned our garage when he was done, very uncommon by some contractors.

Keith informed me that the work would take two days; one for the outside work and one for the inside. He arrived on time each day performed the work as described. During the times we would be out of power during the switch, he provided an extension cord to run the refrigerator and TV or whatever. Overall, his work was above and beyond what I expected. He even patched the stucco and painted the areas outside where the old meter was to match the rest of the house with some spare paint I had in the garage.

This was one of the best experiences I have had. I had a really old circuit breaker panel that needed to be replaced and upgraded to current code. Keith was very responsive and answered all of my questions via email. It was very apparent that he knows his business. I purchased his "big deal" coupon and he explained everything that I needed. He responded quickly and scheduled his visit within a few days. He texted me his progress prior to arrival so I knew exactly when he would get to my house. At the house he explained everything about my electrical system and what he was doing. He even provided generator power while he was working. His work was professional and very high quality and he was friendly to deal with. He also rerouted an outlet that was in the way of the new bigger box and actually expanded it to 4 outlets. Everything is clean and works fantastic. If you want a knowledgeable electrician for replacing circuit breaker panels I highly recommend Keith Harrod. We feel safer and could not be happier, and now I also know a lot more about how my electrical system works.

He was very professional yet personable at the same time. He was very pleasant to work with. He took the time to explain things out and seemed very patient. He was very accommodating to us, allowing us to go about our daily activities even though sometime we got in his way a little, (which he never complained about). We are in the process of interviewing contractors for a future renovation and he took the time to explain some future problems we might have with the electric and what we might want to consider.

Keith was great. He was able to give me an estimate from the photos of the existing panels. Communication was fast and easy. Because of an unseen serious issue with the outside panel, he ended up working double the time he usually does to complete the entire job in one day instead of the usual two. He definitely went above and beyond. He kept the work area neat and clean and the end result of his work was one of the cleanest best organized electrical panels I've ever seen.

All I can say is wow!!! This is how people should run their companies. He was clear on pricing and expectations. He did outstanding work and even fixed someone else's shoddy work for no additional cost. Not only will I have him back to do the outside panel, I will active campaign for him in our neighborhood. The homes here were built in the 80s with breaker panels that had issues. I will pass his information around to all of our neighbors. You cannot go wrong with his company. They were almost half the other companies I investigated. This man truly enjoys his craft and it shows. He did our work nicer than I would have done it.

Keith promise to come back out and get lights working in kitchen as well as put up some other fixtures complementary since we signed up for the Angie's list deal. Called him today to ask him to come out and install fixtures and get lights working in the kitchen and he explained it be charges. I explained he told me it would be complementary and he told me only the day he was out here. Had I known that we would've gotten the fixtures and not had him do the breaker box until we had all fixtures. Lights in kitchen are not working properly and thought he would fix when he did breaker box. Thought he was very rude this morning when I called back and tried to get him to come back out. It's easy to do business on the front and but sometimes it seems follow-through can be difficult for some businesses. He explained it would be cheaper to get a handyman to come out and install fixtures. My problem is he promised to install the fixtures when he was doing the work. Again I would've waited until I had all fixtures to have him install. Once again the lights are not working in my kitchen and I now need to hire another electrician to find out why my lights aren't working after I spent $1100 .

This was the most painless maintenance job in recent memory. Using references and information on Angie's List I chose Essex Electrical Service for my project. Keith specializes in breaker panel replacement and his expertise is apparent. Keith sent a text to remind me to meet him at the property. He was on time and ready to go. The panel was installed, drywall repaired and every active breaker was labeled and power restored in a bit less than 5 hours. The work area was immaculate when Keith left.

My service is 150 amp, but the new equipment requires 200 amp service. I bought his $1,100 panel upgrade deal through Angie's List. When he inspected my site, he explained that I also needed a new 200 amp breaker and box on the outside of the house. He also explained that the outside equipment (A/C compressor, sprinkler pump, pool pump, and pool heater) should be connected to the outside breaker box rather than run through the inside breaker panel. The entire job, including the permit cost $3,300. I met Keith at the building department to sign the application for the building permit. His familiarity with the department and their procedures allowed him have the permit issued immediately (walk through). The job took two days to complete and he was early both days. He explained everything that he was going to do. The first day, he installed a new 200 amp breaker box with 40 slots. When he was finished the neat and orderly manner in which he bundled and routed the wires was almost a work of art. in addition to that, he replaced the aluminum wiring going to my clothes drier and installed a new outlet. He also rewired another outlet and installed a new outlet in my utility room. At the end of the day, he cleaned up everything and vacuumed the floor. The second day, he was early again. Once again he replaced outdated aluminum wire with copper wire. he also ran new wiring to my A/C and sprinkler pump and installed a new switch. He installed a new grounding rod and properly grounded all my devices. Not only did he re-concrete the area, but volunteered to repaint it. I wasn't sure where the paint was and told him I would take care of it. BTW, he even recommended a very nice musical album. I wish that all contractors were like Keith. He is professional, courteous, and goes above and beyond what is called for on the job. I recommend him to anyone who needs electrical work. I will certainly call him when I need any electrical work in the future.

I often read reviews, but never write them. I contacted Keith from Essex Electrical before purchasing the service from an Angie's list coupon and he answered all of my questions. As soon as I purchased the service he contacted me again and made a date for installation that was convenient for me 2 days later. He arrived on time and finished within a few hours. I had to go to work, so he sent me picture updates of his progress. He then cam back 2 days later and labelled the panel, which some of the other companies I had give me a quote charged extra for. If you need your electrical panel replaced I would highly recommend Keith and Essex Electrical.

He was efficient timely courteous neat and certainly did a great job for us. I have remodeled many homes and picked him from Angie's List because of my dissatisfaction with my last electrician. I would highly recommend him. He pulled all permits and followed the job through till the end. I will hire him again for my next project.

My hot water heater stopped working. I noticed a breaker that wasn't "on"... I tried to put it back on and it wouldn't go. I called Keith. He was at my house in just over an hour. Changed the breaker and turned it on. As he turned it on, the electrical work on the water heater had a fire. Glad he was there! Obviously this is why the breaker broke in the first place. Keith rewired that and waited for the water heater to start performing. He didn't leave until he knew it was working. I would call Keith back in a second. Keith was extremely punctual. He knows his stuff and he even knew the city inspector's tough personality. He did some extra work at no additional cost because he knew the inspector would see my pool pump was not wired to code, and he better secured other electrical boxes to the outside wall just so it would be more secure and not draw the ire of the inspector. Plus, he replaced a broken cover for my sprinkler timer box which I have been unable to find for a few years. Everything was cleaned up and the inside wall around the circuit breaker panel was all patched and made to look like it had been there from the beginning. I consider myself very lucky to have found him, he was a blessing to my home.

Keith came to my house to review the job site and what I wanted done. He contacted the Electrical Inspector to confirm that the set up that I wanted was alright to do. He applied for a permit and did the install. The panel change and generator input box installation was very neat and professional. The inspector was impressed with his work and had no problem passing the inspection. Keith was very professional, on time and in constant contact. I am very pleased with his work and would highly recommend him.
